Phone optimized
Clear, communication platform
Keeps Crashing
The app is garbage
Pretty good
It keeps opening to tax year 2022, so each time I have to remember to change to the current year. Then when looking at documents I uploaded, it gets stuck and there is no way to go back and see the document list. Which is a challenge if I may have accidentally uploaded the same doc twice, or failed to upload one.
Times out
The app often times out while uploading docs and I have to start over. Sometimes after just 2-3 minutes of getting multiple pages uploaded. Taxes are frustrating enough without the app adding to issues.
Uploaded material lost before saved.
I was uploading multiple documents by photos and when updating the tax year, the uploaded material “vanished,” going to the bottom of my iPad screen. I am unable to retrieve it. Help!
Thank you
Fast and simple.
Horrible app
Terrible on an iPad. Absolutely awful.
Smart Links not so smart
For the second year now Smart Links is not working. How can a fix take this long?
Ease of Use
I do not think this program is intuitive
Easy to use.
Great app. Easy to use. No problem with the app.
Awful Software
My financial advisor wants me to use this but so far it’s unusable. I can’t find a major institution like fidelity and the autofill passwords function doesn’t work. Very frustrating.
Hard to reconcile
The way it breaks down portfolios, it lists dozens of requested documents that I am reasonably certain don’t exist. I am unable to reach a 60% submission completion rate. I have also have had no success entering verification codes received on my spouse’s cellphone into my computer when attempting to co-sign required .
Still buggy after all these years…..
While better than a couple of years ago, this thing still crashes unexpectedly, does not play well with financial companies (banks, brokerages) and freezes when least expected. Hoping that the powers that be will continue working on it as this could be awesome if it worked like expected.
Tax Caddy, I was skeptical at first
My accountant emailed the request to download the mobile app for TaxCaddy to help me organize my taxes on time to file April 15. I was skeptical at first, but after using it just a few times, and for a few hours I found it immensely helpful, easy to learn, and apparently, quite confidential and encrypted. I’m not the greatest record keeper, but with prompts from prior tax years, all the necessary documents were requested and uploaded for my account to use. I’d say five thumbs up.
Won’t work with MFA
The automatic download feature won’t work due to MFA. Also you can’t upload documents directly from financial institutions. The documents must be externally downloaded then uploaded to TaxCaddy.
Great idea consumers allowed to invite their tax professionals rather than other way around
My CPA does not use this, however I want a better way to communicate with him and track and make irs payments. I found this on the App Store and it looks like it would be a huge help for me. However this app requires him to initiate us using this. He must be the one to first have an account and invite me. If I could invite him, I am sure he would use this for me. I would pay the whole cost to use it as the consumer in order to be able to use all the features that this app appears to have.
More difficult then it should be
The title says it all.
Great for working my CPA and a good way to pay IRS
O am finding the app and the service it represents to be very useful. Makes tax season much less hectic.
Don’t like
Takes too much time and the app is clumsy
Use your phone not computer or iPad
I tried using my computer and my iPad to fill out the documents and to take pictures of the documents requested. It was very hard to use the camera on the iPad and it wouldn’t accept the photos on my computer. Once I switched to using my phone it was much easier. I find the app difficult to use because I forget year to year how to work it. It was very stressful. I’m hoping I got all my documents in correctly. The font size is so small it was hard to see what documents are being requested I would not say the app is easy to use
Okay app but not great
I first used the app last year. The learning curve was not too steep and I quickly got my information uploaded for me tax preparer with only little back a forth. But this year it’s been a bit of a different picture. I made sure that the default tax year was set to the current tax year, but the program does not consistently use the default year. So data and messages kept get accidentally logged to 2022 instead of the default 2023. Leave me and my tax preparer to find and move uploaded files and looking in 2022 and 2023 for messages. The second issue is it’s difficult to upload a file in to the correct category, to many steps. The third issue, I could not get the smart link feature to work. In years past I’ve used a similar feature in TurboTax and got data from Wells Fargo and Vanguard. But could not get TaxCaddy to talk to Wells Fargo so I gave up and manually updated those tax forms. Taxes preparation is stressful enough I DO NOT need an app adding to the stress. One big request, make the default tax year global so if you set it once it stays set to that year for all functions unless the user explicitly wants it to go to a different year.
Cumbersome
This is a cumbersome program to upload to. I scan to .jpg and it doesn’t take it not .png.
Terrible
Not intuitive. Poor scanning quality and after fighting with it to get all of my documents uploaded my accountant could not see them. Absolutely begging me to “try smart links” at every turn. What’s a smart link? No explanation offered. Wish I could give zero stars.
Very stressful to use this app
I do not like this app and was much happier filling out an excel file with my totals for personal and business totals. So much trouble scanning docs with my phone and categorizing them. Also filling out forms in the phone like texting and forms not saving or not sending so I have to redo an entire rental property worksheet several times. It shouldn’t be this difficult.
Bugs
Many bugs logging in. Tech support is not helping much.
Client
It did not automatically sign me in with my tax office and now it’s such a process to figure out
G
The personal info section will locks up and will not load information. The user interface sucks!
Defaults to wrong year; crashes.
When I started uploading this year I realized belatedly that all documents were going to the previous year because the default set by the app was wrong. App also crashes and continually forces me to try to log on again.
Upload Documents Limited
Only allows pdf and xls
Smart Links don’t work
Cannot link to Fidelity to down load 1099’s.
Tax information entry
This is a terrible unfriendly program! It is virtually impossible to review what has been entered and to change it.
Not very user friendly
I’m not comfortable uploading my personal information to an app
