I am Constantly having trouble with this app!! Now I Can’t even access the app because it says I need an update but the 17.0 is higher than my phone is which is 16.7 .. This is ridiculous & I Need help!!
Savings Account Review
The percentage of interest you get on large amounts of savings is just laughable!!! And it can take 1-3 days for a bank to bank transfer! Most banks can do it within a day!

As was stated in the August 15th review, I update my app, sign back in, and it asks that I update my app, and in the loop I go.

DON’T FORCE US TO UPDATE OUR PHONES
I DON’T LIKE THE NEW APPLE IOS SO THEREFORE I DONT UPDATE MY PHONE TO THE LATEST IOS SO I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO UPDATE MY( KEY WORD “MY”) PHONE TO THE NEW IOS JUST TO USE MY BANKING APP. IT SHOULD BE ONE OPTIONAL OR TWO I SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO NOT UPDATE APP AND STILL BE ABLE TO USE IT. NEED A SOLUTION NOW BC I WILL IN FACT NOT UPDATE MY PHONE TO THE NEW IOS AND IF NOT I WILL HAPPILY TAKE MY MONEY AND GO TO A NEW BANK THAT WILL LET ME CHOOSE AND NOT FORCE ME TO THE NEW UPDATE OF IOS JUST TO USE THEIR BANKING APP.

I love this app except the check deposits are too difficult.
Update
My app says I need an update so I update until it says open. I choose open and the app goes back to site needs to update. It is in a loop. I have given it time to update on this iPad and it stays in loop. Also this morning the app on my iPhone would not accept my pin. I have not changed my pin. The app worked smoothly until recently. Feeling frustrated.

Terrible experience
Bank has risk mitigation set way to sensitively so transactions get rejected constantly. Rejections have no description for why. Have left me stranded more than once without access to my money.

Working with Hawthorn Bank is so easy. If you have any kind of problems go in the bank or chat with someone on the app.
Too many issues.
If I could give it 0 stars, I would. While the staff are nice and often do help, the Hawthorn Bank app itself is a complete mess. Transaction history is very hard to read/track and is just plain confusing. Often times my available balance is false and causes me to not actually have enough for transactions, even after it shows I clearly do, AND EVEN AFTER THAT, adding funds into the account to try mitigate the issue of “not having enough”, doesn’t work either. No restrictions or account locking occurred during these issues. I have gone home from the store hungry, embarrassed, and honestly upset, twice now, when I have tried purchasing food and other essentials after work. I will be switching banks as soon as possible. I suggest others do the same.
Great Banking App
The app is great and does almost everything I want it to do, including instant transfers between my checking and savings which is super helpful. I can also electronically transfer money to my parents every month so I don’t have to go to a bank all the time. Highly recommend!!

My app hasn’t worked for a week now. I have deleted and started over and still no luck. What a pain that I can’t check my account. No one at the bank has been able to help but said others are having the same issues.
Can’t get into my online banking
I have been trying all morning to get this fixed. Yesterday I went to my Hawthorn Bank to check my acct. it wouldn’t bring anything up just said I had to update , I tried but it wouldn’t except my email address or password. So I call Hawthorn bank and she gave me a couple suggestions , since my IPhone is a 7Plus. I m not that good on the internet , but I tried and could get any satisfaction. I am 83 yrs. Old and I don’t need all this stress, so if you can’t figure it out I’m left to transfer my money to a bank in Texas where I live.
Bro.....
Too many ways to set up a payment. There are 3 different ways to set up a payment. Had a recurring bill and tried to update it only to create 2 more payments in addition to this one. This causes unnecessary payments to be pulled even when you call for help with this. Took 5 people to straighten this out. They weren’t even sure how to fix it and said that it was a confusing process. Fix it.

Sometimes you can make a mobile deposit and sometimes it takes 2 to 3 times of crashing the app before it will allow you to take a picture of the back of the check.
Functional but not intuitive
I essentially would compare it to Bank of America. Their app is much more intuitive than HawthornBank. I frequently have to get with customer service to find any new thing I want to do with my funds but usually can resolve it that way and figure it out. I have not tried using the auto pay or any of those features, as I only have a loan with Hawthorn Bank.
Lags behind every other app
Lacks features, mobile deposit is a huge hassle . it easier to drive to the bank than deal with this!
