MISLEADING!
When you purchase and subscribe they make it seem like you will have an access to all content but then have to pay another $40 a month for EACH creators content on TOP of your current subscription. Scam.

Great app! Love the ease of use! Just wish there was an app for the smart tv so I didn’t have to project from my phone to the tv.

Love the workouts so far but quite limited. For any other workouts you’d have to pay extra, each program costs about $50++ Paid for year, won’t be continuing after.
Not what it used to be
I’ve been a playbook user for a few years now and thought my preferred creator was just formatting things in a new way that felt “frantic” but after trying a few other creators, I think it’s a playbook issue. The content of each creator is fantastic, however the format, particularly on timed AMRAP sets, is chaotic. The rest screen is black, so you can only see a thumbnail screenshot of the next move. During the rest, I think that must be when I should be entering my weights and reps, but also setting up for the next move, and there’s just not enough time to do all that. When a creator suggests AMRAP for the quantity, you then need to DELETE those letters from the journal in addition to typing in your weight and reps. By the time you’ve done that, it’s already started the next set in the background. After years of happily using playbook whenever I can’t get to the gym, I find myself dreading my at home Playbook days now because I just feel frazzled after a workout. It’s not the creators - the workouts I’m choosing are still fantastic. It’s the changes by playbook to the formatting, the black rest screen so you can’t see the next move until the timer starts counting down, the pre-filled AMRAP in the journal that you have to delete.
Love this app
I seriously love this app and the features it has - rest timer, checking off sets as you go, and easily being able to see the history of a workout with the notes you put. I follow one specific creator and her workouts got me into the best shape I was before, so I’m here for it again
No customer service
My purchase disappeared on the app and tried to reach the customer service about it multiple times but they’re not responsive at all!
Almost Perfect: Just Needs Apple Health Integration
I love this app! It shows actual videos of trainers performing each exercise, provides a separate page for instructions and comments, and allows you to record the weight used for every set. It has almost everything I want in a workout app. Logging my weights helps me remember where to start the following week. The one major feature it is missing is Apple Health integration. Other fitness apps can automatically sync your workouts and progress with Apple Health and connected platforms such as Strava, Oura, and Hume. Adding this functionality would make Playbook nearly perfect—and definitely worth five stars!
Glitching
This app is so disruptive with the constant glitching and buffering. Not compatible with iPhone at all.
Workouts won't load
I am unsure how this gets good reviews. Videos will not load or play continuous. On or off wifi. Mirroring/casting takes a miracle if it happens in under 10 min. This has been happening since I downloaded the app.

Doesn’t allow workout tracking and no customer support
This app is supposed to allow you to log your workouts in your calendar. The only problem is there is no way to actually log and all of the information that they have on their Support site doesn’t actually match with the app. Looks like. I’ve contacted customer service on a weekly basis and they literally send me the exact same thing that is on their site even though in my emails to them I specifically state that I’ve already looked at their site and tried to follow the steps, but the information provided doesn’t actually match what the site looks like on the app. I’ve even sent them screenshots of what I see to help find a solution to the issues that has and I receive no response weeks. Go by I follow up and then I get a new person who starts with the same information again. I ended up canceling my subscription with the trainer that I absolutely love just because the functionality of the app is lacking and the team doesn’t seem to want to improve their app. Another issue I have with the app is I have this app on my phone and I can’t watch the workout videos in landscape mode even though the trainer records the videos in landscape mode because there’s no rotation. This app definitely is very green and has a lot of kinks to work out.
Variety
It’s great but would love more variety. I feel like I’ve been doing the same things for 6 months straight.
It’s Fine
Feels a little dated and clunky. The user experience is also strange and not overly intuitive.
Rate notis and upgrade
I find it annoying to have ti grade very exercise, it takes time from my training. Another thing that is annoying is that between each axercise there is a button to update to annual payment instead of once a month. There is a big risk that you press it without wanting to. I want to train without having to think about where I might accidentally press in the app.

So far I love this app. I’m feeling confident more and more each day. I’m starting to feel more devoted for the next workout each day . I also don’t feel like I’m doing it alone and the great part is I’m doing along side the girls. Love love love

The app changed to a 2 week daily outlook and got rid of a lot of the programs. Since then the app has been awful. Workouts are not creative.

Worst customer service ever. No humans.
Would rate 0 if I could. I’ve been trying for almost 5 days to get access to the trial i signed up for. No help from anyone at this company resolving the issue. Just AI chatbots telling me over and over that someone will come back to me (spoiler alert: no one ever does). Meanwhile dozens of messages and emails and even DMs on social media have gone unanswered. Don’t use this app unless you don’t care about your money. I don’t trust them at all. I’ll be disputing the charges with my bank and filing a complaint with the BBB and anywhere else I can! RUN AWAY FROM THIS APP! You may think it’ll be fine, but heaven help yon if you need help. There’s literally no one there to answer any questions.

Paid for a premium subscription to access all content. A bit later noticed that some content still locked. Contacted Playbook Support who advised they’d changed their business model to allow for creators to lock their content thus requiring users to pay more money to access it. What’s the point in an ‘all access premium subscription’ if you can’t access all content? Seems a bit scammy. The app itself is good. Support are slow and unhelpful.
Wifi Dependence Annoying
A pilates instructor I subscribe with uses this app. The app itself is user friendly however doing reformer pilates using a phone is not practical. The first few times I used the casting app at home it was great, but I live rurally and my WiFi can be patchy. There is no way to cast to my laptop using mobile data. This also means I can’t do these workouts in my studio where we have no WiFi (no need for it there usually) using my laptop. I have given permission for the app to have access my mobile data but it still requires WiFi to cast. Very frustrating as I am paying quite a bit for this instructor’s classes.

Illegal charging practices
I had canceled this app previously, it no longer showed under active subscription and without informing me, they charged me for another year. I tried to contact them multiple times and they never replied so I was forced to dispute the charge with my credit card company. While i enjoyed the app for the time I used it, it is not worth dealing with the cancelation issues.
It’s a pretty good app
Many workouts to choose from. You can log your sets reps and weights and it keeps a history showing you your previous PR. Easy to use. Can be overwhelming with the amount of workouts but a lot of the trainers offer a START HERE button to guide you. The only thing that I think needs work is the little tab to press at the too of the page to go to the next workout is too close to the timer button, and sometimes are really a pain to tap to get to the next workout.

I love the app but I cannot cast on my tv
I love the app and it used to work perfectly but recently I’ve been unable to cast the workouts on my tv. I hope it gets fixed soon so I can continue using it, otherwise sadly I’ll have to cancel my subscription.

Unauthorized transaction
If I could give this app 0 stars I would. Incredibly disappointed in the UX and customer support of this platform. First off, I was charged for a subscription after cancelling my free trial days before its last day. Second of all, not only am I charged for a subscription that I didn’t sign up for but it doesn’t even appear on my profile making me question further why I was charged in the first place. No subscription = no charge but this company thinks no subscription = they can charge me for one. Third of all, I reached out to customer support to dispute this transaction. Not only were they not helpful but I have been ghosted by “Jordan.” It’s been 2 weeks since I responded to their last email and NOTHING. Silence from them. Incredibly irritated and disappointed. Do not use app unless you want unauthorized transactions on your credit cards!
Great app but…..
The app is great but there are 2 annoying issues. 1 is that touching the line to go to the next exercise has to be so provide that more than have the time it goes to full screen. So I end up have to keep tapping the screen to get it right. This is particularly annoying when the heart rate is high and you’re at all shaky. The second annoying issue is if I toss my phone onto the sofa to do an exercise, it bounces to another screen to review the app. Please fix these issues!
Good content but app is very clunky!
This app does have good content but unfortunately it is hard to find what you are looking for with the search functions so you don’t get to use it. Easier to find free content on YouTube.
Glitch since update
Since updating the app on my iPad the keyboard no longer shows up so I can’t enter the weight in the workout, or leave any type of message. I deleted the app, restarted the iPad, and redownloadedthe app but it still doesn’t work. The app on my phone works fine as I haven’t updated it on there.
The Absolute Best App
Thanks to Shaina’s training programs I can’t believe I’m 7 lbs away from my long term goal. I started at 198 lbs 9 months ago and now I weight 172 lbs! I’ve lost 26 pounds 🥳 In addition, my A1C went down from 5.8 to 5.5. I’m so happy, proud and grateful!
APP SCAMS PEOPLE Of $$$$$$
Terrible app and customer service. I signed up for Corrina Dunne’s workouts. Signed up for 1 month and the app charged me for the 1 month and few days later charged me for a full year, although app continually says membership expires in 1 month. Support is a scam, they NEVER email back have been emailing support for over 2 weeks and the in-app support chat NEVER gets answered. This is the worst platform and while I like Corrina DunNe’s workouts, she’s lost a subscriber because of this untrustworthy, scam of an app.
Great app - watch is missing
I really like this app and appreciate the updates and improvements. But I miss an Apple Watch integration. It’s very annoying to always have to mark the exercises on the phone that the timer for the pause starts. Watch would be much easier and extremely more practical. Hope this will come soon!
Desperately needs an iPad version!
Whilst I do enjoy using this app on my phone, it’s quite a disappointment to see that there isn’t an iPad version as it’s perfect to use in the gym!
Timer is weak
Slowest of the apps on my phone, hopefully it’ll improve with this latest update. Also wish the timer didn’t have to be reset with every exercise as it is time consuming and breaks the flow of the workout. Other than that, cool app. Could use more variety when it comes to mobility workouts (primal and natural movement)
Excellent customer service
I had a small issue come up and had questions. Sent an email and honestly forgot about it because it was probably in the middle of the night when I sent it. By the next day I had a very detailed response and resolution. Very obviously not just automated either. I have to say I'm very impressed with the customer support, it isn't common anymore but Playbook has it figured out and delivers! Highly recommended!
Charged me without consent
This app charged my card for $99 and I have no purchases or subscriptions on my account. This is illegal. DO NOT get this app or give them your card!

Best app around with awesome programs
I've tried a few apps during the last year, with different approaches and prices. This is the best one for me so far. And the workouts are actually challenging and progressive. I found a few issues with touch controls (on iPhone 14 Max) mainly during the workout. You really need to be precise when you tap on something and shaky hands don't help. The second issue is screen mirroring (on Apple TV), with landscape videos don't rotate. You need to deal with it a bit but you manage in the end.
Looks good but user experience is not good
We can’t get any basic info about a program (maybe after subscribing for a month). The Your Partner button has a bunch of tabs that do nothing after I tap them. It mentions a free trial but it took ages to know I started it by actually starting a subscription. Also, some menus don’t look good on my small screen phone. The absolute worst is that I’m now subscribed, I’m trying to click a program under the “challenge yourself in 2023” and nothing opens. I like the potential and idea behind the app, but the execution seems amateurish. Also… No search functionality? No filters?
Great app overall but troubles with billing
Great functionality of the application with great personalized features and smooth browsing. The only trouble I had was with card processing and with billing dates; subscription pay delayed without being able to use app for days and when payment finally proceeded those days from the monthly subscription were lost with no refund. Costumer service did gave me an alternative to refund the most part but still the platform could be more friendly in those terms.
