Love this app!! 😌
One of the largest question banks I’ve seen in general! I’m so so grateful for all the studying and practice opportunities with this app! 😊
Free version useless
Can only do ten questions a day. If you take the exam version and do ten questions, you can never do the next ten questions. It just restarts at the same ten you’ve already but counts against you. And then you can’t ever see the results if you were right or wrong. So poorly thought out
Easy to use but needs a few upgrades
For the iPad version, would be helpful if the app was compatible with the Split View so that I could keep my notes all in one place.
Excessive software glitches ruin the experience
Content wise the app is great. Questions, explanations, and review functionalities are awesome (you’ll of course have to do the 3 day free trial then pay $20 to make it worth the content), but the app almost without fail glitches and loads blank questions that make you have to keep going back and reentering to get it to load. It doesn’t lose your progress, but it makes reviewing and taking practice tests impractical due to how frustrating and time consuming it is. Fix all the UI glitches and it’ll be a great experience, I’m sure!
Review
The app is really good but I wish you will give more free questions.
It’s great
So I subscribed for a month because I couldn’t offer to pay more than $20 for GRE prep. This is the only app that let you subscribe on a monthly basis. I finished the 1000 problems on the front page by doing 33+ problems every day and studying the flash cards when I commuted. Walked out with 325+. It really helped.
Doesn’t work
App doesn’t work, wouldn’t give me the trial, nor it would let me purchase it.
Pretty good
Pretty good app. Would be five stars if I could see all the solutions on my iPad Mini. Often they are garbled and indecipherable.
Works well enough. Cant get timings on all question types
I’m very interested in my quantitative speed. I’ve taken 0 non quantitative questions and the average time on the main progress screen doesn’t match the average time on the quantitative progress screen. Ironically I could do the math myself, but I can’t drill down into the details for all quantitative questions to see the timings for all categories, which seems like a bug. Otherwise seems to work pretty well.
Excessive Glitches Inhibit Learning
I really want to love this app. In terms of the practice questions and the ease of making studying a daily habit, it’s absolutely wonderful. I find myself reaching for the app frequently, since my phone is always with me and physical GRE prep books are heavy and harder to navigate. Unfortunately, the software glitches in this app make it virtually unusable. As others have mentioned, it frequently loads blank questions, or the question you’re working on randomly disappears — forcing you to reload the screen and lose your progress. Even worse, answer explanations that contain charts or formulae do not render properly. Several times I’ve seen blank charts that go off to the right side of the screen ad infinitum. You can scroll to the right to your heart’s content, but you’ll never actually see the answer explanation that the chart is supposed to contain. An app that costs $15/month should not contain these kinds of bugs — especially a learning app. More than once, these glitches have prevented me from learning from my mistakes and improving. It’s extremely frustrating. This is basic stuff that any app developer team should be able to fix. I’ve tried reporting these bugs, but there’s no option to do that in the app. So I guess all I can do is leave a negative App Store review.
Best app for GRE
I like this app very much! Questions are organized by subject. Answer explanations are very simple and elegant. I like the step by step approach whereas other GRE apps seem to overcomplicate things. The interface is also uncluttered unlike some apps that bombard you with ads.
Paid for the subscription and can’t use it, app has no support
I paid for the monthly subscription and checked to be sure. I have restored it a few times and still can’t access the ‘locked’ content. I can’t find the in app support. Why is there no way to contact support from the app?! I’m paying for content I can’t use.
New patch suggestion
It was a boon if the app had a Leitner Box feature for memorizing the GRE words.
Not enabled for accessibility.
Great functionality. Probably one of the best overall GRE resources available. But I can’t say that for certain because the app is not enabled for accessibility. Neither voiceover nor tts features work.
Didn’t really help boost my scores...
The app is very well done, but I feel like the study materials were definitely lacking. I was getting consistent right answers on the questions and doing them fast by the time exam day was close. But then I got to the exam and the questions on the second quantitative section were so much harder than even the most difficult questions on the app. I scored 155 in the quantitative (because I didn’t finish - I was really thrown off by the hard problems) and 157 on verbal. I’m not the best reader so I guess the verbal score was decent, but 155 on quant was wild. For some context, I have a bachelor’s in applied mathematics. I definitely don’t think the prep pack is completely to blame but I’m very disappointed that my performance on the practice questions was not at all indicative of what my performance on the exam would have been. The questions were just really easy compared to actual test day. So long story short, this is a great resource but I would definitely supplement it with other more difficult study kits.
Awesome app, great customer service
Large number of practice questions. Simple layout. Had an issue with the app and the subscription but their great customer service team sorted it out quickly. Highly recommend.
No easy way to cancel
Beware once you sign up it’s super hard to cancel. Not obvious to do and of course they keep charging you. App is good to bad this gets in the way
Great app!
Helpful and easy to use
Great, but misleading
This app is definitely not free. They give you 24 hours of premium access, which is nice because they have a lot of practice questions and stuff. However, after the 24 hours are up they only give you 4 questions.... 😱 then they want you to pay $19.99 which is not a whole lot, but I already purchased a book and other things so my study budget is maxed out.
Good content
The content is good but there’s another free GRE verbal app that has exactly same content as the verbal reasoning section.
Effective Study Tool
Spent about three months studying for the GRE, and my only materials were this app and The Official Guide to the GRE General Test. Just took the test today, 166 Quantitative, 170 Verbal. The way you can mark things for review later was definitely helpful, and the way they categorized the math questions by subject helped identify broader areas I needed to focus on. One potential suggestion: when I first started studying, I went to All Quantitative Reasoning and it immediately dropped me into the most advanced problems. Defaulting to Algebra or the Mixed Review category would have probably made more sense.
Nothing is free
Everything costs money to unlock
It works
It works well
Text completion changes
Note for developers: Text Completion questions that you get wrong have an extremely bright, red background and you can’t clearly read incorrect answer choices because the font is light gray. Please use a different tone of red for incorrect answer choices. It is remarkably unpleasant to try to read answer choices with the red background.
I
How
Great app but
It randomly reduced my account to the free trial version even though I am a paid subscriber. I have reached out to technical support, but have heard nothing so far. It has been 2 days.
Love it. Great questions and answers explanations
Great app to get you started on studying for your GRE
Default subscription price is a rip-off.
One month subscription fee is $8.99, how can you charge $29.99 for 3 months? And the app didn’t show all price options! I feel intellectually attacked I mean this app is supposed to teach users math well.
Great tool!!
The app is super useful! You can study anywhere. It is very friendly and the mini dashboard is motivating. The only missing thing is to know and to be able to pick the difficulty of the questions.
Subscription
I recently paid for a subscription but it’s now giving me the free trial version, even though I paid. I’ve tried to call their number numerous times and no ones answers. I’ve even written on their ‘send us a message’ section on the website. Have to resort to leaving a review in hopes someone gets back to me!
Good
Good for practice
Meh
Good content but the software isn't always functioning properly. It will get stuck out of frame and then you cannot move on because the button needed for continuing cannot be selected.
Exceptional
In my attempt to succeed at the GRE way higher than previously, I saw someone suggest this app and it’s proving to be my biggest boon. For $8.99 monthly, it’s the most complete, testing and rewarding material I have used.
Impossible to log in
Won’t let me log in with the correct email & password. I even checked if they were correct on the web browser.
Can’t turn off auto renew
I can’t seem to turn off auto renewal, after a failed attempt to find my account settings. What should I do?
Paid Subscription won’t work
I paid for the year subscription but everything is still locked and I keep getting prompted to pay.
will not even load offline
there is no reason an app should refuse to run just because the device is offline at the time. iOS can easily handle not allowing unauthorized duplication.
Feedback
Math questions need to be more tough
Fantastic Resource to Take Your Prep on the Go
Of note, it should be made clearer upfront that the questions are the same as those offered in the '5lb' book. It would also be great to be able to access the advanced vocabulary here in addition to the 'essential' 500. Parts of speech should also be listed on the front of the vocab 'flashcards'. Otherwise, no complaints!
??
When I try to open the app it’s just black
Thorough but incompatible
Buying any package of questions in this app does NOT allow you to also answer the questions in a browser. So yes, if you buy the 1500+ questions for prep, be prepared to do all of them on your phone screen. The question quality is comparable to other prep systems
