Satellite Finder (Pro) reviews
4.5 out of 5, based on 27,443 reviews.
What people like
- AR mode makes alignment easy
- Very accurate for direct TV dishes
- Simple to use for beginners
What they complain about
- Ads pop up even after paying
- App blocks you for days randomly
- Database lacks many current satellites
- Compass fails near metal dishes
Satellite performance
I am really impressed with the development of this app from the very beginning I knew it was special something that simply can’t be understood but does. Thank you
Ads
I paid for the app and I keep watching ads and too much ads
Satellite Finder
Inmarsat
Not all Inmarsat listed.
Blocked for 333 days??
The app was amazing but I randomly got the “the app is blocked for 333 days”, and it’s useless.
Great
Can not live without it.
disappointing
I like the idea of AR for elevation, but I keep getting ads and there’s no way to pay for the so called pro version. Also, why are the NOAA satellites not listed?
Great app with easy interface.
This does exactly what it needs to do. Just a few questions: 1- I cannot find how to pay to disable the ads. 2- Can there be an option to find/sort the list by orbital position? I don’t always know the name of a satellite but I know what its position is. (I will more likely want to search for 97W instead of Galaxy 19) 3- In the obstacles view, could you have it show nearby satellites also and not just the one?
Why am I blocked for 363 days???
Explain this to me
Too Many Adverts
A brilliant app, spoilt by the fact there is no paid for version available so you can use it without all the damned adverts popping up.
More satellites please
Great App, but can we get SES-15 and Echostar-105 added?
What is this?
No goes no meteor satalites what is this
Gute App
Update please
It needs echostar 24 support!
Trouble figuring out the names of satellites
I’m trying to figure out the name of satellites and I don’t see it in the list it is ES 17 ES 19 and SW3 any help would be appreciated
Great App
Works every time even for old peoples like myself!!! Love it!!
Not up to date
New C-Band replacement satellites are not in the database. Unusable for what I need.
Difficult to use in tight circumstances
If you are working with a dish off the ground, say on the side of a house, and you are trying to aim through some obstacles e.g. trees, it is difficult to hold your phone on a fixed azimuth, change screens, and then move to the correct elevation. An improvement would be if the azimuth reading was also on the obstical screen. It is also quite difficult to view the phone screen in these circumstances. The facility to find the correct azimuth and elevation and take a photograph would be great help.
Blocked
Is a good but after certain number of uses, they blocked for year no good!
Wrong GPS
Seems like a really useful app. But the GPS does not match what my dish controller is seeing, nor my iPhone compass. Those two are aligned. Something I can do besides making more figure 8’s with my phone?
Perfect; however, can you add some more birds?
Works as advertised and AR mode solves everything. Could I ask you auto add some additional birds? INMARSAT 2, 3, 4, and 5 series. 16 it total. Thanks.
Useless if opened to many time
I'm a Dish satellite installer and this app would be perfect except if you open or use the app to many time it basically disables itself and you loose all the actual features. Seriously a waste of space if it can't be used on a day to day basis.
Werbung 🤔
Alignment accuracy seems to be random and variable.
No matter how a carry out compass alignment on an IPad running 16.5 the alignment seems to be extremely variable and totally unreliable. Checking against an IPhone, a quality navigation compass and a satnav it’s seems completely random. It’s OK on IPhone running 15.7.6.
Sat finder app
Quite accurate in use
Greatest app for dish location.
Cannot go wrong with this app
horrible
ask you for money to function and steals private information
Satellite Alignment
Works great
Sinnlos
Updated Review
Although I finally just used a compass to align my dish, I may have been premature in my bad review. I thank the developer for their response to my review. My iPhone case is in fact magnetic,,that could explain the erratic signals I was getting and I apologize for my ignorance. I gave it 3 stars even though I'm not sure how accurate it is and because it didn't have the 101 degree Directv satellite location.
Goood
Good
Outdated
Android has the better version
No good on a metal satellite arm
This app works fine away from the metal of the satellite dish, as soon as you place the phone on the arm of the satellite you get a false reading. No metal cases on the phone and compass working correctly.

update
Please update the app beacuce its soo slowly when we want to work on it
Hands down the best sat finder
I’ve tried a couple others, but this one is so accurate I didn’t even have to peak my Directv dish, it just worked. Thanks for a superb app!
Not useful for dish users.
Only shows satellites for directTV and other systems.
Only four stars
Only four stars because there is a error in the database. When you select Galaxy 19 it says 99 when the satellite’s orbital position is actually 97.
Missing satellite
I cant find yahsat among satellites hope you consider it.
Cool idea, not quite finished.
I like the way the map is displayed in the compass, however from York, the Astra 4A satellite is listed as 222 degrees in this app, but 174 degrees everywhere else. This caused multiple hours of confusion. For improvements, would be nice for the map to be zoomable (pinch touch gesture) and possibly fill more of the screen?

No directions on how to use it
Would not recommend
Accurate sat finder
There’s only one problem with this very easy very accurate sat finder, it’s written for direct sat dishes NOT offset dishes. So the elevation shows 33deg here in France but an offset ‘Sky’ type dish lays back at 17deg, otherwise perfect!!
Database lacks some sats
This would be an excellent app if it included the Sirius/XM satellites in its database.
Add nilesite
The app is amazing but I could not find Nilesite.
