Love this App!
This is a great app it is now my favorite studying app. It has helped me to focus and buckle down and study! It has also helped with my short attention span my favorite feature is being able to study with other people in the silent study groups. Download it! You won’t regret it great for college students.
When are we getting new music?
Great app. Needs new lofi music and I’ll change to 5 stars
Can we get a dark icon for the app please?
It's the only one that's blinding white still when switching to the dark iphone customization and it's overstimulating
Disappointed
I started using the app last year and bought a yearly pass. I’m glad I did that before hand before the price got raised up. Most things are locked behind a premium subscription which makes the base app useless. It’s ridiculous to charge 8$ a month or 64$ a year for an aesthetically pleasing study tracking app. I have to cancel and find something else to use now because it’s way too expensive. Functionally is fine. But unless you have a lot of cash to burn it’s time to find something else.
I really love this app but
I love this app. It gives me so much motivation to study and it keeps me focused. But recently I have been left stuck on the loading screen indefinitely which is beyond annoying. I want to love this app but if I can’t even use it it’s kind of difficult
Arabic language
could you make flipd availbale in Arabic language ,there is abig society of arabic users and groups
Forcing people to buy just to pause the timer?
This is unacceptable. You don’t allow free users to pause more than once while on a timer? And you only allow limits of 40 minutes at a time when free apps have it unlimited? That’s wrong. And I have verified myself your so called “ real time studying together” people count is fake……why do you have to use fake numbers? It destroys the credibility of this app I refuse to use a focus app that is locked behind paywalls that should naturally be free for everyone. You developers should be ashamed of yourselves for trying to take advantage of people who seek to improve their lives. Shame on you!!!
Multitasking Feature
I love the overall app but with the multitasking feature if I’m trying to save battery by turning my phone off, it still counts it as multitasking even when I’m not in anything else.
$$$$$$
The functions that ARE free aren’t sufficient for actual productivity. I could compete maybe one task per day with this app, where I’m struggling hard with productivity for hours. It’s a shame that literally every feature is hidden behind a paywall. Installed and uninstalled within five minutes.
I love this app, when it works…
This app is amazing, i don’t care about the locked content, because the basics are free. I just want to use the pomodoro timer! Now my problem, every time i use it as soon as the first break is over it crashes, and i can’t open it. It opens then crashes i open it then it crashes so on until I realize it is futile. The only way to fix this problem is to delete it then redownload it, but that is to much work and to disruptive for a productivity timer. I literally have to put my school down to write this review. Flipd please fix this i love this app but it is unusable!
LOVE this app!!!
I’ve been using flipd for years now and have loved it since downloading!! I prefer the pomodoro method of studying and this really helps me to stay motivated. I love the feature that blocks your other apps and tells you that your timer will end if you click out of the app. I really recommend this if you need to study or concentrate on a task for a specific amount of time.
Take your money elsewhere 😡
When downloaded this app I clicked on it and it went back to the main screen I tried again multiple more times and still crashed I even shut down my device and still didn’t work VERY DISSAPOINTED
Missing some features
Love this app and the idea, really helps me focus when a timer is running and other people are “studying with me”. Love the music and stats feature. For the paid version it is missing some features. Sometimes I mistakenly leave the timer running and I cannot go back and edit my time which ruins my stats. Another feature I wish the app had is the ability to listen to the music without running the timer because sometimes I just want to listen to music without having the timer run and ruin my stats.
Became Greedy
The app was the best free timer, but after the latest update, they made the “delete session” option a premium function. We need to premium subscription just to delete a session now is wild. This is why I hate updating the apps. It’s a scam to charge for something that used to be free. Just make a new feature if you want something to charge for
Incorrect Study Times
I have been using Flipd for months (since this summer earlier, and it is now March and I have not even touched another app). I love the calming art and aesthetics of the app, and the ability to track different subjects, times per week, goals, etc..and to make different timers, stopwatches, and pomodoro clocks. The issue I have is that the timer tracks incorrectly...I studied from 01:26 to 04:46, and yet the timer listed my study time to be 00:46 to 05:26, when in reality it is not even 5 am right now.... This disrupts my perception of productivity and is very upsetting. But the app is wonderful, and I have faith that it will be fixed soon! 😊
I love it
This app has been an incredible companion in my studying journey. It’s simple, effective, and has truly made learning much easier and more enjoyable. I really appreciate all the value it provides. One feature I’d love to see in the future is a web version for Windows — it would make the experience even more accessible and convenient. Highly recommended! ✨
It’s stopped working for me please help
The app doesn’t open anymore
Was great, but one issue!
Update: Rating was at 5 stars and now is 2! It used to block Safari which was a key feature but know it won’t! Please fix this ASAP! You had an amazing app, I regret updating now!! Update: msg be fixed, haven’t found s as my beter app. And folks, $35 a year, really? If most minimum wage jobs pay $15/hr you’ll get that money in 2 hours!! Other apps are too expensive!!!! But I do miss the all in one lock app, before Apple made them divide into separate apps.
Absolutely bonkers pricing
I cannot believe that you are charging people for two SEPARATE apps that should be paired as one. Flipd is a focus app, you should be able to lock your phone apps from it alone, not a separate sister app. ESPECIALLY considering consumers are already paying for the Flipd service (which is essentially just data displayed in a nice layout). Additionally, you can’t even see the pomodoro timer from my locked screen.
Premium cost
Considering this is an app geared to high-school and college students, many of who have no or fixed incomes, the monthly and annual fees are too high. Even tho it was flawed, the app is now offering even less without the lockdown feature (which was removed acc’d to the dev response that was copied and pasted everywhere without letting anyone know if it works any better on the new Focus app). I’m too nervous to even download and try it after reading the reviews about it. All that app and notification resetting? Yikes.
Helpful
Work gets done
No customer service
I have been trying to contact customer service for months, I never received an answer from the developer or customer service.
Good Time Tracker App!
This app in a nutshell tracks activities with a stopwatch feature or pomodoro timer to track time doing tasks. You get stats on time spent on those tasks for the day, week, month, etc. besides that the app implements social features to promote you to keep up with your studies, which is cool but some of the features feel like they’re missing something. Like the group studying, there’s no way to interact with any of the people in a group they’re just icons on a screen. You can follow people but it’s sorta pointless since there isn’t anything to do with the information. I think it’d be really amazing to have a live chat in the groups so it feels like a community. Similar to lofi girl livestreams on YouTube that feels like a community because of all the people in the chat talking AND because you can see the number of people currently doing the same thing as you. It feels like the app is trying to implement social aspects but it’s only really going halfway. Which then makes it feel like the app could be WAY simpler and less visually cluttered if they’re not going to go all in with the features. It’s not a bad app, it just feels like it’s not complete. This isn’t part of my review it’s just a personal preference/ask but I’m really not a fan of the app icon I wish there were maybe 1-2 other choices maybe one of the profile picture characters? It’d be awesome to be able to change it. Thanks!
Notifications
Only send me a weekly summary of my progress if I have used the app, otherwise it is pestering. At least have a way to break down which notifications you have on.
Pretty good except for….
So, i’ll start by saying I generally love this app, there is 1 thing keeping me from buying the year pass actually. That one thing is that the weekly stats are completely wrong, I’m not studying at 1 am, and the chart keeps saying that’s when i’m studying, when you look at the stuff individually, not in the chart, it seems correct though. Yes I know it’s a 24 hour clock, it still is showing up wrong and I have no idea why. Also, for example, I have not studied today, but it’s showing yesterdays hours as todays hours, which makes no sense. This is a serious issue that needs to be fixed . Otherwise the app is wonderful but i can’t justify spending money on an app that isn’t showing things correctly.
Love it
I love this so much. It’s the perfect way to stop procrastinating and get your work done and the music. It has is so relaxing. It’s the perfect app. I love this so much.
Bad
I dont like
Great app for those who need a break from screen time
I love this app! It has really helped me from being on my phone too much. The only downfall is that I cannot access the apps I want during lockdown, such as music apps. The whitelist feature is not available for iPhones.
Ok
Ok but, As a student this is very expensive for a basic timer - won’t be renewing.
It used to be useful
i used to really enjoy using flipd but since they no longer allow you to see your progress for free, i’m disappointed and have moved to a new platform
Great for tracking time studying
I love this app for tracking my time studying throughout the day. Since I am usually able to have small study sessions at a time, this helps me track the total time I’ve spent studying even if it’s only five minutes at a time. This app is helpful to me as I want to hit weekly study goal of a certain amount of hours. My only issue is the premium version being just a little bit too expensive with too little to offer for it.
App won’t load
Every time I try to open the app it closes. If you have tips on how to fix this please tell me.
Super
Excellent
Two different s apps.
I was looking for the app where you can block stuff while you work. It’s the same company, but a different app. I bought something I don’t need. 😭
Comment
I like the design of Flipd, make me feel refreshed. But I dislike: 1 quite vague line between free/ premium features. For example, sometime they allow you to see the statistics, and said they offer you limited time to see, sometime they does not. I would prefer they tell me straightforwardly. 2 price is a bit too high, compared with sooooo many focus app in Apple store.
Love/ Room for new features
Improve my focus and got me finishing my tasks without distractions!!!! I wish the app has somekind of "wrap-up" features where we can share our stats through out a period of time (like how they do with spotify) to friends on other social media.
WAY overpriced
Pros: I liked the layout, design, and the little “ding” the timer makes. Multitask mode was helpful. Cons: there are way too many features hidden behind the paid version, and the price of the paid version is way too much for what this app is. I switched to an app called “focus keeper” which offers way more free services, and the paid version, even though I don’t need it because the free one is so good, costs a quarter of the price of Flipd. I recommend doing your homework on what else is out there before you buy this since better apps exist
Useful
It’s good, but there are limited options with regards to customising your use of the app (e.g changing the length of a study session) unless you pay for the better quality. However, that is understandable. Overall helpful in motivating me personally to study.
It works, but feels very sketchy
They prompt you to create a subscription when you try to do things like pause a running pomodoro timer and don’t actually let you pause it. They funnel you to the subscription very very aggressively. When I started using the app yesterday I was able to pause this timer. Then they took that away from me and ask me to pay a subscription. The app is nice and works - when you don’t hit the paywall - but I do not like these sketchy practices.
Them telling us to pay to pause the time
It’s a good app, but the fact that they tell me to pay to pause the timer is just annoying.
Perfect study
Perfect app. Helps me organize and be aware of my progress. So that i have better planning. The support team answer to my requests which is a good experience of the app
Unusable After Recent Update
I’m so confused as to what happened with this app. I’ve used the premium version consistently for the past eight months and I loved it. But this most recent update has been extremely frustrating for me. Where did all of the tasks go? The only ones I have left are the ones I created myself. There used to be so many options! Which was helpful because it would inspire me to track things that I otherwise might not have thought to track. Why can’t I organize the tasks by grouping anymore? There used to be the ability to group tasks by type and then get a breakdown for how much time was spent on that type of task, such as studies, exercise, and hobbies. Now it seems like every task “tag” is individual without the ability to be connected to other tags. Also, the app will not let me choose any tag that isn’t one of my five most recently used when I’m adding an activity that I didn’t record with the timer. Every time I click on a tag to add it, it thinks I want to edit that tag. I’ve been having to mark my time under the “friends” tag and then go back to edit it later with what tag the activity actually was. Also, all of my time that I add later is from 0:00-0:00. If you’re going to record the time, why not give me the option to edit that to reflect what the time actually was? In addition, the app frequently gets the day that I want to add time wrong now. I’ll click on April 3rd, for example, add the time, and then go back to find it was entered on April 2nd or 4th instead. Since there’s no option to change the date, I’ll have to delete that session, refresh the app, and then go try again and hope that the day I click on is the day that time is actually being added to this time. Also, the wheel-style chart doesn’t work anymore. For me, the only place where I have actual color on the wheel to mark the tasks I’ve completed is under the “year” tab. Today, past 7 days, past 4 weeks…. all of those wheels are blank. I loved this app, used it almost daily, but this recent update has made it almost completely unusable.
Studyholmes
I only got this so i can join my fav instagrammers group The account is ‘studyholmes’ for anyone interested!!
It’s become a cash grab
I have used this app for a year and a half or so now. It used to be really good, and I found all the features really useful. Now I have to pay even to do a 40 minute session? It's entirely unreasonable and the recent developments to the app have made it completely inaccessible to low income people. We're all students and mostly broke so it seems really quite inconsiderate that an app that was founded on such great principles has now become completely focused on profit.
Flipd
I liked the app and the way you can set personal goals, but when they added the premium it started to get extremely annoying.
Absolutely Love ☺️🩵
Larry just start off by saying I have never in my whole 30 years of life taking time of my day to write a review what that being said this app has made a huge difference in my life and I’m beyond thankful for it 🩷😊
Poor time tracker
The time tracking/recording simply does not function properly. With or without breaks included, the tracking for this app is awful. It will like triple the amount of the focus time and breaks, makes no sense. And I’ve reached out to absolutely no assistance. Waste of money.
Great app
I use this app mainly while studying to stay away from my phone. I like that it allows you to take break whenever you need. I would love it if they start the full focus mode on ios app too 😊
Nothing
If you don’t get premium then you will feel limited and restricted Except that the idea is great but not quite right on the app. Anyway, either make premium cheaper or have more for free Thx I hope this helped!
was really good but has gotten worse
I’ve had this app for abit over 3 years now and it was perfect, it allowed me to concentrate on my tasks and choose how long i wanted to be off my phone. But now you have got to pay for most things:( students don’t have the money on the side to pay £35 a month !!
