Dumb design prevents starting over
“ We have designed the game to be persistent, so there is no built-in function to restart. Part of the experience is sticking with your Empire through hardship. On iOS, you can only start a new game on a new device.” That’s really dumb design. So you have to delete the app to start over? Really dumb otherwise a fair space app. Too much of the text is too small to read on iPhone. Why is it rocket science to make text adjustable in size to be read (which would improve sales, DAH! Dimwit under 40 year olds.)?!
Good except
The ui for modules is broken and will not take me to the unlock/ upgrade menu except when no module is available on a battleship (other ship types will not show "open modules")
Unbalanced battles
You will end up fighting with level 99999 while you’re just 100, INSTANT DEATH LOSING GAME AUTOMATICALLY

Do achievements to get crystals that is fair. Also, the achievements are really easy I still don’t get white stars, but it’s OK!
5+ years on..finally getting around to review
Great progression. Strong community in the thousands. And tight knit teams. This is not a pay to win game. It is strategic econ and warfare at its best. Packaged into a nice little app that can be played on other devices and on computer through Steam. If you need any help, just ask for it on the official discord.

Great game but one issue
So I’m stuck on this one bit where the red star scanner cost 20,000 but my inventory space for the money can only get to 18,000 and I really gotta upgrade my planet, but still it’s not gonna let me upgrade them because I can’t get the money, but the main issue is when I tried to do the tutorial for the shipment relay it’s one button I had to press would make the whole game crashed for me and I tried to restart my electronic yet still it happened so please fix this bug. It is super annoying.
G R I N D
This game is really good. That is, until you hit the brick wall of progression. To level up your modules and weapons, you need exponentially more and more blueprints. The higher level and more difficult red star missions drop cargo with more blueprints, but for some reason, after level 5 or so, the cargo will stop increasing the number of blueprints they drop for each module. It stays at around 10 blueprints, even at level 11 cargo. This makes the grind for later game completely absurd and tedious. Fix the grind please!
Same quests
The two things I dislike about this game are that the quests are the same and I can’t get into white stars even though I have joined a group

Game Play
I like the graphics in the music however, the game seems to drag on. I given this game a couple of years and it takes way too long to progress and the fun factor is really low even lower after the update if they want to make the game better they need to address those things then I will re-download it
Bring Back The Old White Star
I’ve been playing this game for years, and thoroughly enjoy the way alliances are implemented. I keep coming back often times just for the sweet fellowship. But please bring back the old version of White Stars. There was more strategy and even minimal rewards for joining. Now it’s more of a winner-takes-all and the promised balance of weaponry and shields never came. It’s mostly about Chain-lasers now.

It used to be a great game..
I was an avid player until the latest update. It was a slower paced game where you could use a combination of strategy and tactics. Now it’s been sped up to where you cannot use all of your assets. It maybe a good game for new players, but not for those who have already invested time and money into it.
Good Game, but increasingly groggy gameplay
Let me say this is a good and wonderfully unique base-builder. However, I'm finding prices increasing very quickly and exponentially, while the storage increases are incremental. This leaves me with a very boring experience where I just farm hydrogen and credits to upgrade storage. Edit: it's gotten to the point I barely check in to see if my hydrogen is full

I’m one of the people that love space games, and they aren’t easy to find. Once I had heard of Hades’ Star, I instantly knew I needed to play it. In this game you find fun, satisfaction, community, and more! Totally recommend - 5 stars!
What a boring game.
This game is basically a reskin of Farmville. Wait for resource bar to fill up, collect resources, upgrade, repeat. And it’s not like an old-school RTS, the resource take forever to accrete. If waiting for bars to fill up is your idea of a good time, then this one’s for you.
Need a Reset Function
This is a great game but I would like the option to reset the game, it allows you to start again and learn from your mistakes. Most other games have this function. This would have been 5 stars otherwise.
bad matchmaking
Blue star (PvP) feels very frustrating to play as the matchmaking sucks. You’re constantly paired up against higher level players with high level modules, making the games an unfair mess.

A game I’ve loved and played on/off for years
The only mobile game that has held my interest for over nearly a decade. Really satisfies the long term progression itch and there’s nothing else quite like the strategic 5-day team vs team matches (called “white stars”) out there. Great game for people who are fans of strategy, and the developer has been very principled about finding ways to generate revenue without micro transactions / pay to win / ads. I just wish content updates were more frequent.

I can’t even get past the title screen. You hit start new game and nothing happens

Love the game, I’m a returning player however I’m disappointed to find I am unable to restart my game progress. As a returning player in a game like this it is hard to refigure out everything from what you have. I’d play the game again if there was a system in place for peoples accounts who have been inactive for a certain time to at least have an option for resetting their account.
Its ok
Its a decent game, but it takes way to long too level up. Its a very slow and boring game and the price for crystals is a little outrageous given how many it takes for certain things. Its a great idea and the graphics are outstanding, but we need more things to do and a lot less waiting. Ive been playing for about 3 weeks now and havent really gotten anything to show for it because it costs so much to level everything up and it takes way too long to make it.
Poor Balancing and Matchmaking
Module balancing is extremely poor. Chain ray far outclasses all other weapons in white star gameplay, and chain ray turret is overpowered, boosting the range and damage of chain ray to where you are destroyed without being able to even touch opponents if they have it a single level higher.

I’ve played for maybe like two hours this game is not a game the wastes your time slow slow progress is my favorite super fun game
Dev says he hates the game
The developer hates the game, and uses it as a cash cow to release his horrible p2w side games that have all failed. I’ve never seen a developer snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in a single game.

Overall it’s a great game although I was disappointed by the fact there isn’t a button which allows you to restart fresh.

Old Player New Game
While I’m not 100% sold on all the changes this is by far one of my favorite games to play. My credit cap did decrease significantly but other than that I still love this game. Even though you can play this game without support from a corporation I’d highly recommend playing this game with others. Cooperative play is much more rewarding now and I enjoy seeing older players as well as newer become more active.

You please for the love of all that is good and holy give me credits. No reason not to. Some small amount to grind for 4th place finishs in Blue Stars. Say 2000. That way it takes 100 4th places to get to max. It is ridiculous the amount of one shottedneas that occurs and I seem to have the worst luck with that to not get something. Thanks. Update 7.29 Also im pretty sure in my blue star grind today I just died for tge 3rd time in a row after destiny-ing into oblivion and getting 4th place. So could you please fix it where the “random” (hahahahahahahahahahahaha riiiiiiight) jump location where it isnt behind the red line. Thanks. Update 3.11.25 Keep getting matched with players way higher in blue stars and insta-dying. Please fix. Thanks!

Decent game but almost no passive income, you only make income when you complete shipping tasks or exploration - which are both manual and overly repetitive tasks. Yawn.
WiFi connection issues
The game good, but it’s lacking proper WiFi support. You can connect via WiFi but it drops out every minute. This happens on any WiFi connection, be it home or work. There support page on the issue is a joke.
Best game ever
Well the best space game but pretty busy is there like you can attack other peoples stars that should be chracked

Lost all progress
I play ever so often. I had to reset my phone for reasons. Now I have to use my "old device" to get my account back. Except my "old device" is the same as the one I am currently using. So its impossible for me to get my account back, because using an email to do so would make too much sense.
Need more Hydro literally all the time
Live this game, been playing years now. The ONLY issue is the lack of hydro, literally all the time and at all levels. Please introduce a hydro factory of some sort.
Interesting but slow to build ur bases and fleets
Interesting game tho very slow to build up ur bases and fleets , and doing missions can be a joke! Everyone clearing the same red star missions so researching anything is nuts!
Good game, trash experience.
Can’t unlink, so when you follow veteran advice and mess up your solar system, you can’t restart to play how you’d actually like to.
Five year player
I’ve been playing this game for over five years. It became I grind and honestly, it really sucked to play. Whitestars turned into a loss-farming wasteland, Bluestars were impossible if you had bad tech, redstars were easy; even new levels were quick to get the hang of and solo complete. The updates give a fresh more competitive feel and even offer a more difficult mode (dark redstar) if your feeling for a challenge.
Bring back the old version
The version before was so much better in terms of graphics and fun.
Good game
I still really enjoy this game after 6 months of playing it in lockdown. Very addictive. It’s a pleasure to form alliances, clear red stars and 15 v 15 corporation white stars and build your system. Just some connectivity problems that are really annoying when your playing a game and it says there’s no WiFi when there is.
good idea, but falls short.
at first i thought this was a great game. the interface is crisp and intuitive, and the slow pace and lack of pvp mean i'm not forced to play more often than i want to. but now i see it's not going anywhere. each upgrade costs twice as much as the previous one, but only gives the same tiny improvement. same goes for "exploration", which just involves spending twice as much on each new sector scanner. the worst part is that loot doesn't grow the same way, so you just have to work harder and harder for smaller and smaller gains. oh and the game makes you THINK you're doing whatever you want, but the strict resource limits and exponential upgrade costs mean you end up stuck to a very predictable play style. so instead of being an interesting "4X" game, it just boils down to "doing what you're told". there's also no pvp element; which sounds good for growing your star system, but gets boring quickly. sure, you can attack red stars with other players, but most players just wait for you to attack the bad guys then steal all your loot. and most importantly, THE TIMERS ARE UNRELIABLE! sometimes a 12hr timer will suddenly finish the next time you log in, and other times it will drag on well into the next day! For a game that is all about waiting for timers to run down, i consider this a fatal flaw. ...and the support team don't even respond to my emails. overall this game is worth a look, but don't get invested until they fix the timers and start incentivising late-stage gameplay better. -az
Potentially great!
Lovely graphics and cool vibes. Everything just takes too long! Ships should be capable of automation so they just keep collecting once they are created allowing you to explore and expand into new galaxies and take on the bad guys.
