The Best and Excellent Weather app
I’ve tried just about every weather app available for the Mac over the years, and Forecast Bar is, without question, the best weather app I’ve ever used. The menu bar integration is clean, fast, and incredibly convenient. I can see current conditions, detailed forecasts, radar, hourly and extended weather, all without opening a separate application. It’s highly customizable, lightweight, and always reliable. What really sets Forecast Bar apart is the attention to detail. The interface is beautiful, the information is accurate, and it’s obvious that the developer cares about creating a quality product. Whether I’m checking the weather for my local area or planning travel, it has become an indispensable part of my daily workflow. If you’re looking for a Mac weather app, I highly recommend Forecast Bar. It’s worth every penny and, in my opinion, it’s the best weather application available for macOS.

I used to enjoy this app but it now requires a paid subscription to use. there are much better options out there.
Weather Stories and Outlooks
Liking the updates. Would like to see more information like SPC and WPC updates and push notifications. Also, weather temperature trends and model comparisons would be helpful.
Radar
The radar is a joke. Has to do a 30-40 frame count before loading. Good app otherwise. If looking to buy a weather app I’d probably pass on this one just because of the Radar.
Worse and more costly now
This used to be a fine app that I paid for happily. In the past several months, weather map feature has lost its simplicity and speed. I’m going to try a different weather app.
So handy
I love this app because it gives me a high-level overview of everything I need to know in one place. Plus, it’s easy to expand for more info!
Abandoned
Widgets stopped working. App has trouble loading even basic forecasts. Developer responded only after months of app not working. Don’t trust it. After no response for months, suddenly “new features are coming”? I think someone’s automatic, unattended cash cow ran out. I’ve moved on to HeyWeather.
Great but Watch Widget is Broken
I love this app. But the watch widget is always broken. We want the 5-day forecast to work always be working.
Latest rewrite ugh
Updated review: They have improved (restored) the appearance now, provided you have time to tweak all the settings, but the need to go through all that again after an update is a pain. That's why I'll let the review below stand. (I'm also no longer receiving any pollen data. Change in their data source? I don't (or no longer) see a setting for that, so who knows..) PREVIOUS: Maybe I'll grow to like the rewrite, but right now I can say that having to redo all my settings and get used to the new, far less polished look wasn't much fun. Color me irritated. Things are too busy now and thus less useful. All the backgrounds are busy too. Accessibility and usability have taken big hits. Have unsubscribed after years of regular usage.
Nice but buggy.
I like it but app is buggy. Astronomy notification does not stay on and widgets are buggy. Also live activities will say it’s raining when snowing. Needs work.
Hands down best weather app!
Hands down the most customizable and accurate weather map. Not to mention the developers are super responsive to questions. I am a weather geek so have a bunch but when I want to know what it’s actually going to be doing outside today, tomorrow, even a few days from now this is thr goat.
Do not download! You’ll get charged even for the trial.
I downloaded the app for a seven day trial. A little too busy for me. I canceled the subscription just about an hour after I downloaded it for the trial. Still got charged for a one year subscription. Called Apple and still waiting to see what happens. Absolutely ridiculous.
Great app
Love the widgets but one thing for the daily forecast medium sized widget could you possibly put in an option for one average temperature for each day instead of high and low like some other weather apps
Unwanted notification
I keep getting earthquake notifications even though I have them turned off. So annoying!
The BEST I’ve Used!
After using it for a week I can say it’s well thought out, but the price of the ‘gold’ plan is questionable. The app doesn’t do much more than others that are free. Plus the App Store shows plans ranging from 49 cents to $20! How do you know which plan to buy?
All the Info all the time
I have Forecast Bar on my MacBook Pro and iPhone and it gets a lot of use. From whether my golf is going to happen to should I have the driveway shoveled. Tech support is rarely needed but always available.
Paid for widgets now they don’t work
Cancelled my renewal next month because widgets stopped working. App shows my subscription level but widgets still won’t work. Stopped about 30-60 days ago and update doesn’t fix. Find another app.
Great support
Very customisable, and with great support. Although it looks appealing, it’s a bit cluttered in conveying information.
Widgets no longer work.
I’ve have been using this app on all of my Apple devices for over two years with no problems. Earlier last week I noticed that the widget no longer displays any info unless you open it. I reached out by email with no response. I will most likely be canceling my service if I don’t receive anything shortly.
Widget does not reflect the app settings
I like the app a lot for many reasons. One of the very useful features is that it allows you to choose your radar. The Dark Sky is pretty accurate for my area so I choose that one. However, the widget still defaults to the Weather Company on iPad, which makes the widget feature very useless no matter how versatile it is. Can the developers look into this issue please? Otherwise, the app is a five star app.
Nothing better for the Apple Watch
I missed dark sky when apple bought it and shut it down This is far better for a modest price The middle complication tells you everything
This was a good app...
Subscription expired, tried to renew and bronze option is gone. Support never responds. Horrible customer service. Other options out there guys - respond To your subscribers before they’re all gone.
Customisable
Great but needs to avoid getting too complicated. Also watch app notifications incorrectly label temp as Centigrade when show Fahrenheit levels

Temperature on watch doesn't update frequently enough even though I have it set to fast.
Exceptional Improvement to an Excellent App
Been using Forecast Bar for years and recently wondered how it was better than Mac’s standard weather app or third party competitors. Then they upgraded its features including AI summaries and refined graphics. It is now Best in Class by a country mile with customization options to see precisely what you want in the drop down menu. Highly Recommended.

There’s a problem with the widgets when you update the app the widgets don’t show up the the shop a blank screen and when you turn your phone off and on again sometimes the widgets don’t show up and I’ll be at them and they still don’t show up please fix it would it need a lot of fixing in this app and then it would get five stars I got it just for the widgets and they don’t all work all the time
No working Celsius on the watch app
Apart from the lack of celsius readings on the watch (setting is there but broken) this is the best of 10 that I’ve tried -other than the most expensive apps. You can choose The Weather Companies’s data which is the best by far in Alberta. Reasonably priced, wonderful phone app and very accurate.
My FAVE weather app
My wife is always checking this app for those feature and another app for that feature. I showed her ForecastBar - and she’s like, yup, I’ll get that! We both love it! accumulated rain, radar, hourly, 2 weeks ahead, sunrise, sunset — all in the same app. LOVE IT.
The subscription
Darn it it’s don’t do anything until you subscribe to the app unfair and no X bottom and my in app pay is disabled because of Charlotte what wrong with the weather app fix this problem or I’ll never redownload again
Très belle présentation visuelle et facile d’utilisation
J’utilise cette application autant sur mon Mac, mon iPhone que sur mon Apple TV et elle répond à mon besoin de connaître la météo rapidement, facilement avec une très belle présentation des données. Cependant, je déplore la traduction en français qui est incomplète et qui contient des erreurs. C’est désagréable pour un francophone. C’est la raison principale pour ne pas attribuer une cinquième étoile! Merci de faire des efforts pour améliorer cet aspect lors des prochaines versions.
'Feels like' calculation needs work
Nice app but the number displayed in the 'Feels like' is way off. If the current temp is 23C and the humidity is 82% the Humidex reading is 27C not the 23C that is displayed. Please fix.
Going down hill
This used to be an elegant and simple app. Now you've. added a ton of premium content that just makes it necessary to close and reopen almost every time I use it. You have me looking for a replacement. How about rather than trying to add levels of payment you focus on not breaking things for your already paying customers.
The future is here
I am constantly searching for the perfect news or weather app weekly. I have never downloaded an app with so much customizability or accuracy in the last 20 years of owning smart phones. Quick customer service offering help with any of my app questions or needs combined with accurate weather and an unreal amount of customizable options, this is my new go to weather app. It's everything I've ever wanted in an app, and it's all organized my way, worth the small subscription fee easily. if you don’t download this app and grab the subscription, you’re missing out.
Doesn’t work
App says I need a silver subscription to get widgets. I bought a silver subscription. I still don’t have widgets. I have no idea how to fix this.
Worth every penny
I wish all iPhone apps were this good. Kudos to the designers and developers. Amazing job. Please keep it simple because that's what makes this one of the best apps available.
Inaccurate
It is so difficult finding a weather app that doesn't include my small town with the closest major city. I have no choice but to select the city which is a half hour drive away and then I get completely inaccurate weather notifications. I went to see what time a storm was starting the other day and Forecast Bar said 0% chance of rain for the next week. Well, any other app said differently and it rained steady for two days. So annoyed I already paid for it on my Apple TV but at least I can save my money and not subscribe on my phone and Mac.
Needs more testing
Getting ‘missing data’ a lot on the watch middle complication. In app purchase trial ended. Tried hitting premium trial. Nothing happens.
Forecast Bar Works and Works Well
It it nice to look up at the menu bar and see the temperature at a glance. It is even nicer to click on in to see what the weather has in store. I’ve found this app to be as accurate as others, and much handier while I’m working. Definitely worth the subscription.
Changed my subscription!
I paid for the full subscription which gave me access to all the layers on the map. A new update and feature set now requires me to pay for an additional subscription to get access to the layers I initially had! REFUND ME PLEASE!
Best weather app in store
In my opinion this is the best weather app in the store. It has excellent app control in the settings menu on the phone and the watch widget interface is the best available. Customer support is amazing. U.K. Customers have reduced functionality.
Nice but Deceiving
Very nice weather app , but it's very deceiving. I got it free from a download of the day website and worked awesome for a couple of days until the new update on Oct, 22. Now after the new update it won't work now because it wants me to buy it. That really sucks. Another app with a hidden secret and agenda! DELETE!!
Reminders stuck on (null)
I have tried setting different default lists with overdue and upcoming reminders and only getting null. 5 stars if u can fix asap

Great - all the weather I need
Best weather app but…
I'm a big fan of weather apps and have used many over the years. My job demands accurate weather reports. I find this app to be the best I've ever used for so many reasons. Soon as it prompted me for a subscription I was immediately disappointed. Why can't you just charge a flat 1 time fee for the app and I would oblige, within reason. So looks like I'm back to the hunt for another app. It's not that the subscription fee is expensive, I'm just not a fan of these types of apps that have recurring fees.
Subscription based
The 'included' or 'not included' settings appeared to have no effect, and I noticed that I had been automatically subscribed for a trial period, which was not made clear on the App Store page. I'd rather own my apps outright, so I deleted this within minutes and bought Dark Skies. Nic
