The app works fine now. The quality of the journalism is some of the finest in the city and, quite likely, the region, which is a lot to say considering the current state of affairs.

Cannot share the content properly on MeWe
Hi! Developer, I found such issue on iOS 15.5. After pressing share icon, and select “all” for reading, there is only verbal message shown only on MeWe post there. There is no content and its link shown for the reader. No such issue found on Facebook or other social media. Just on MeWe! Would it be solved for MeWe users if available? Thanks!

the layout of the app is insanely un-intuitive… how do u launch a news app and not be able to read news of the day on the front page… this looks more like an archive to me… please fix this. and it would be great if u could turn this into a gidget(?) for iphone too.

I’m having the same problem just a blank screen, it worked fine when I lived in HK but since moving back to the UK nothing.

I don’t know what’s wrong, but the app just won’t load on my IPhone 8. The problem persists even after re-installing.

Exactly what I’ve been waiting for!
For the still growing hkfp, this is an excellent upgrade!! I can’t wait for things like live blog coverage and even faster (and more content), so I can further migrate from other sources which are unfortunately still needed for the time being
App won’t work
Nothing shows up when I open the app save the 3 navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen. Otherwise it’s just a blank white screen.
Big fan of the press but not the app
The app is terrible. It was merely a portal to the mobile website with no intention to be a proper app. And right now the app does not work at all. Please fix the app. I am a huge fan of the Hong Kong Free Press and it is really frustrating. The app does not deserve any star, that additional star is for the press.

Great newspaper, great app update
This excellent independent news source once had a great app, but for a long time failed to update it and the app became non-functional. This is the reason for many poor reviews. I am very happy to see this new app update; HKFP app is once again a reliable and trusted source of news in a rapidly evolving city-state.
No content
App installs fine but when it starts up there is just a blank screen. Nothing happens however long I wait. It’s a shame as the screenshots in the App Store look great!
Great content, horrible app
While the articles themselves are great, the app itself is horribly and lazily designed. All you did was take the website and make that your app. Did the person who made this app do it for free? Even then, you paid too much. This horrible interface designed for desktop use and not mobile, with a lack of sharing options and proper mobile navigation, is the single greatest obstacle for me to use this app.

I have downloaded the app both on my friend’s phone and mine, but none of they works. A blank page appears when I open the app and I can’t see any news on the app. Please fix the problem as I really appreciate your work and want to read your news on app more conveniently.

Total waste of time, app doesn’t work as all you get is a blank screen. Maybe that’s why it’s free, or maybe there no free news left out there.

HK needs an independent English news source, thank you for this great contribution - especially since SCMP was bought by Alibaba. However, the apps user interface is a disaster. I don't understand why Apple approved this app consisting of web views... It is terribly slow even on wifi or LTE and photos embedded in articles can't be enlarged.

Fantastic app. Very topical to HK and great opinion pieces. A must have for the English-speaking citizen in HK.
Great newspaper, awful UI
The UI makes the app almost impossible to navigate, with huge load times, only forward/back/reload navigation instead of menus. Not worth downloading at all, just read through your browser.
