Update 9/2/26: App is MUCH worse after latest update!
NEW REVIEW: The latest version of the app makes it far more unstable when dealing with streaming sites. If a pop-up notification appears while you are watching a video, you now have to reload the page and cue the playhead to roughly where you were watching, because it KILLS your full screen viewing (either the screen goes black with only captions showing, or a mini icon appears over the enlarge icon to prevent you from clicking it, or the enlarge icon isn’t obscured but doesn’t work). The fact that damn near every streaming site already has a counter for this last update before it even dropped points to a conclusion that the users of Firefox Focus were betrayed by Firefox. Users can’t trust anybody after HTML 3. It only benefits the corporations, not the people. ORIGINAL REVIEW: The newest update has created a bunch of issues with many streaming sites, it seems. If you click on a video and expand the screen, you better not stop and do anything else in the middle, or you may have to reload the entire screen. This has happened on EVERY streaming site that I’ve visited since the update. What makes this worse is the extremely vague description of the update, so you have no clue what you are getting into before you download it. You can’t trust anybody in this iteration of HTML. I’m considering abandoning streamed content entirely.

Saving sites-difficult
Privacy appears to be working well. I am having trouble saving/bookmarking sites I go to often. Also, I have not found a way to delete saved sites no longer used.
Find in page (ctrl F) is BROKEN in FF 155.0
Sorry to address this here but this critical function is not working in the latest desktop version of FF and I don't know how else to bring to your attention. CTRL F does not bring up a search box except in troubleshoot mode. There is no indication of which if any extension could be causing this.
My go-to browser
I drown in tabs. Having no tabs and no history is just what I need to keep using my phone as a tool and not a black hole of wasted time.

safari extension?
i love this app so much. i am encountering a problem turning on the safari extension. when i go in my phone's settings for safari there's no checkbox for firefox focus. otherwise love this app 100% 6 stars
“Open and erase”
I am getting worn out from opening my phone only to discover that Firefox is once again telling me to open my phone and erase Firefox content. This started happening about six months ago and hasn’t stopped. If I cannot get this to stop, I will have no alternative but to cease using it, trash it, and find something else.

But could use a lot of updates almost going back in time using this. And you need more open on Firefox page, 3 doesn’t cut it! But other that I love Firefox and will always use it 7-2-1977 having trouble with opening my rewards on American spirit app. When I try to open my rewards or coupons it’s saying it opens better on portrait mode or not able to open on desktop or cannot open on phone or tablet??? I’m not tech savvy so please help me with what to do. I already wikid’ it but no bueno?! My steam is blowing hard!!!🧖♀️😤♨️ Aug 2026 I just found out they have a partnership with Google. But still pride yourself and advertise privacy exclusive search engines!? I’m sorry but I feel that anything with Google is private or secure. 🔐🕵🏻♀️🥸

Recently lost the ability to back key out of need.google.com stories reliably
What happened to the ability to use the back key when reading news on news.google.com? Sadly, it looks as if Google, advertisers, and shady news sites have gained an upper hand. This is relatively recent, approximately early August 2026. Read a story. Or several. Eventually you’ll come across one that’s made it impossible to back out of. Please fix. And please make it easier to provide direct feedback. No I’m not creating a Firefox account to provide feedback.
Dark Mode Icon?
My biggest complaint is that from such a big developer you’d think they’d have official dark mode support for their icon. I want it on my homescreen to use as my main browser, but it sticks out like a sore thumb next to everything else.
No Extension & Suggestions
*****EDIT 8-16-26***** It’s “interesting” that the developer has ceased responding to reviews since the infamous “June Update” that screwed everything up. My “Alexa” device tells me they only respond via some forum now (I HATE forums… I get too much spam on my accounts in the mail app & rarely see LEGIT email notifications so I pretty much gave up checking email except to clear out the spam folder about once every 1-2 months) yet HOW ARE PEOPLE WRITING REVIEWS SUPPOSED TO MAGICALLY KNOW THIS?!?! 🤷🏻♂️ - Btw, I haven’t updated my app since I first downloaded it sometime last year (2025) because I ALWAYS CHECK THE RECENT REVIEWS BEFORE UPDATING ANYTHING‼️ - You can see my original review from Jan 2026 below… 👇🏼 & please DO read my #4 comment in it since they’re now doing EXACTLY what I praised them for not having done prior to June. ************* _ _ _ _ _ _ ***ORIGINAL JAN 2026 REVIEW*** 👉 1) The app shows that there’s a Safari extension included in the app, but when I go to my Safari settings in my iPhone settings I see zero extensions whatsoever for anything. 👉 2) Even when I try to share or copy a link, it doesn’t always share the correct link… especially if it’s from the same website and I’ve navigated to a different part of the website and I’m trying to copy or share that link. It always tends to share/copy the original page link I opened or the previous page’s link. I can’t figure out how exactly it is determining what link it is copying/sharing but it is not doing so with the link for the page that I am actually on. 👉 3) I would like to be able to close the app without losing the content that I was looking at. Sometimes I have to close it to do something else or because somebody has come over and it’s impossible to find where I was or what I was reading. 👉👉 4) I appreciate that you don’t update your app all the time like most apps do. If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it is my motto. but there are a few tweaks that need to be made without actually changing anything to do with the way the app otherwise currently works.

Liars! This App Does Not Block Ads!
Firefox browser says it will block ads but youtube ads are not blocked. Brave browser doesn’t lie and truly blocks all youtube ads and is still the best browser for privacy. Period.

So I like that you can click close a page with one press of a button, but unfortunately, it's in a bad location because when you fat finger the garbage can button sometimes instead of closing the page it opens the settings button and then hits the remove shortcut button. It only really happens with youtube.com, but it keeps removing my Shortcuts and then I have to reset three different shortcuts. If I didn't have this happen multiple times a day this would otherwise be a perfect review.

Nearly Perfect Performance
Aside from 1 or 2 Quirks, Firefox Focus Runs Smoothly. i Do Note a Bug with Sharing YouTube Links. Unless you go Directly To the Video you wish to share, Much Of the Time, it will Simply Share the YouTube home page instead. While i experienced 1 or 2 similar instances on other sites, it was Mainly YouTube where that Was most Noticeable. [August 2026 Update] I REALLY, REALLY Wish They Would Put The “Trash Button” Back Where It WAS. They Swapped The Location Of The “Reload Page” Button & “Trash Button” Or AT LEAST Give Us The Option To Customize The In-App Interface.

I would give 5 stars if the app had a Reader view. Some sites are still unusable without a plain text mode.
Decent and Respectable But 🤝
Since the Birth and Rise of The Super Cookies. Our ability to protect our Privacy was made nearly impossible! The only people that were happy about this is every single Corporation that wants to follow you everywhere and SELL YOU ANYTHING AT ALL! I deleted those Cookies once a week and now they are a Real Job To Hunt Down And Delete! At this point in History, GOOGLE is like the Sun and the Moon!

This is a great app for iPhone 7+ to replace the awful YouTube app and my only comment/wish would be to have an on/off switch for blocking shorts from the UI entirely, like Brave browser does.Unfortunately I can't get Brave browser to install on iOS 15.8.7 so I am happy with Mozilla for now and hope that someone at Mozilla is actually reading these reviews and will make a small effort to add a switch.

Can’t open multiple pages, can’t bookmark, can’t print or save or do ANYTHING besides search and view page.
Extensions
To Apple and Firefox, if you want to complete iOS with associated web browsers please add more features such as extensions to block annoyances, pop ups and random ads that takes to to multiple of tabs, or at least add a toggle option through General settings so extensions can be used on all web browsers that we know and love. Please allow users to reposition the Remove button.
On Firefox Focus, the Remove button is poorly placed. It’s very easy to tap it accidentally when reaching for the keyboard, which can result in pages being wiped out unintentionally. It would be really helpful if users could customise the button’s position on the screen so they can move it to a location that’s less likely to be tapped by mistake.

Auto clear
Updated 09 02 26 when is Firefox going to introduce auto delete function ie clear the web page function after 12 hours say as available in settings on other browsers? Since the latest so called "fix" airdrop is no longer working through firefox focus. Just receiving a notification in on home screen but no web page opening in the app. Obviously it is impossible to find a solution from Apple or "tech" people.
Was fine, now unusable.
Not quite sure what happened, as I was using this for a while, but I now cannot type a single thing in the address/search bar, rendering the entire browser unusable. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, plus rebooting my iPad, which didn’t help. A shame, really, as I quite liked the simplicity of this browser. Hopefully they’ll fix it to work again at some point.

Safari, as well as Firefox has the URL bar at the bottom, but not Firefox Focus. As someone who has a larger iPhone, it would be great to have the option, even if it’s just a toggle. Many thanks!
Known Bug - No Fix, Yet.
After iPad OS 26 update, Firefox Focus isn’t activating input field for Bluetooth keyboards. It’s a known issue for nearly a year and it’s been reported by many users but no fix yet.
