When I first started using it, it had a hard time getting cover pictures. But it is getting better at it.

Bien mais 1 bémol
Cette app est vraiment au top et mérite largement son prix pour la gestion d'une discothèque volumineuse. Très paramétrable. 80% de mes CD sont trouvés par le code barre, 15% par la recherche web et 5% à saisir manuellement. Un must ! Un petit bémol : je synchronise plusieurs appareils iphones et ipad via icloud. Parfois un appareil refuse de récupérer les derniers éléments. En général il suffit de désactiver puis réactiver la synchro. Une fois j'ai du supprimer l'appli puis réinstaller.

Ich hatte die große Hoffnung, die CD-Sammlung meiner Frau mal durchorganisieren zu können. Pustekuchen! Trotz Barcode werden die meisten CD nicht gefunden. Und auch manuell geht kaum was. Da man viele von diesen CD doch nicht in den Streaming-Portalen findet, wäre es doch eine feine Sache, wenn man eine vollständige Aufstellung in dieser App hätte. Warum wird Musik für Kinder so stiefmütterlich behandelt?

So I have had this app for a long while…5-6 years. It was during Covid when I had too much time on my hands. I downloaded this app, Music Buddy Pro (along with the app for dvd’s and books) and got to work. I have a decent cd collection, in excess of 500 and it was so easy to catalog each one. Just scan the upc code and ALL the info about the cd is now at your fingertips! How many times in the past I would buy a cd (or dvd or book) then find out I already had it at home. Now I have an inventory of it all. Easy to search within the app for artist, song etc. I love these apps. I would give 10 stars if I could.

update: i told my dad who got me into vinyl about the app and he was so sad it’s not available on android, please try and work on that because there is definitely a few people i know who’d be interested!! i downloaded this app after almost having a brain aneurysm in the middle of a walmart trying to remember if i already owned a copy of certain vinyl, the store wasn’t exactly close to home so i was worried i wouldn’t be able to get it again. it was becoming all to stressful as i was in a rush so i just left without it, when i got home i realized i did have the album… but not the deluxe version that walmart was selling. after going all the way back to get it, on the car ride home i decided to try and make a list in my notes app of what vinyls i already had so this wouldn’t happen again. but with having to manually enter every detail, not being able to organize it cohesively, the list getting lost amongst my other notes, having to remember that i have a list, and then having to go search for it, it was just far too difficult. once my collection outgrew the small ikea shelf it lived on i knew i needed to find a way to be able to keep track of it. after trying a few apps i found this one and it was truly perfect, i instantly purchased the plus version and it’s been SO worth it. i’m easily able to keep track of my nearly 200 vinyls with zero issues. i usually don’t leave reviews but i absolutely love this app and just had to. the only feedback i have is that i’d really love if there was a field to see how much of a vinyl was pressed. having a field to see i have 1 of say 5000 copies would be super cool, especially if it was a field that could be filled from online (discogs) like some of the other ones!

premetto di essere un musicista “classico” con la passione per i libri e il cinema. dopo molti giorni di intenso uso delle tre app credo di poter esprimere un giudizio equilibrato. le tre app hanno davvero molti punti di forza: rapidità, uso intuitivo, una certa duttilità, un interfaccia accattivante e buone possibilità di filtrare il database. ma passato il primo, giustificato momento di entusiasmo nel quale credevo di poter far presto a catalogare circa 2.000 DVD/BluRay, altrettanti CD e diverse migliaia di libri n più, ho rilevato alcune manchevolezze di ciascuna delle app. In particolare: BookBuddy+: non è in grado di leggere i codici ISMN, quelli coi quali sono segnate il migliaio di partiture che possiedo; MusicBuddy+: ottimo per tutta la musica “leggera”, ma non riesce a reperire circa il 40% dei CD di musica “classica”, anche di case importanti quali Sony, Decca e Apex; MovieBuddy+: anche qui un limite abbastanza pesante relativo ai BluRay; moltissimi non vengono riconosciuti. in sintesi, gli sviluppatori dovrebbero fare ulteriore lavoro per agganciare il motore di ricerca ad altri database per consentire un utilizzo davvero soddisfacente. credo basterebbero poche righe di programma.
Been using for a decade
This has been my goto for cataloging my vinyl collection for the last decade. The only thing I wish it had was a way to share a library database among family members so that we could all use it for the group collection.
Tried and found the best app!
Thanks to shopping around and another app wanting too much money for a similar product. But I like this one much better than theirs so I bought this app and glad I did too! THX!!!!
Beste Archivsoftware am Markt
Habe schon einiges getestet, das hier ist das Beste was es zur Zeit gibt. Eine Kleinigkeit gibt es natürlich immer, aber man kann sich über einen Link im Zusatztext auch mehrere Bilder verknüpfen. Ich hätte gern direkt mehr Bilder der LP Cover auf einen Blick. Nun ja, eins tut es auch. Idee für die Zukunft: Bild/Text-Erkennung beim Scannen und Erkennen von Duplikaten und schnellerer Recherche ohne Texteingabe. Habe alle drei Module im Einsatz, Music-Movie-Book, funktioniert hervorragend. Eigene Felder und Filter machen das Ganze individuell anpassbar, Sicherung in die Cloud auch automatisch. Weiter so!
Findet viele CDs nicht
Habe sehr hoffnungsvoll das Paket mit Film-/Buch-/CD-Katalog-App gekauft… jetzt findet die CD-App allerdings viele CDs gar nicht… Classical scheint nicht die Stärke des Programms zu sein, auch eine Online-Suche ergibt keine Treffer. Schade!

In dicembre ho catalogato 300 CD, ma ieri ho aperto l’app e, dopo aver segnalato un aggiornamento, mi ha mostrato un catalogo con solo 5 CD e per giunta non miei. Qualunque cosa sia accaduta, l’app si è rivelata inaffidabile nell’arco di 3 mesi

I love the details and options this app has to offer! I bought pro version and love it. The only two things i wish i could do is import my itunes library. And have it set up to veiw per song track and not album. Some albums i only have 1 or two tracks for. That way i can see how many songs i have and make a playlist based on songs instead of albums. The albums do have a tracks section in the info but i have to delete all the tracks i dont have on itunes. Overall great app.

Shortlist
There aren’t many apps I recommend & both the book & music apps make that shortlist. I find myself here for the review after seeking the link to send to a music loving friend. They’re keepers - not destined for deletion anytime soon! I suppose I should mention I appreciate how it lets me catalog physical books, Apple & Kindle ebooks, and audiobooks in one place in a way I know where they reside in a glance. Moreover, it provides for a wishlist, loan list, & previously owned. I’m sure I’m omitting other useful features as I’m writing what comes to mind. I suppose it would be nice to have the apps BEFORE amassing an unwieldy media collection. That said, the apps make adding titles about as easy can be imagined… unless it might be possible to lay a half dozen books out barcode side up & find multiple titles at once… My final word? I’d buy them again without hesitation.

Not just for vinyl collectors
I have been on a kick of listening to the debut albums of many artists, both that I like and of just well known artists I have never listened to beyond their singles. This app allows you to search online and find the album, then you can’t add custom tags to mark them in different ways. I have debut, 2nd album, 3rd, etc., how I own it (CD, Vinyl, Digital), or if it’s one I listened to on a streaming playlist, which is the majority, I have a tag for that as well. I would have started using this app years ago had I known about it!

Ok. More like a 99cent App
The app is ok. I’ve only loaded 75 or so CDs into the app and have noticed the following: “The” counts as a word when alphabetizing, other apps ignore articles in titles for alphabetizing; I’ve been able to “stump” the app quite a few times with CDs that aren’t found in whatever databases it is utilizing. I’ve had to manually add quite a few of the 75 titles. It makes me hesitant to start on the remaining 3000.

I have been waiting for an app like this for decades. Literally. An amazing database that actually works. Very stable. Allows you to import and export. Recognizes an incredible amount of music and artists. It's easily customizable to fit your specific needs in the data you want to know and access. Bravo. The one thing they could do to break it would be to move the databases online and charge a monthly fee. But that would make them into just another crappy scam app. So, please don't. It will ruin everything. I like my information kept local where I can control it. As tempting as it might be, it's a terrible way to do business. No matter how hip it seems to make you look.

Sync leaves a lot to be desired.
I do not trust the sync feature. When syncing between Ipad and IPhone I get duplicate entries and entries that I had previously deleted or entries I had editied with the old edits still in place which completely makes syncing unusable for me. I recently purchased a new IPad. I backed up the files on my old IPad and transferred them. All the files from this app did not transfer to my new IPad. I am glad I kept my old IPad because now I have to manually transfer the missing information. Other than that I enjoy this app very much.

Movie/Book/Music Pro
These apps do not authenticate out of print, older editions, 2disc and 2movie collections. If you have a simple collection, it appears to be awesome. But if you are a collector- and I am- you are outta luck.

Great tool to keep track of physical music
I use this tool ALL the time. There are many features that I am still discovering. Reasons to get this app: 1) Support is EXCELLENT !! I had a question last night, and i got a clear (and helpful) response this morning. 2) Searching by song. When you load a CD or vinyl into your MusicBuddy library, most of them include a track list. You can search your library by a specific song name. So (for example) you can easily find all versions of “Limehouse Blues”. 3) Searching by artist. If you have a compilation album (e.g.”Various Artists”), and the track list contains the artist name along with the song (most do), then you can find all songs by an artist, even if it’s on a compilation. 4) You have immense flexibility with your loaded entries. If you can’t find the record online (a rare event), you can add it. You can add or edit tracks. If the online entry doesn’t have the cover, you can add a picture. 5) Simple backup procedures, which also allow you to view your catalog with a desktop computer. Summary: for me, an indispensable app !!!
Wonderful app for cataloging music collections
Music Buddy is a remarkable app for cataloging and browsing my extensive music collection, which include cds, cassettes, LPs and mp3s. The interface, while fairly utilitarian, is easy to use and offers a wide range of information to be stored for any given record. My one suggestion to the developers would be to have it so that artist names were automatically alphabetized by last name. I have to go in and replace “Bob Dylan” with “Dylan, Bob” to show correctly in the list. Overall, this is a wonderful app and I will be using it for many years to come.

Best Catalogue App By Far!!
Recommend using seller's other catalogue apps if needed as well, you will not be disappointed. Everything seems to already be Indexed, all you have to do is scan a barcode/search, and add to your library! It backs up to your personal cloud with absolutely no hassle. I've had to restore from my cloud backup a few times after replacing my phone. Only wish is that they would offer an Android version of their apps.
