Une des meilleures application de routage
Excellente optimisation qui sont livrées au fur et à mesure. Reste quelques petits bugs à corriger pour éviter des plantage mais la direction est la bonne ! La tarification à la semaine est vrmt génial

Buggy, math errors
I would like the app, except it is very buggy. For example, it will route me on tight angles like TWA 40 degrees when my polars are super slow at that angle and I’ve entered in the advanced options to not go tighter than TWA 60. Or when it has me going 1.2 knots in 12 knots true wind speed and 11 knots apparent, which doesn’t match my polar at all. Or the confusion between boat speed and SOG: if I set it to motor a given speed in a strong current it doesn’t correctly add in how the current impacts my SOG. Often squid does give me reasonable routes for simple cases in open water and minimal current… but in complicated cases with stronger currents and complicated routes it’s useless.

Cette nouvelle version est une amélioration. La lecture des meteogramme serait toutefois plus facile si les décimales n’apparaissait pas dans les valeurs de vent Je regrette toujours la lecture des meteogrammes de la version initiale (notamment sous forme de courbes) Mais je continue à l’utiliser

Ça a l’air très bien cette nouvelle version. Mais la cartographie est réduite à sa plus simple expression. Avant j’avais quand même un minimum de carte ! Pourquoi l’ai je perdu sans compter toutes mes routes précédentes et autres polaires perso ? Cordialement

Nouvelle version Squid mobile ne fonctionne plus
La dernière version de squid mobile ne fonctionne plus. Impossible de télécharger les fichiers. Carte graphique de moins bonne qualité qu’avec la précédente version. Je paie un abonnement depuis 6 mois pour rien…
Passerelle ipolar
Super appli, excellente pour la météo, avec un vrai plus pour le routage. Serait il possible d'intégrer une passerelle depuis ipolar pour pouvoir utiliser nos propres polaires des bateaux qui ne sont pas de série comme sur la version PC? Merci.
Last version 4.0.7 is unusable !
I was a big user of squid. I have released a lot of knowhow to other sailors but the new version is a joke. Map not appear, functions are not available, simply … unusable! I am paying it and during this period with a lot of regatta this is a nightmare. I am moving to other product

Ne fonctionne pas. J’ai essayé à plusieurs reprises de télécharger le modèle GFS (22km) et rien ne se passe….
Pas très pro
Un logiciel qui ne fonctionne pas et une société incapable d’apporter une solution trois jours après que le problème lui a été signalé! C’est pas très pro! Si le service n’est pas au rendez-vous par contre la facture arrive dans les cinq secondes et le logiciel vous propose de prendre un nouvel abonnement!!!

De oude app was perfect voor mij. Deze versie heeft minder functies, niet overzichtelijk. Ik zal op zoek moeten gaan naar een andere app.
Good but
- Same subscription but impossible to sync Squid X with Squid Mobile. Why? - Impossible to export custom Polar in either Squid X nor Squid Mobile. I have to re-enter all data manually again? - Impossible to enter coordinates manually in Squid Mobile. - When entering coordinates on Squid X it’s Longitude first then Latitude. Who does that? Confusing. Apart from the above, very good. 3 stars to say: developers, you’re doing an amazing job, really, I wouldn’t know where to start, but you’re missing the last mile. Please please do it.
Nouvelle Version
La nouvelle version ne fonctionne pas . Avec l’ancienne version qui fonctionnait très bien, maintenant on me demande un nouvel abonnement alors que mon abonnement précédent est valable jusqu’au 18 Février 2025 ! Que faire?

Bonjour On est passé d’une version « tout très bien » a une version : passez votre chemin… Criminel ! Une pensée à toutes celles et ceux qui utilisent cette appli quotidiennement en pro ou loisirs… Comment peut on faire des trucs pareils? Bonne journée
Could be a game changer, but isn’t
A routing software in your mobile device, that does not cost a thousand, could fill the gap for lots of amateur racers and ambitious cruisers. Squid has the potential to be just that, but unfortunately there are some severe flaws: - the GUI, currently under rework as it seems, has improved but is still odd. I guess we could live with that, if the functionality would be flawless. - routing often produces weird results where it sends you back and forth or in circles. Sometimes it helps to force it with more waypoints, which obviously spoils the whole idea of weather routing - custom polars always where a problem, now they are gone. One had to edit custom polars in a very odd interface, now this is gone and you can only use the included polars… this makes the whole thing useless! I hope this feature comes back soon, and I hope that in the future it is possible to import from ORC (or at least use the same table structure) - a very basic map is used (only coast lines shown, no sea chart), which obviously also is a severe problem as it sends you anywhere, where the map is blue, ignoring depths, bridges and no-go areas of any kind. I really hope the developer finds the resources that it would take to make this a killer app, I still believe it’s possible - go for it! :-)
Bug routage
Les limites TWA ne sont pas prises en compte dans les calculs de routage. Dans roadbook on trouve des TWA inférieurs à la limite TWA mini réglée.

I like Squid a lot because it’s easy to use and to demo to students (I’m a volunteer sailing instructor in the Caribbean, Mediterranean, and Lake Michigan). Squid is a simple, user-friendly routing app with sufficiently sophisticated functionality. For those wanting something even simpler, it can be used as a GRIB viewer with access to many high resolution models. It allows you to choose the boat’s polar and restrict the route with waypoints. For cruisers it’s useful to have parameters that allow the user to change the standard polars, scale them down to a certain percentage, and include running the engine if the boat speed drops below a certain amount. Each time I demo it, my students comment how great it is. I like very much myself so I highly recommend it.

L’ancienne version était très bien. La nouvelle ne fonctionne pas du tout. Je paye pour rien!

The kast version is very disappointing, the user interface has changed and the definition of the map is very poor, you can’t save different downloads and you can’t zoom as previously. Looking for another application

Latest updates wreck a good app
The app used to work. But no longer does. Since they introduced the new version, the user interface remains poor and the functionality I was used to has disappeared. I don’t understand why the devs didn’t use TestFlight to introduce a new beta for testing instead of inflicting the buggy new version on existing users. I’ve cancelled the renewal of my subscription.

Im Prinzip gut, aber nicht mehr gut zu gebrauchen, da diese App nicht mehr weiterentwickelt wurde. Das System stürzt oft ab und die Bedienbarkeit ist mangelhaft. Schade.

Je n’ai rien demandé, la nouvelle version ( en test )m’a été imposée ! J’étais satisfait de l’ancienne version Aucune carte n’apparait, juste quelques barbules de vent ! Alors que mon abonnement court toujours ! Que faire ? Messieurs de Great circle squid, rėagissez !

Bekomme kein aktuelles ECMWF Hirlam Gribfile. Ist der Support nicht mehr gegeben? Bekomme nur eines vom 04. Mai 2022.

Awful update
Do not update as this is a pre-release. I can live with laggy performance but previously useful forecast functionalities now removed/ not available. No metogram (model comparisons/ spot evolution etc) so no longer useful for inshore regattas. Forced to use other apps.
