Broken
Game has horribly slow hints - and the riddles cannot be solved by reasoning. And the hint that broke my interest was to fix something that literally did not exist within the game. Seriously?
Fire Maple : Such fun games
I like the games by this developer. The challenge provided is not terribly hard but just enough that I am motivated to reach the end. The artwork is beautiful. The music adds to the enjoyment. One thing I like about these games is the built in hint system. They are free, but are on a timer so you can’t buzz right through them. And you wouldn’t want to! Half the fun is figuring it out yourself. But if you are truly stumped, you can ask for a hint. I started with Grisly Manor, which was a little short but still a lot of fun. After I completed the game, I sat with my granddaughter while she played and that was fun for both of us. The sequel, Grisly Manor 2, was much longer and even more enjoyable, with a great ending. My most recent game was Lost City. While scenes are beautiful it seemed a bit too long with more back tracking than I cared for. The last half of the game I used more hints just to get through it faster. It would be nice if you could click on the map to get to the room you want to go to. For example, once you figure out what season you need to be in, it gets tedious to get to the room where you can adjust the season, and then continue on. Nevertheless, the Lost City provided much enjoyment, broken into three or four days as I had time to work with it. Because I’m of the age of being forgetful, a year from now I’ll be able to play these games again and they will still be fun. Thank you, Fire Maple, for making good “clean” games that are appropriate for any age player. I look forward to buying the next game.
Magicians hat with stars part not working on ipad
Followed hint guide and checked forums have done everything in correct order but when at magicians hat to select stars in correct order the hat is in the incorrect orientation and nothing can be done. Developers website gave security warnings (25 July 2022) so could not contact them. Had this game some years ago and worked fine then, but with update evidentially has a bug with latest IOS.
Obscure and random solutions
The graphics are static with animations when you apply objects or solve puzzles. Not up to the standard of the ‘room’ games graphically and puzzles can be obscure to random in their solutions. I had to use the hints just to save me trying every object in every location. I played through to the end so the game does have playability and is worth the cost but it’s not likely to be played a second time at a later date. A few hours of gameplay and plays offline so I was happy with it in the end.

Not worth your time or money
This game only offers around an hour or two of gameplay tops. The game would be less than an hour if not for its nonsensical puzzle solutions that leave you tapping on random places around the screen. The game does not make up for this with any sense of story or visual intrigue. If I could go back to before I bought this, I would tell myself not to waste my time or money on it. Even if this game was free I would not recommend it.
I enjoyed it ...but!
I’ve enjoyed the game but am unable to finish. The match puzzle in the attic only has sea shells and none of them is a match to any other. Why? And the magician’s hat doesn’t let me tap the stars even though I’ve fed the magic fish. Again, why? Can you help please?

I have very fond memories of playing the original as a kid. This game stayed very true to its predecessor which made for an awesome nostalgic experience!
Unable to complete
I love the fire maple games but this one has a glitch and I can not get to the box on the table so a few minutes into the game I am stuck and unable to complete it

Good game but a bit to long timer on the clues but that is the only thing that I would want changed.

I am playing game, getting to the end and a clue appears re. "A hollow bound leather book and super glue to fix the broken pedestal." THERE IS NO LEATHER BOUND BOOK OR SUPER GLUE ANYWHERE! AND THE CHILDS GAME WONT ACCEPT THE PIECES...even after getting screwdriver and changing to slower speed. So I cannot continue which is super frustrating after playing game so long. HELP. I've enjoyed the original grisly manor, hidden world and and your other game with no problems.

Tons of Fun / Better than the First!
This game is tons of fun to play! It’s incredibly expansive, with hours of gameplay, beautiful artwork, and really creative point-and-click puzzles. I don’t have a reason NOT to recommend this game! (The only reason I didn’t give a 5-star review is because I save those for once-in-a-lifetime games!)

Not enjoying Grisly Manor
Wow, am I in the minority here. Y'all love this game, but I'm not enjoying it. First of all, there's nowhere to change the difficulty setting. Secondly, the map is useless since it doesn't tell you where there's something to do. I have no clue what to do next since, for some reason, the slowly recharging hints are the only way to figure out what your goals are. Disclaimer: I am comparing this game to the Big Fish and G5 games that I enjoy.
Finally!
Finally! The length and complexity of a point and click adventure game that Fire Maple fans have been waiting for is here. Developers would do well by Syntaxity’s example and create add-ons to the shorter games to bring them up to the length and complexity of GM2.

The game got to a point where it locked up and I was not able to make it work again. I reset the game but there’s no way to return to the point of the game I had reached. For this reason I won’t be purchasing any more Fire Maple Games. Thank you for your time.

Loved the game, the house and Grandpa. It was refreshing not to have blood and demons in the game. Play was medium difficulty, most puzzles easy to figure out but the locked or hidden objects took quite a bit of thought to find. I hope there will be more Grisly adventures! Here’s my nitpick. Every time I had to flip to another app I had to wait through the introduction. That was frustrating, especially if I swiped up by accident.

Un jeu pointer-cliquer qui fait passer un bon moment conforme à l'esprit de la série. Le rapport qualité-prix est satisfaisant. On peut juste regretter une histoire un peu simple et linéaire. Le mieux que vous pouvez faire avec une machine à remonter le temps est-il d'aller dans le même manoir 17 ans avant ? On regrette le vieux Journeyman project 2 qui faisait visiter le studio de Léonard de Vinci et le Château de Richard Cœur de Lion, jeu sorti en... 1995 !

Gli enigmi sono spesso senza senso, praticamente bisogna guardare i suggerimenti un sacco di volte. È noioso, non molto coinvolgente, a volte addirittura frustrante. E anche la grafica non è il massimo. Non lo consiglio.

This game is beautiful, challenging, and fun. I’m so grateful for Fire Maple Games as they relax me and provide a welcome respite from stress. So creative and well thought out. This one was especially good. Just when you think you’ve finished, there’s more.

Småmysig fortsättning på första Grisly Manor
Din morfar behöver återigen hjälp. Hans hus ska annekteras av ett storföretag som ska riva det och bygga ett köpcentrum. Nu måste du hitta hans ägarcertifikat som han senast hade 1999, fast innan det måste du hjälpa honom att få färdigt tidsmaskinen så du kan åka tillbaka till 1999. Och då måste du först fixa så elen fungerar, men till att börja med måste du ta dig in i huset och få tag på morfar. Och glöm inte den självgömmande städroboten. Många uppfinningar och klurigheter blir det i detta småenkla men charmiga spel, där du återvänder till Grisly Manor. Inte lika komplext som Lost City och Hidden World, men mer utvecklat och längre än Secret of Grisly Manor. Välgjort av mycket litet produktionsteam. En extra charmpoäng blir det också.
Disappointing :(
Loved all of Fire Maple Games, and was eagerly waiting for this. Game was £2.29 yet me and my other half completed it in little over an hour. Bring back something new, like lost city, which required a lot more skill, and lasted a long time because of the tricky puzzles!
Wonderful Series
Back in the early 2010s, my mom bought The Secret of Grisly Manor on our family iPad and it was probably our favorite game to play! We replayed it at least 5 times. A few years later we found out about the second one, and I’m sure we’ve replayed it at least 5 times as well. We lost the original account but I decided to re-buy the games just for the nostalgia. Just as fun as a decade ago! The attention to detail in this series is amazing, such as during the time travel sequence when the year always matches the current one. I’d recommend this game (and the original) to anyone of any age.

It would be handy if the game actually downloaded I spent £2.29 on a game that doesn't download.
Bigger and better, but a bit easy.
The problem with the first game is that it was way too short. This is much bigger with a lot more puzzles, good storyline too. And just when you think you've explored everywhere and solved all the puzzles, you haven't. It's like two games in one (say no more). It's not too tricky, although it's still all a bit too easy. It took me about half a day to beat, with solid non-stop playing. But when you think that many game walkthroughs on YouTube are under 10 minutes long then this is still pretty good VFM for the size of the game but could still do with more trickier puzzles for a bit more longevity. Still, looking forward to an even bigger and better more trickier third instalment.

I really had my doubts about this game, but to my surprise I love it. It’s actually one of the best games that I have played in a long time, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Fire Maple keeps improving their point and click adventures and this was was truly a joy to play. Mixed difficulties of challenges, innovative rooms, and a fun flashback to the original Grisly Manor made this super entertaining.
