Needs updating
Used to be a great app. Not keeping up with technology and lags like crazy. Update plz!
Will not play videos
Every video that I already have downloaded into the app will not play. It keeps saying “buffering” & will not play the video, very frustrating.
“Used to” work great.
I used this paid version of the app for years and it was basic but worked great for google cardboard compatible headsets on an iPhone. Most VR media firms now encode h.265. The newer phones all support this but this app does not play h.265 encoded video files. it just displays a page of icons. The sound comes through, just no video. I've tried to contact the developer several times but there hasn't been a reply on this issue.
Was probably the best iphone vr player
Used to be the best option for Iphone vrplayer but now no longer works with the latest OS release, hopefully they put out an update but doesn’t look promising
Really great!
This is a great way to watch videos in vr! I bought a Google daydream headset from goodwill today, and I was looking for vr apps to use with it, and this is just perfect. One downside though is that the menu in the player can be very glitchy and slow sometimes, but all the settings there can be done just fine in the non-vr menu. I’m going to buy the thing that bypasses the 5 minute limit on videos, and I think it’ll be worth it. Overall, this is a mandatory app for people with headsets that you put your phone into.
Too difficult
I am old and do t have all day to waste with difficult apps. I’m returning my vr googles I thought would be fun to browse the web with
Great VR player, lots of features, works perfectly
I’ve tried several VR players, but this one wins. Lots of features and options, no issues with tracking or playback like so many others. Buying the premium version so I can watch past the 5 min limit because I think it’s worth it in this case. My only requests are: #1. A way to fast forward, either 10 seconds or 30 seconds. Love that I can rewind, SUPER useful, but the 2x playback speed gets tedious when I accidentally exit out or something and want to jump forward to where I left off. #2. Have a way to go to different parts of the video, maybe a bar at the bottom like on YouTube and other videos so we can easily get to different parts of the video or movie we are watching instead of having to start from the beginning every time. #3. Be able to upload my own image as a background in the viewer, in addition to all the other great ones already available. Thank you for a great app and I look forward to any additional features to make it even better!
Used to work, now unusable
Sadly now unusable on iPhone 13. I used this a few years ago and it was perfect but now lags heavily and freezes up sometimes. The frame limiting fix in the settings does not work.
Still not compatible with iphone 15 pro
Wonderful app, best one hands down for watching VR media for photos or videos, but doesn’t display 3d content with 15pro, has pixelation glitches on everything, 3D video is pixilated. Just got update 9.6.24. Still not working with 3D content. I use my old phone for VR.
Awesome
So I bored so I look u Vr cuz why not then I found this and love it so much Ty for making this app
Really bad
So I was trying to play a game but I couldn’t find any and it only showed up this movie theater thing after all this app is bad
Still some issues
VR files that I access through upon are badly focused whereas regular files are fine. If I play the badly focused files directly from my phone or from like google drive they are perfectly focused. Would be nice to be able to access files directly from pc on the same wifi network or from iCloud. Google drive is extremely slow to update. I also wanted to add that the icons that appear with the videos in upnp disappear after you run the video the first time. Displaying the video title all the time in either regular mode or in grid would make it easier to find clips in directories with lots of files. I thought I would add an update. I tried using Plex as my upnp instead of Playon and my focus issue went away. This also makes it easier to access files on my laptop also. So I guess I solved two of my issues lol. Update my controller has stopped working on my iPhone 13 plus program version 2022.12.5 when videos are running controller is in responsive I went back to my iPhone 6+ with program version 2021.12.0 and everything worked fine My iPhone 13 had been working fine for many months until recently. Thinking there is a problem with an update. Thanks for your time.
Headset tracking issues
Like other reviewers, on my iOS 18 iPhone, I am experiencing issues with headset tracking. If you are experiencing double vision issues, I recommend adjusting your IPD to the correct value.
Best on the market, but…
Great app. However constant problems with updates. Always crashes everything and I have to rebuild. Need to create a better user manual. May I suggest having a user write it instead of a developer? No offense, but you have no idea how difficult your manual is to us common folk. Techies should never write manuals.
So far fantastic 👍
Thank you for putting so much effort into this app. It really shows
No longer viable with iOS updates
I used to love this app but the last couple of iOS updates from Apple have made it unusable. It’s not responsive to head movement, lags badly on commands and just frustrates the user. Cannot recommend in its current state. Hope it gets back to our former utility but until then look elsewhere I’d you are running a current operating system.
Super Cool(rare)
This App is the best! However, it makes you pay money just to watch your own content. If I could receive a trial or the ability to watch my own content for more than 5 mins it would be fantastic! Then I’d definitely give it 5 stars. There’s no reason why someone should have to continuously pay money every month for the same app. Heck just a one time payment of $5 or so would be legit.
Sadly unusable on iphone 15
Worked ok on iphone se but unusable on iphone 15
Following an update late last year one video isn’t playing
One of my videos that previously played just fine and still plays fine on my iPhone 7s when not using this application won’t play. It says buffering but never finished buffering and so never plays. All other videos seem fine and as best I can tell this file is unchanged. I’m thinking a setting changed but I can’t figure out what that is. Tried to submit the question elsewhere but didn’t get a reply or can’t see a reply.
Best app of its kind.
Simple as that.
DOES NOT WORK WITH IOS 18
Use to be a great app, but after IOS 18 got updated, head tracking is SUPER LAGGY. It make the app useless because you can’t even navigate thru menus to view your content. DO NOT BUY, you have been warned.
Cool but not amazing
I would give it five stars but it’s kind of hard to download a movie, but it’s really easy to watch videos of your own. Another reason is because it makes you pay like five dollars to watch a video that’s over five minutes if you’re a kid like me you might not you’re probably not allowed to purchase things in app, but other than that it’s great
Hard to use
You need a masters degree in coding in order to use this video player. It ruined all of my files and I now have to re-download everything. This is the least user friendly VR player I’ve used yet.
Doesent work
This would be good if it worked, but the video just gets stuck on “buffering” and the play pause button goes on and off constantly
Great app VR player
There is really very few of any apps that do what I want them to do for displaying 2D movies and videos in vr. This app lets me actually customize the background where most apps are just a single background. It works pretty well with iPhone and I’m glad to see they are still updating it after all these years. Really nice app!
Go with rPlayer instead
This app still can’t play many files and show them as unsupported. rPlayer plays them just fine
No Streaming from URL
This app would hand down be the best in it's class if it supported direct streaming of video from a URL. I would gladly pay for this app with that functionality. I've yet to find a single VR viewer app with a hands free interface that allows streaming from a web address. PLEASE consider adding this feature.
Not bad
Not what I was looking for but does what it is for maybe add like a browser if that is possible
Hope to support smb
Can you support smb, why not
very useful
works great for watching downloaded cycling videos on my excercise bike, thanks for writing this
Slow
Extremely slow. I was getting maybe 1 FPS in the virtual theater. Unusable.
iOS 14 issue
The picture is now more jittery, like I’m riding in a car or something. It happened with the upgrade to iOS 14.
UGH
I have emailed the developer a while ago and i've been trying to get them to have an internet browser in this app and he's having trouble adding it in but i'm sad cause i payed for the premium version and now i don't get the features i want :(
Not actually free
It’s decent and all, but it’s incredibly hard to use, and won’t allow watching movie over 5min
Great app I’ve used for years. Can we get Anaglyph for iPad?
It has a “cross-eyed” mode for those that have no headset, but I’d really like to see an anaglyph mode to use with red/blue (cyan) glasses! Please!
Can’t get support
Doesn’t work
Love it but it won’t play 2160p
Love that I can stream my videos from dropbox and online. The only thing I dislike is that whenever I try to play 2160p videos, a big vr menu is cover the whole video, meaning I can’t see the video. I don’t know if there’s an option to remove that menu, but it only happens with 2160p videos. It may happen with some 1140p videos. Not sure, but definitely with 2160p videos. I hope they fix this. Besides that, the app is great
Broken on iPhone12?
Used to be the best of the best. But lags 9/10 times on my 12Pro now, almost unusable to be honest. Still, it's the most feature rich VR player on ios. Could use some UI refinement, some basic calibration features could be a lot easier to understand/access. Almost too 'advanced' for its own good. But gets the job done when it works. Hoping the lag issue gets resolved, 5 stars when I can use it again!!
Pretty good VR player
This is my go to VR player, but it doesn’t come without its drawbacks. There’s no short way to search for and select the video you want to watch making the process of loving for a specific video quite cumbersome. There’s also a glitch that won’t allow you to rewatch any video watched until the end of its playtime. If the video plays out fully the next time you select the video the player will begin just before the ending and the timer to select a different point in the video is just a bit too long to solve the issue. Overall this is a pretty good option, however I would appreciate a couple updates and bug fixes.
Confused
How do I start a movie???????
Can’t watch movie from Netflix
It said playback not work
Best VR Player for iPhone.
Best VR player in the store. I love how you can stream movies through UPNP from my NAS, which means I don’t have to store on my iPhone’s limited storage. Can’t seem to get it to play HEVC H.265 format correctly though - hope support will be in a future update.
Shaky times!
Please fix the shake effect. After updating to iOS 14.1 the videos are all shaking now.
Ios 14
This app needs an update for the iphone 12. I cant play anything or watch anything.
Pretty good so far
Can you guys add Destek vr to the options?
Stopped working
Literally will not load any video. Play/pause button glitches out and wont even start
Needs internet plex support
Great app, test it and buy it if its right for your needs
Doesn’t seem to play h.265
This was a great app and the best one I could find, after comparing many. Now I’m getting a lot of content encoded in 4K or 5K as h.265 and these only play the audio. I tried optimizing new files in Plex (those don’t play either), and using Handbrake settings suggested by the developer. Those files still don’t play. Hope there’s an update for this.
Doesn’t work
This app is kinda bad is you ask me, the screen was always buffering and I never actually got to see any movie of any sort. But I believe if you fixed these problems this app would be awesome 👍
