What people like
- Works perfectly with a solid UI
- Includes useful lock screen widgets
- Does not collect your personal data
- Developer makes other high quality apps
What they complain about
- No Apple Watch app support
- Subscription model feels unfair to users
- Cannot automatically reset counters daily
- Font size is too small now
Very helpful
I use it to tally up the amount of times I practice each song on my piano. It takes the guest work out of it. I especially like the idea that I can have custom names for each of the Tallies.
Complication refresh on watch
The complication on the watch never updates unless you open the app again on the watch. An annoying bug on the app side that makes using the complications extra work
Love this simple app, but font size is a problem
I don't have vision problems, but since the overhaul update a year or so back, I still can't get over the noticeably smaller font and display of each individual item when viewing tally sets. Each item used to pop and the title of it was clearly readable in bold print. Since then, font size for item title are absolutely tiny. Even emojis are hard to distinguish, especially the faces. The old ratio of font size to tally count to card size was perfect. I have to squint sometimes to see which list it is I'm looking at and make sure I'm not about to make a time costing error. This is my rant. Doesn't seem like it would be a difficult fix, but I'm not an app developer. I will say I paid for the yearly membership 🙂
Very difficult to use
Unable to select a specific “tally” on Apple Watch despite having one created. This app is way too convoluted if you’re just trying to track one thing.
Subscription
Have some nerve asking for subscription I have no problem paying a dollar or two for the app but asking 10$ a month is insane
Great app
Completely customizable. Helps me keep track of many different things.
Dude…
Pen and paper, problem solved. There’s no way you’re genuinely expecting people to pay fifty bucks for this…
LOVE IT but…
Ok I Love this app but there’s one problem. When I added a really big number it wouldn’t let me in the website cause of data so plz fix that.
Disappointed
I had high hopes for this app, especially since some of the competitors collect so much data. I’ve had it for maybe 10 minutes and have already found dealbreakers. They are: —The font of the word for the item you’re tracking truly is too small. —With Pro, you only get 12 predefined colors to choose from and do not have the ability to create your own color from a color wheel. Basic colors like pink are missing, yet inexplicably there are two almost identical shades of red and several shades of similar greens and blue-greens. Very frustrating, particularly if you already use a color system of your own across multiple apps and analog systems. —Each tally gets a timestamp. You can turn off the display of the timestamp, but there appears to be no way to adjust the time, or at least it’s so unintuitive that after much searching, I cannot find a way to do so. This is a problem if you want to tally in chunks during the day or do it in the evening for occurrences during the day or if you simply forget and then make the entry later. This is basic stuff, and I don’t understand why it is not part of the app. Unfortunately, they are large enough flaws that it’s a net-negative for me. I’d love to check out this app in the future and see that it’s improved and update my review and likely become a subscriber or a lifetime purchaser (it’s too pricey for what it currently is), but it’s a pass for me now. In its favor, here are some of the positives: —Reasonable first-year price of less than $8 at the time of this writing, with an option for a lifetime purchase option. —Data not collected. Privacy is vital. Do you really want to be sharing those things you’re currently logging with developers who are selling your data and tracking you across the web? I sure don’t. —Apple watch app. This is a must for me.
Needs A Function Then 5-Stars
Nice APP. Used for years. Sometimes it simply will not SYNC when switching watches; requires restarting the watch. All could be fixed with a manual SYNC function as is I use with another APP.

Some suggestions
Add auto reset at (specific hour) since I goto sleep at 3am so it should reset at 4am. Also add a reset button instead of hiding it in a context menu since you have plenty of space. Swipe is great for iPad/iPhone but I’m using it on a Mac so I prefer a + - button for mouse clicks. The biggest downside is that iCloud syncing doesn’t work sometimes. I have to force close both apps on both devices and launch again to force sync. Also this is probably not the developers fault, but widgets are sometimes not in sync with the main app.
Nice but…
… Apple Watch app is bitterly missing
Bugs in software
It’s efficient and easy to use (which is great), but 80% of the time the app only recognises manual counting. For example, if you do 50 push ups and you want to add that and you click “set to 50” or “add 50”, nothing will happen. It’s super annoying, but that’s what you get with a free app
Great app but not Apple Watch compatible
The app is really good, but I wish it were compatible with my Apple Watch. It’s kind of a pain unlocking my phone every time to click. BUT having said that, the app is nice and simple and clean.
Excellent counter/tracker!
My one request would be to be able to move items from one tally set to another - but other than that, it has every conceivable feature I could want. It's robust, easy to use, and allows me to track as many things as I need. It was well worth the very reasonable lifetime fee!
Doesn’t work
It won’t move on to the next day. If I manually change the date I lose my progress. They must be using AI to update their code. Sadly, I bought a lifetime subscription. Don’t waste your money.
Confirm Reset to 0
It’s quite easy to accidentally swipe up and press Reset to 0. Please add a pop up window that asks “Are you sure you want to reset the counter value? Cancel | Reset”
Charged During Free Trial
Overall, the app is great. I downloaded it for the first time yesterday, and decided to try out the free trial today. I was immediately charged and in my Apple subscriptions, it states that it is currently in a free trial and I will be charged after the free trial ends in 7 days. It appears as if I will be charged twice.
Handy app
I’d give it more stars if the watch widget updated itself automatically if the phone was used. For example, I may use my phone to reset a habit counter at the end of the day or occasionally increment another. Still, the watch widget never reflects the update until I open it.
Useful App
Had trouble with the update, but now it works fine.
Gag
You can only add 1 file of talleys before they tell you to by the premium, I ain’t buying no premium for a counter
中文
要是有简体中文就好了。
Trial .
Does not work kn apple watch even when “show on apple watch” is turned on? I think I will cancel subscription!
Feature Request
As mentioned by others, would love the feature to be able to track a daily habit by reseti g the count daily and being able to see daily history. Would give five stars if this was added. The app “Tally” by “Reflective Technologies” does this already but their widgets and ui are not as good as yours.
What sets it apart
I love the widgets!! It’s the only one on the App Store with it!
Too expensive
I wanted a simple counting app that I can also use on my Apple Watch. I can understand a fee to purchase but to charge a yearly subscription for a counter? lol no thx
Please add Watch and iCloud Support
I was searching for a good counting app for my knitting and I really liked this one. Especially as I can use it very well with my iPad (Slideover). It would make the app perfect, if it supported the Apple Watch and would synchronize between all devices.
V.Good App, but why’s there still no Watch App?
Excellent App in so many ways. A ‘prolific’ use of this app is on the Watch. They’re ‘made for each other!’. If a developer of this standing, (‘Agile Tortoise’, no less, with a fine history & pedigree in the world of apps) hasn’t the resources to do this after, what, 5 years, then I don’t get it. What ‘actually’ is stopping you from providing the Watch App? I ask this with genuine respect for your brand.
No daily reset?
Solid app, but just trying to track one habit daily (pushups). Love that there’s a widget so that I can add numbers directly on my Lock Screen. However, there seems to be no way to set a tally to automatically reset. If you’re trying to count a daily habit, that’s a pretty big one. Would feel 100x more seamless if you could get it to reset daily automatically before manually going in menus and resetting each time. This feature would be awesome and would take my review from 3 stars to 5 stars.
Excellent app
My second app from Agile Tortoise (after Drafts). Great developer, super high-quality product. I paid the one-time $30 for this largely based on my impression of him and his work. Thanks!!
Not as advertised
Not intuitively designed. I want to record various simple mantras but it appears that the app doesn’t work, even for this simple function, unless I subscribe monthly.
Tally
Great app but limited to single tallies.
Nice App: But no iCloud sync
This app looks great but does not sync my iPhone and iPad data.
Hmmmm
Could use some bug fixes, when I tap the + button, I expect for the number value to increase, having to press the edit button before I do anything is a hassle & I’m hoping it’s just a bug & the app isn’t actually designed with useless - & + buttons
Great app that does what's on the tin and has more features than you'd think
It's super convenient for tracking all sorts of things and has a ton of ways to adjust tallies like what direction it goes and how many steps when you tap or swipe. I'd say it's the ideal app for its namesake. Not surprising since it comes from the same folks who made Drafts
Subscription model is absurd greed
In what universe does this app warrant a subscription model? You provide no ongoing service whatsoever. Sync is through iCloud, not your servers, and none of the pro features impose any costs on you, either. Just sheer greed and stupidity that people actually pay this nonsense. I’d happily pay a one-time fee just to access the shortcut actions, but $5/year in perpetuity for you to do literally nothing more? Get real.
Make a glance!
Then you get 5 stars
Disappointed by dropped Watch App
This was a simple yet effective app that I used entirely on my watch. I am sad to see support for the watch being dropped in the latest update. I have found an alternative app with the same functionality which works on the app and will no longer use this app.
Undo button
The app is great minus the fact that you can’t undo an accidental tap.
So so so so good
Honestly I’d rate it even higher if I could. No notes! Better than all other tally / checklist type apps. Makes my productivity through the roof by giving me a visual goal and inch my way towards them. Thank you!!
Horrible
The interactive widget is horrible. It opens the app about every click. At that point why bother?
Please all 0 reset function!
Please all 0 reset function!
Great! Needs important tweaks, though
I’ve enjoyed this app for the last week or so however there are some changes that I definitely feel should be made and are pretty simple that will make it SO much better. 1. Being able to re-order sets, not just items. Not a fan of the sets moving all around as you count one thing and then another from another set. A setting to turn this off would be ideal. 2. There are pretty colors to choose from, some more would be really nice— even better would be a color wheel/grid. 3. Also regarding colors, being able to change the color for any item in a set and (maybe) allow items to have their own icons. The icon selection are awesome! 4. This, along with #1, are what deters me from this app specifically: adding a history or “this is what you counted today vs in total for this specific item”. This is definitely crucial for a tally app. The archive is personally unusable, so adding a history or today/all feature would be awesome. GLITCH: Not sure why this happens but often times the item i’m tallying will switch to another item OR the count won’t be entirely correct or updated when I go in and out of the app. It can be really frustrating having to fix it each time. Nonetheless, I still enjoy the app! Currently deciding on keeping this one vs 2 others and what will keep me recommending this is if changes are made in the near future!
Actually free - Great Features - Good UI
Actually free. Works perfect with a solid UI. Good feature set. Other apps in this genre are $10-15 to remove ads. SUPPORT THIS DEVELOPER.
Trash
You can only have 1 set of tallies at a time. Meaning you have to reset and cannot save them without using a screenshot.
Nice app # I recommend it for all
Nice app # I recommend it for all
NEEDS WORK!!!
WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO CHANGE THE COLOR FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL TALLY!!!
