치명적이네요. PC앱에는 아예 검색 기능이 없고 쓰레드 이동을 하려고 할 때 컬렉션이 많으면 컬렉션 리스트 아랫쪽이 잘려서 이동을 시킬 수가 없습니다 PC에서는 아예 쓰레드 이동 기능이 없어서 아주 불편하네요 기다리면 나올 것 같아서 기다리고 있는데 UI가 전반적으로 개선이 잘 안 되니 써봅니다
End of a [Liner] Era
Updated review: Feel slightly silly given my previous 5 star review, and truly loved this app. Unfortunately, an error on payment, which was not possible to update, resulted in being downgraded less than 48 hours after the error. Shockingly, since discovered that thousands upon thousands of highlighted PDFs, articles, research in multiple categories (around 50), have all vanished. So be aware that if you downgrade or forced to downgrade, despite reaching out for help multiple times, you will lose everything. in my case, around a decade of research and use. The idea that they are now gone irrespective of reinstating the subscription which is now £300 per annum, an equally astonishing amount, means I cannot recommend this app, not now. Such a shame. Old review: Ignore the bad reviews (!) It is an exquisite app. Absolutely invaluable, not only for saving a library of all you're PDFs, and highlighting according to how you categorise it, but is even more useful since the updates, especially now that it has AI/chat GPT. I love it!
A good start!
This app is very useful for basic highlighting, so I would definitely recommend. However, I am having some issues with sharing across devices. I’m not too sure if it is because I’m not understanding how to use that feature but either way I feel this should be improved/simplified. I, also, tried to sign into the same account on a different device instead, but there didn’t seem to be any option to. I could only create a new account which was annoying! I am exited to see improvement but I will definitely continue to use this app.
Absolutely amazing AI, not-so-amazing app or pricing
I use a mac. Do not download the Liner AI app off the App store, just download it off the web. This app store one is based off the ipad and is super buggy, slow, and uncustomizable on macbook. However, if u do get the web download app version, this AI is amazing, with a twist. It is absolutely wonderful to use for research. Is the app very CPU-load heavy? Sure. But there is not a single AI that can beat this in terms of low hallucinations and accurate research. The second catch other than to not dowload the app from the app store is that this AI is expensive. 1000 credits a month for 15$ a month (paid yearly btw) equates to make 5-6 questions on the really advanced research stuff with Liner Scholar or Liner Write. The good thing tho is that Liner sometimes reimburses u credits (500 usually) if the ai agent doesn’t do something correctly or if u test some new features.
Scholar promises, only promise. They’ll keep your money no matter what…
They market this as a strong scholar-focused AI app, but my experience has been very disappointing. It struggles with APA 7 guidelines, doesn’t reliably follow prompts, and often provides inaccurate answers with invented citations. Tools like Perplexity handle academic work much better than this one. Then, few days later they want to keep the money because according to their email they have a non-reimbursement policy. Bad. Thanks for your reply. However, customer service made clear their non reimbursement policy. They charged me for premium and they cancelled my premium profiles. Enjoy my money. I read some comments and feedback on the same topic, scam. It seems so to me.

제발 분할화면 좀 작게 할 수 있게 해주세요. 타 사 생성형 인공지능과 문서 작성 앱과 검색 앱을 함께 켜놓고 쓰려니깐 라이너가 차지하는 크기가 커서 계속 창을 바꿔야 하니 너무 불편합니다.
Subpar GPT Model
Says the plus version uses chat gpt 4 but answers questions much much worse than even gpt 3 did. Almost never actually answers your question the way you want it to even after rewording it multiple times. After getting inclredibly frustrated after asking for a direct quote over 6 times without it providing one, I simply stated if a direct quote that answers the previous prompts is not provided I will never use this platform again. And then it finally provides a quote that still doesn't really answer my question. Also constantly contradicts itself. Getting two stars because it has the ability to quote and cite sources which few other gpt models have but it does a very poor job of that and also at answering prompts with not quotes required.

Yearly Auto renewal scam
I am like the 100th person ti complain from this app auto renewing a year subscription for 175 plus fees so 186 dollars total and is refusing to return my money even though I asked for a refund instantly I never used this app or anything but im being refused a refund why?!

Writer Beware
A compatriot suggested this app to me, encouraging me to try it because he had used it to write essays and tasks for college papers in the classes he had taken and received Grades of A on those papers. “It’s fun, it makes everything easy; you really should try it!” So, I did. What a complete waste of time and effort on my part. (I’ll ignore the cost - for this review) I entered the ’concept parameters’ for a story I am writing - sans AI - adding details and information that would be included in the book that the story would be a part of. Three times out of 3 attempts, the AI app came back with such disappointing paragraphs I at first assumed I must have not entered the information correctly. After the third attempt I deleted the app and hoped they wouldn’t charge my credit card for the waste product they were pedaling. If you are a writer. Then by god and anything you deem holy; write it yourself. Trusting AI is like sending a thief into the mansion of the human mind, to steal one specific item, and having that incompetent thief return with a bag filled with trash objects and no sign of the one object you needed most!
Very promising, unfortunately undependable
They’ve made some great updates to this app and it’s much more useful now. Unfortunately it’s now very dependable. It only saves the first 2 or 3 highlights you make in Safari, even though it lets you go through the motions of saving more. Your best bet is just to share pages straight through to the Liner app and do highlighting and annotating there. The Safari extension is unfortunately too undependable, which is too bad because it works so well. I’ve reached out to the developers for support on this but they have not responded, so it also appears that there’s limited support offered for the app.
A solid AI for coding and others
I really use Liner for a lot and as my general AI, and even tho I wish it had more support for image and video generation, it’s a solid overall platform
Upgrade the writing limit from the AI
It’s extremely annoying and if I’m trying to make storied the capacity stops me so until they fix this I will not be using this app and it makes everything seem violent when it’s not so they need to fix that too that the AI could write anything

Liner doesn’t seem to work on iPad
My battery died on my computer and I hoped to move seamlessly over to my iPad. I’ve used Liner for years but this app just sends me in endless loop and doesn’t even seem to save my highlights. Maybe it’s not supposed to work the way I want but this has been disappointing.
Good but pricey
This is a good app with elegant UI and ease of use for highlighting the web . However , it’s really pricey . The developers could consider lowering the price and compensate with a wider reach and adoption .

Their’s only one better research based AI that I know of in the game that’s better!

Paid for Year and Did NOT Receive Upgrade
On February 11th, I paid $176.99 to upgrade to Liner Pro and when I try to use any of the Pro features it restricts me and says I have “basic”. I sent out an email earlier this morning hoping this gets resolved, however I have not heard back yet. Absolutely terrible practice as I paid a lot of money for a service that I am not receiving……

Could be better
I was under the impression that the integration, especially the 74.99 annual membership I purchased, would be more robust. If you could add the capability to highlight ANYTHING and have it sent to the user profile then that would be a game changer. Maybe you guys should partner with Microsoft OneNote and bring the AI/social aspect to it.

Built to solve a great pain point, but app/company is pretty sloppy
It solves a great need - to highlight as I am reading the page. But… 1) On the app, highlights are hidden under profile, while their “social” and “discovery” features are highlighted which surface irrelevant and crappy recommendations 2) Zero customer support! As a premium paid user, sent them a request to link two of my accounts that use the same email (but one with password and other sso) - no response! 3) Highlight stopped working on mobile safari after a recent ios update (company says they are working on a fix). But the simple Share > Open in (Liner) feature from mobile chrome and safari also does not work, when trying to use it as a stopgap workaround to reopen a site in Liner’s own in-app browser for highlighting. (4) Search by tag does not work - throws up highlights that clearly does not have that tag!

This is good but need few features like import and take pictures of notes then highlight with different colour.

I wanted to compare this to ChatGPT, Liner fell short in most ways. It provided inaccurate info, didn’t seem to understand or comprehend most questions I asked. I canceled within the free trial window but they charged me anyways and said the cancelation didn’t process and stopped responding to any communication. Lackluster product and customer service.

I very effective app. Particularly useful for students doing online courses. Just a couple of limitations, which if addressed would make this a killer app. 1. Ability to open multiple tabs in the app’s web browser. 2. A read mode in the browser similar to that in safari, meaning you could resize text so long articles are more readable (less eye strain) on the screen. Sort these two issues and this app would deserve 10 stars!!!
Problem as an extension
When enabled in iPadOS (possibly iOS also) Safari, tap-and-holding a link to “open in new tab” (and other functions) doesn’t work. I have to disable the extension to allow me to open a link in a new tab or window. Also in MacOS on YouTube, there’s a prompt that covers the comment box and you have to resize the window to see what you’re typing when leaving a comment. The concept is awesome though! It’s so close to being the best extension but I have to disable it to do my current browsing.

SCAM! Overcharged and does not work
I tried to refund and email the support with no follow up. Estimated reply being 2-3 days is a joke. No one has reached out and its been a couple of months. I tried to use it today and I am stuck in a login loop with my Google account.

Predatory auto renewal FOR $175!!
I wanted to try this app to see if it could take pictures you input and give good suggestions. I signed up for a free trial and tried it once and it had very unsatisfactory results. When I forgot to cancel the trial, it charged me $175 for another year of it. $175 for this app is a rip off, the picture analysis it did was not correct, not helpful, and so far off that I stopped using the service altogether. The fact that it costs $175 a year is insane, other reviews have mentioned that it once costed $50 a year. I have reached out to support for a refund but they only have an email address. They also don’t let you cancel your subscription, the only thing I can do is cancel my payment in PayPal. This seems like fraud, how are you supposed to cancel your payment if you didn’t use PayPal? A $175 YEARLY renewal instead of a monthly renewal is also very predatory. A monthly renewal would give somebody the chance to cancel while not having to pay almost $200 if they weren’t able to cancel by the renewal date.

The pricing is... a little off?
I have been using the basic version of this app on my MacBook and iPad and absolutely love how helpful und easy it is to use BUT When I went to upgrade to the premium version advertised in the description for $2.99/month - a fair price that I would be happy to pay immediately and probably for many years during and after my course at uni - the price suddenly said $10/month based on an annual plan and £13.99 when paying monthly. I tapped to purchase the annual plan hoping the indicated price would turn out to be just some sort of mistake, but was shocked to see that the annual plan would cost me £129.99. Aside from the maths being a little off, I’m disappointed to see that the actual price doesn’t match the description. For $2.99 or whatever the equivalent in £, I wouldn’t have hesitated to purchase the app and even recommended it to my fellow students because it really is a super handy, user-friendly and well-designed app with the extra features being worth the money, but I can't with the current pricing. I’m not sure if you’re aware of this, but I’d appreciate it if you could take a look at the issue as there might be more people waiting to upgrade.
