Good changes in app!
I was a loyal TWC app user for many year not because they were great but because I disliked them the least. Based on their changes in 2025, and your improvements later in 2025 I switch over to your app. I like the changes in format and layout. It launches quickly, due to better font size, I can read the relevant data without my glasses and minimal scrolling needed. I just wish the current day high/low showed up with the current temperature as to get that I have to look down at the daily horizontal bar. While I really like the horizontal hourly and daily data which again minimizes scrolling, trying to scroll horizontally on the hourly temp opens the vertical scroll way too easy which means the dealing with the ads and extra info I don’t need. That aside, nice changes!
Clunky
People learn how to use your clunky app with a terrible video player and now you’ve changed it, which you call an update, and now it’s less intuitive

Ever since they got rid of past, now and future radar. Crucial for driving. Check out AccuWeather, they still have

Can’t watch videos bc of Ads
Can’t watch a single video without being interrupted by an ad after literally 2 seconds of the video. The video just stops and if you try to play it again or ffwd, you get ads. You can’t even get back to the video you were trying to watch.
Changes
You should keep the app close to the same flow of screens. Older people have problems changing their mind sets
Fix your app
But I have other alternatives in a true weather emergency, as your app spits in the face of those that have visual impairments. Wrong on every level!
Videos don’t play
As of early May 2026, the videos won’t play in the app. The ads run, then it goes dark. Please fix this bug.
Excelente Weather App
I am very pleased with this app. However, the one feature I wish would be added is switching between landscape and portrait with changing positions of the device.
Radar
Radar moves way too fast. Hit pause; time line disappears. Too much white & distracting clutter in way. More radar space & less garbage. Some of us like to predict & be more accurate than forecasters.
Love the app as far as accuracy
Hate the ads and widgets need improvement. Very slow to open as well.
New app versus old app
User-friendly~ I enjoyed the old app because it allows you to see the direction of the storm gave you indicators like how far away and the strength of the storm and he was able to determine if it was going to impact you and win I don’t see that as easy to discern when using the new app is not as user-friendly and clear, but I do like that it gives you more information, but I just wish that it had incorporated instead of removing the old functionality

We should not have to listen to ads when we get on a KXAN Weather app. It’s really annoying.

Videos won’t play
I’ve watched and relied on KXAN weather and news since I can remember. I loved the old weather app, it played much smoother and easier. This one takes forever to download the forecast video.

It Was Better in the Past
The app is too busy and I don’t know why I need 2 ads of the same business in one small app. The whole page is too busy. Yes, someone is sponsoring this app but I would ask the developer whether this app is about delivering ads or providing a service regarding local weather? Also how fast do you need to run the radar? If we blink, the scroll is at the end and I can’t even tell what the timing is of the radar. We need the previous developers back as this app is a big MISS! AND, it use to be my favorite app for weather.
Conflict
The hourly and daily temp forecasts conflict with each other often by as much as 15-20 degrees
Smaller Graphics - don’t like
I put a 3 rate for first time. U have recently reduced the size of ur graphics. Liked it much better before. Ur not always in sinc or correct w/ other weather apps, but had the biggest, most colorful graphics. Really disappointed.
Family involvement
It takes a village and that’s what we feel when we watch KXAN weather and having the app keeps us weather aware. Thank you KXAN weather team for being an extension of our family.

Not used to this new changes. I liked the old one as it’s easier to look at and moved things on one side. The new one is having to jump to jump another. 😓 Can’t do a Quick Look. The radar is what I depending on

In new app, too much space is wasted on the radar page with half the page used up with an add bar at the top and useless redundant info at the bottom.

What happened to it.
Incorrect temps
During the freeze it constantly showed temps around 38 or higher while the current temp is showed closer to 31 for hours. Their forecasted temps in the app made it look like it wouldn’t freeze despite ongoing conditions they were reporting in contrast. Every other app showed temps around 31 on the hourly except KXAN.

The other app seemed more user friendly!

I live how the weather can be checked locally as well as regionally.
Cluttered
What happened to the clean view the weather app used to have. It is now so cluttered with ads it’s hard to read all the weather info. It makes me not want to use the app any more. Bring back the old format.
Not a fan of the new update.
As the saying goes, if it ain’t broke, let’s “fix” it anyway. I kept this app even after we moved away from Texas because it was so easy to use and had so many wonderful features. I may be looking for a new one. :(
