Not so good credit union
You should model your bank off of DFCU and strive for that level. Please remove this pop up to take a survey every time I log into the mobile zeal app.
Mostly a good app
My only complaint is the external transfer is a little cumbersome. At least on an iPhone.

3 days to process transactions
Everyone else banking apps are instant everything … this takes 3 and 4 days to reflect any transactions… maybe best 48 hours if it’s a non-holiday Monday morning… If this isn’t updated I’m switching banks
A great app, but needs a dark icon!
This app has been fantastic, one of the best banking apps out there. However, I’m BEGGING for a dark mode icon, as I primarily use my phone in dark mode and your icon sticks out like a sore thumb. You and Caribou coffee, for some reason 🤨 PLEASE add this soon! Also, a general dark mode would be nice.

Depositing checks mobile
Most financial institutions that do mobile deposits (checks) and by the next day it clears. Not the case with zeal. Just saying. Thx

Every time I need Zeal for finances is always an excellent experience.. They have saved me several times from debt is unreal!!! I’m happy I found Zeal 20 yrs ago 🤗

Just wanted to alert the app managers that the camera will not open with the new IOS 16 update. Please resolve ASAP. Thank you!
iPhone widget functionality broken with last update
I loved the iPhone widget that they used to offer with this app. However, with the latest update (March 2025) the iPhone widget functionality is broken. Formerly, when I scrolled to my widget screen, the app would automatically update right when I scrolled to it. Now, it doesn’t do this. It lists a “last updated” time that I noticed could be over an hour old at times and shows outdated information on the widget. I have to click on the widget, open FaceTime, load the account, then I see my updated balance, which shows different information then the widget shows. It really defeats the purpose of the widget. Developers, please fix.

Overdraft
The overdraft fees are absolutely asinine!!!! I cannot wait to get my account paid up and closed!!! I pay more in fees than anything!!! And the fact that Zeal would charge a $30 fee for a dollar or two overdraft makes me sick!!! They are just robbing me at this point!!! Not to mention MULTIPLE fees for the SAME rejected payment over and over and over! I can’t even get ahead because they just continuously charge me fees repeatedly for the same item trying to come out of my account. Times are literally hard enough without getting robbed by your credit Union!!! It’s so very sad!
Lock cards
There really needs to be an option to lock our debit card and whatever else people may have. Other than that I have no problems
ATM deposits
I don’t understand why some checks get a hold out on them and some are released within a couple hours?? If I deposit in the atm it’s always after hours, so my question is this... why isn’t it always released immediately if I’m doing that just about every week? Why do I have to wait for my money? Why is there sometimes a pending hold and an instant release of funds? Thank you, Dallas Shamie
Unable to reach a teller on the weekends
I work A LOT & sometimes on the weekends I need to visit an actual branch or at least speak to someone which I’m never able to do with Zeal. Didn’t know that when I opened my account, but VERY dissatisfied customer.

Mobile deposit not working
For the last several days, the mobile deposit has not been working. When capturing an image of the check, it says “rotate your device to continue deposit” no matter what I do. Never used to be a problem.
Transactions
I gave 3 stars because I don’t like the fact that I don’t get notified in real time of any transactions. My notifications are always 15-20 minutes delayed. I also don’t like the fact that my debit card doesn’t have the option to tap.

Bad service pay in full my auto loan of ($2564.80 full balance)and my account appears like delinquent account I don’t understand why if I pay full the loan when I make phone call they won’t take my call I make my full payment on (4/03/2020)now is the date they won’t take my phone call I leave message they won’t call back

I cannot express how I used friendly the Zeal app is, this is extremely important to me because I’m constantly checking on my accounts.

Worst bank I’ve ever dealt with. Won’t let me cash my check on app, and I had to write their name on it so I’m screwed on cashing it anywhere else smfh. Waste of time to even open it up
