Amazing!
No ads, are present at all. I plan to buy the premium after spending some more time with this app. I love how it shows the fingerboard on violin! It also shows not just 1 singular note on its own which is one of my major downsides of my other favorite note reading app Tenuto. Give this a shot it’s free and the premium is a one time payment of 4 dollars!
Can’t hear unless bang
It’s can’t hear the notes unless we bang on our keyboard or my son plays so loud on violin that it’s screeching we tried on both our phones and can’t hear so disappointing!!!
Need an update for guitar sightreading
I am a paid user and the app works well in general. But I can’t practice sight reading with a guitar because the guitar is one octave lower naturally.Hope their will be a fix for this ,thanks
Useful, but not for my instrument
I play the ocarina (12 hole alto c) and I’m learning to sight read. I can still follow along with the practices, but the app does not pick up the sound of my ocarina despite me having paid to get the microphone feature. It would be great if this app had support for wind instruments
After update it detects more ghost notes
The app works perfectly and I love it so much. Until the last update, the note accuracy to practice with acoustic piano is very bad. It detects wrong note, ghost note.
Hope in sight
I really appreciate this app and how it’s improved over the years. I often use it daily and see my sight reading improving, steadily, little by little. The autoscroll/timer feature is a game changer. Suggestion: AI can learn the “style” of particular musicians, then send note sequences down the staff so these patterns themselves get into the brain and can be used for sight reading / improvisation. Imagine choosing Bach or Mozart from a dropdown then getting random note sequences to recognize that are “Bach-like”, getting these patterns into the brain!
You have to pay to use your pianos input
You have to pay premium to use your own instruments input and there’s just a keyboard on the screen to use for free, I would’ve never downloaded the app and wasted my time trying to figure out how to set it up if I knew this from the start. Completely useless
Mostly great app
I do love this app. Very useful even without paying. I paid for the full version mostly just to support the developer. Saying that first… but why did you shrink the keyboard in the latest update? It makes it a lot harder to hit notes with your thumbs while you’re reading.
Nach IPhone Update fehlerhaft
Nach dem gestrigen Iphone-Update erkennt die App meine vom Piano gespielten Noten überhaupt nicht mehr. Eine Kalibrierung ist nicht möglich. Löschen und Neuinstallation bringt auch nichts. Was ist da los?
Great app, but needs some improvements
I’m glad to find an app that shows real-time notes as you play them, but the interactive sight reading lessons don’t indicated the rhythm of the notes very well. The highlighted note indicator moves with the notes played, not the rhythm, which is very confusing for me. I think it would help if the note was highlighted for the duration in which it is suppose to be played, (with maybe a built in metronome), especially for the early lessons. Hopefully, this will change in future updates. I do like the lesson pacing and gradual increase in difficulty.

LLM Nonsense, Yikes
The quiz format is fine, I guess, but all of the lessons are so obviously written by an LLM (like ChatGPT). “Real music doesn’t just go up and down—it waves.” Completely useless fluff. Absolute nonsense. Surprised the rating is as high as it is. I can’t imagine willingly paying for lessons nobody bothered to write.

Version as of Feb 2026 is verry buggy
Treble exercises with sharps: after the first few notes after sharps only register as correct if I play the sharp, even though those notes have no sharp. Custom exercises: If I set it to any other key than C, it tells me I'm wrong when playing the actually correct note.

Love the app, but one bug.
I love this app and have practiced over 400,000 notes with it. However, on G flat major, the custom mode switches between B4 and B4 flat indiscriminately for some reason. Other than that, fantastic app!

Nice, but lacks features
Really cool app, helps learn and practice notes on the piano. A couple of features are sadly missing though: 1. Ability to detect multiple notes at once. Actual sheet music makes you play left and right hands together, sometimes multiple notes in each hand. This app only lets you practice one note at a time. 2. No mode for practicing timing. The cursor will just progress as soon as you press the key. Capability to set a tempo and let the app score you (like guitar hero) would be super helpful.

as i play the real piano and there are two identical notes in the exercise or music the app cant detect the second time i press the key unless there is a long pause between the two
Missing Key Signatures
Only for very new beginners, I bought the app, but regretted it after realizing the key signatures are missing since that’s what I really struggle on. Hopefully the developer adds it!! Otherwise it has great sound and practice for single keys. No chords.

Not for sight reading
As far as I can tell so far this will do nothing but create TERRIBLE habits for sight reading. It stops at wrong notes, doesn’t keep moving, no metronome to keep you on task etc. Hopefully I’m missing some setting in here, but haven’t found it yet. If you’ve never read music before it will help you sort out where the notes are, but it seems to be about the worst thing you can do for literal “sight reading”.
Microphone input from a piano does not work
I got this app because I wanted to use my actual piano, not a midi instrument. The microphone input just doesn’t work. It cannot keep up when you play at speed, and even when you play very, very slowly it misses about one in 10 notes (it does not advance when you play the note on the score). this is the case at all levels of microphone sensitivity. That makes it pretty worthless as a learning platform for me. It might be better with MIDI, but as I said, I want to use my actual piano.
Premium not worth but free version is great if your just starting out.
Auto scroll from sound works really bad also it’s made for beginners and has a little note course but it doesn’t say which fingers to use or how to move your fingers. The premium is not worth the $4. It would be a great addition to add a note chart you can click and look at within the app and maybe even show how to move your fingers across the piano. I did learn the note positions at least.
Note hints can’t turn off
How do I turn note hints off? When I click it it doesn’t do anything and I can’t find anything on how to turn it off. Please help!

I’ve tried several sight-reading apps, and this one has been by far the most effective for me. When I first started learning to read music, ledger lines felt almost impossible. This app helped me gradually build that skill in a way that was challenging without being overwhelming. I especially appreciate being able to customize the range of notes I want to practice. The progression of the lessons is excellent…each level pushes you forward without feeling impossible, which kept me motivated to continue. I’ve also noticed a significant improvement in my ability to read accidentals and recognize notes more quickly. If it weren’t for this app, I honestly don’t think I’d be learning the songs I’m working on now. The structured practice and difficulty scaling made a huge difference in my progress. I also enjoy the song exercises and would love to see even more of them, especially longer versions. It’s nice to be able to practice pieces like Canon in bed, but I always wish the song continued! My biggest feature request would be a dark mode. I often practice in the evening, and a night mode would make the experience even better. Overall, this app has been an important part of my piano journey, and I highly recommend it to anyone learning to read music. 🖤🎹✨❤️

Wow!
I'm taking an online class in Piano for beginners, but it's frustrating when you don't know how to read the staff or notation. This app has helped me 100% to learn the notes and not being painful! This is excellent.
Beginner
Nice idea but the keyboard is just too short a keep hitting the wrong note trying to pan across. More importantly, lesson numbers are all screwed up (on treble, anyway) so you’ve no idea where you are when you want to jump back in. Hope that the paid version might be better but still rubbish. Extremely poor quality control. ☹️

Legacy note geneation
Hello, not sure where to report this but legacy note generation has a bug where it requires two note inputs. I think before the update it was just single notes. Legacy note generation is good for practicing large note leaps, etc. Update has been great so far!
Wrong notes
It’s frustrating when you press a note you know is right on the app and it tells you it’s wrong. You can’t progress

I use this app for learning notes, that works great, so I bought the payed version for extra songs…. But this only added 2 songs… I am really disappointed!

A great train app
My music reading skills have improved significantly since using the app. I’ve decided to learn the bass clef too since the treble clef went well. The next challenge is learning rhythm timing better.

The recent update is terrible. Changing the scope of the piano every session is terrible. How can varying scopes be conducive to learning?

Easy to use, simple interface that makes it easy practice. This app is a lifesaver for leaning the notes. I also lets me set the range and work on specific areas I need to practice. Can be used with a keyboard or standalone for travel. Exactly what I needed!!

Génial mais le MIDI bug
C’est App est vraiment GÉNIALE pour apprendre à lire les partitions et surtout pour les lire vite et retenir l’emplacement des notes. Pr contre j’ai un gros soucis pour connecter mon piano. J’ai une connection MIDI vers mon téléphone (cable), et quand je clique sur le bouton midi dans l’app, on me propose Bluetooth ou network. Je clique sur network et on me dit connected donc c’est censé marcher, sauf que ça ne marche pas et ça ne détecte pas mon piano. Hier j’ai réussi à le connecter mais je ne sais pas comment; je cliquais et recliquais sur network, rien ne marchais et je me suis dis, bon je vais essayer Bluetooth, donc c’est ce que j’ai fais. Ça n’a pas marché mais quand j’ai recliqué sur midi une autre case est apparu en plus de Bluetooth et network mais je ne sais plus comment elle s’appelait, et j’ai clique dessus et ça a marché. Mais aujourd’hui je n’arrive pas à retrouver ce bouton !! Si quelqu’un pouvait m’éclairer ... Merci d’avance !
