- Poor accessibility for screen readers
- Devices go offline constantly
Alarm and app.
Very good alarm and app. Battery and cellular backup in case of power or internet outages. Monitored alarm system. Has worked flawlessly for over 3.5 years. Monitoring company rings immediately if there is an issue. I replace my device/ sensor batteries yearly, and don’t wait for them to run out.
Useless
Worst app I’ve ever had
It works fine?
Had online in Italy for a month, it has worked faultlessly? Don’t understand the negative reviews? Can only assume not set up correctly but for me it’s a yes and HomeKit works a dream! Read online reviews first and not app related ones? 🙏
Equipment issues
Constant issues with the system not working. Several cameras failed (let Abode know but they just suggested buying new ones), but they are only about 18 months old. Also other devises go offline constantly. I have fiber and a hotel grade multi WiFi, so only Abode to blame. Not great for insurance not having an active security system.
IOS 26 broken
Your app doesn’t work with IOS26, error message Token Error
Excellent Product
So easy to set up. Once operational, functionality can be controlled by plipper, phone app, Home app or by Siri. Great products and ease of set up and operation.
No updates for 10 months?
The app has barely changed for the last year no updates/bug fixes. This is a red flag and I’ll be moving away from the system.
Excellent but why no support for 24 hour clock
Please make it possible for reporting to use or have option for 24 hour clock.
Terrible App with glitches
For a home security app, this is poor. Firstly, notifications when a door or window are not sent to the app so that is pretty terrible. The ability to arm and disarm instantly is not present. The functionality to lock the app does not work well when you re-enter. I needed to close the app down fully first and than go back into it. Overall I would not recommend.
Unbelievably annoying
When a device runs out of battery it is impossible to stop the maddening beeping from the main unit. Impossible. The low battery device is plugged in and charging now and the beeping continues!!!! What the heck!!! The app has no help section. No contact us or support function.
Does what i want it to
This alarm was a gift from family. I was sceptical at first already having a big brand doorbell however, the system was really easy to set up. The app is easy to navigate and the security features do everything i wanted and more. I love the auto arm feature when my phone leaves the house and the interior cameras are superb.
Poor
The app completely fails to work via geofencing. It will work randomly on my husband’s phone - even if I am in the house. When a device has a flat battery, it doesnt matter how many times you change the battery, it never registers and continues to show a fault on that device.
Almost perfect!
Overall the experience thus far has been great. The app needs some improvements and fixes but so far I’m impressed.
Highly recommended
I installed the Abode system more than a year ago now and having lived with it now for a decent amount of time I can confidently say it’s excellent. I moved to Abode from the smart system of one of the world's biggest and best known security firms and have no regrets - Abode is head and shoulders better. I have added on to the base starter pack so that I can cover 3 exterior buildings ie shed, bike shed, store room. The geofencing works very well and I really appreciate the fact it doesn’t rely on mains electricity and Wi-Fi alone. Also the fact that I can temporarily increase the level of monitoring when I need it. Buy with confidence.
Useless and dangerous
Already during first setup it generated alarms, and there was no way to turn it off. A pile of pillows to drown out the noise was the only thing that helped. Total junk.
Effective and easy to install
Great system. Very effective. Easy to install, set and monitor.
Uk support not good
Company does not seem to want to support uk customers.
Has worked flawlessly
Cant quite understand why the rating is only 2.5 here on App Store. The abode app is simple to use and just works for me. Was able to do the HomeKit integration thing with ease too. Abode system is amazing and so flexible. The cue automations are simple IFTTT style trigger actions built into the system. Great to be able to use the sonos sound system in the house as a whole house internal alarm!
Completely Opaque
Our alarm has been beeping for almost two hours now. The app gives me no clue as to what is wrong. I have re-started it several times. Still no alert message - one sensor has a low battery. I remove the battery but there is no way to take the sensor off line other than to delete it entirely. Still no clue as to why the hub is beeping. Re-start for the fourth time. It beeps twice & is finally silent.
A good app, but let down by the lack of VoiceOver accessibility.
Got the Abode app, as I wanted a non-Amazon solution for my home security needs, but unfortunately the app isn’t very accessible for blind people that use the voice over screen reader contacted Abode about this but they didn’t seem interested in fixing the accessibility issues with that app also something I’ve noticed is that when the doorbell runs low on battery you do not receive any notifications or alerts this has happened. The doorbell seems to stop working and you have to go and look at the battery status
Poor product
Good quality but working options are limited. Door bell does not even show on your mobile unless you open the email like what’s the point in that! Will be going back to a ring system shortly
Push notifications don’t work
Immensely frustrating app, push notifications fail to trigger for any events - makes the alarm or video doorbell fairly useless sadly.
High expectation, big disappointment…
I have been using abode for a year and a half. Quite frankly, it is not reliable at all. I live in the uk, and I started with a set to secure the house but there was lack of materials. Understandable by the time we were in… still missing items to buy. Software and system is horrible. Every time there is an update, the system crashes. Not it is using cell back up for a week despite reset, reboot and reinicialice… not working which means cameras are not available and everything else. This system will go to the bin when we move.. I do not recommend it at all at least if you are in the UK.
