News
I Have installed Yorkshire live on my phone so now I can keep upto date on news in my area which is good to know what happening round and about in Yorkshire all the reporters make it interesting to read about local news and events that are happening around Yorkshire no matter where in Yorkshire you live
Getting Binned
Well that’s it, binning this app off. Apparently only allowed to view so many articles per week, then have to pay a subscription. No thanks
It’s ok when working correctly
The news app is ok when it works correctly. Prime example leave your e mail address above any town story to obtain the newsletter. That’s not possible. Many many more things could be pointed out but not got many letters left.
Our World.
If this app would de-sludge its craving for revenue, from it’s wish to give news, it could be a success. Temper this greed of Murdochism, And one day you will be a man, my son. Ironic int it Mr proprietor…
Not coming up with news
I only ever see old news on my app and it says oops something has gone wrong every single time I try and read comments. Given up with it now.
Exiled from Yorkshire!
I was dragged over to Lancashire by my parents when I was a youngster. I still miss God’s Own County so enjoy keeping in touch, but the News from my home area always seems to be so depressing nowadays; so different from when I lived there.
Not worth downloading
Has been free to read for years. Now being charged a subscription if you want to read full stories, including death announcements, how low can you go. Not worth downloading
Yorkshire live
I miss the Examiner live as it was more local to myself and felt more like reading the local paper. I’m sure there is implications and politics but even a North/South/East/West Yorkshire live would be more personal to most folk
News
Stories come to an abrupt end, and don’t update them to let us know the outcome. Saturdays are a let down and continue week after week on the same theme which by looking at the comments on these stories people are tired of this. Journalists take their content from other media papers or Facebook, seldom do journalists go out to interview at the scene. e.g. the story of the couple living in their car in Redcar sea front appeared day after day on YL no journalists went to interview them or asked questions where the male drove to every day, then after a week the story ended. The murder trial of Star Hobson, was printed for one day as what was said in court, then nothing. YL used to have a dedicated court reporter covering Leeds and Bradford crown court. Now I have to read live details as it happens on Telegraph and Argus website. A few years ago YL was worth reading, but now no newsworthy stories as you can see for yourself, why is this happening?
Unable to spell
Whoever is writing these reports needs to go back to school I only use this add to continually laugh at the spelling mistakes 🤣🤣
Rubbish content rubbish app
Most of the articles aren’t newsworthy or current but regardless of that, even if there is an article that I actually want to read it is very difficult- keeps jumping to the end of the article. I usually just give it up as a bad job
Same App, Slower Loading, More Clickbait
Click on the app, still has to load articles (even with background refresh on) Absolutely full of irrelevant click bait ads which are now bigger in the new version.
Unremitting gloom
Notifications are depressing. People dying in Yorkshire and terrible murders… too depressing and not the Yorkshire I live in
Yorkshire live
Fantastic
Frustrating
Full of adverts and the site constantly reloads making it difficult to read an article. It must one of the worst news apps out there.
bugs
hi ,so as I have to down load an older version therewont be any bug killing ..will there ? I cant even have old version onnmy devise as I camt update ..neber mind . thankkyou .SM.
Negative and depressing
I find the Yorkshire Live feeds to my iPhone thoroughly depressing. Murders, rapes, hooliganism ... it’s never ending. Enough. However, I can’t seem to find a way of switching off the daily notifications of misery and crime.
Pathetic Rubbish
Terrible journalism, bad writing, full of typos. Often full of rubbish about strictly come dancing, stuff that has no relevance to Yorkshire. And now they have the audacity to put up a paywall.
Deactivated comments
I am amazed at the amount of times my comments get deactivated, and I can’t understand why! Some off the comments that are allowed are disgusting, far worse than mine, and they don’t get deactivated? Come in Yorkshire Live get your act together,!!
Excellent app
Great way to keep up with local news especially at this worrying time
Frustrated
Disappointing the fact I have to subscribe to read stories and events. No news is good news
More ads
Slow to load and at too many misleading ads
Local News
Good local informative news.
Can’t believe what they did to this app!
I cannot believe that the most recent update to this app has gone down the same route as the BBC News app did in their recent update! Did no one at MGN bother to research what happened to that app and the terrible feedback and massive number of deletes after the BBC news app updated? You’ve made the same errors as they did, and no doubt you’ll get the same response from users - delete! This is now similarly unusable, so delete it will be. Just saying…
Comments
I don’t want to join a club or give personal information to you so I guess I won’t be commenting on most of the drivel you call journalism And congratulations on being implicit with the panic buying morons
Great app
Useful app. Really like the personalisation element, allowing me to receive updates on the news from areas I really care about.
Not worth paying for
Used this app for a while now and have got used to the poor reporting, use of stock “Google “ photos and the obsession with some little known Yorkshire tv stars but now expecting people to pay for this rubbish is ridiculous. Bye Yorkshire Live
Daily local news
I like this app to keep up to date with what’s going on in my local area. I think it would be improved by comments being permanently turned off as they make for thoroughly unpleasant reading written by the same trolls every day. They seem to be poorly moderated.
Huddersfield Examiner
Great to hear the news about Huddersfield (especially Huddersfield Town!) in Adelaide, Australia. Keep it up! Thanks.
Crap update
I use this JUST to follow HTAFC. Previously it was annoying but usable, now it’s just rubbish. Can’t filter the content, so just won’t use it. Congratulations, you’ve lost a user.
Huddersfield examiner
For a ex pat living in oz this at keeps me. In touch with news from home
Getting worse since the update
The app crashes all the time and shuts down. “Breaking news” is often hours old “Top story” can be found half way down the page Stories don't get refreshed - I get emails with new stories but yet they are not on the app, I have to go to the website to read them. Keeps logging me out Ads on stories will cover half the text and move with it so you can not read the story Alongside the fact that certain stories will have commenting switched off or anything that goes against the view of the paper will be deleted
