i have cemetery autism and i love this app more than anything.
Login with Ancestry does not work
When I click the login with ancestry button, it just opens my browser and downloads an ancestry.txt file. I can log in with ancestry just fine on the website, but the mobile app does not work
Improvement could help
If I make an update to an individual within a cemetery I’m working on, it takes me all the way back to the start. I’d like for it to at least take me back To the location in which I was working, or the individual memorial.
Not a fan of the latest update
I love the app and what it allows me to do, however, I much prefer the previous layout of the app before this latest update. But it’s their app and they can do whatever they want with it.😐
Slightly disappointed
As I do my research I am seeing many inaccuracies in people’s public recordings on the stones. Discouraging and disrespectful to those at rest in those plots.
Editing and adding something on that app is fun!

I loved it but…
I have been a long time fan of find a grave. I was addicted to the website and then when the app came out, I became addicted that as it is better on mobile devices. Recently, the app stopped working, giving me a system error and asking me to try again later. I can’t look up graves or sign in. It continued to do that for a while so I contacted customer service. When they responded, they said if you’ve already uninstalled and reinstalled it, just use the website. It’s absurd to me that there was no mention of looking into issues or trying to fix the app…just a recommendation to stop using it and use the website instead. So….the developers don’t care? Is that our take away?
Don’t care about privacy
I’m not happy with what I had to go through with trespassers bc of this app but it seems like they are trying to help me make it right so I’m thankful for that.

Login in hasn't worked in 2 months, thus rendering this a totally useless app until they care enough to fix this bug

Latest update a step back
The latest update changes the UI to a prettier, colorful, tile/icon look, but it’s a step backward in usability. (Perhaps they don’t do usability testing at Find A Grave.) My most frequent use case is to look up what current claims I have, and the new interface requires an additional click to do that. Why add an extra menu layer in the name of “prettiness”?
GPS navigation
Wow! The new GPS navigation is great! Five stars. I used the updated feature today and it totally rocks! walked right up to the grave site. A huge thank you for the update.
IRISH BLESSING ?????
I created a memorial for my recently departed Father, pictures, dates & location that only I would know & have. After I recently logged back in, I see a complete stranger named Irish Blessing took over as CREATOR. It is truly mind boggling how a complete stranger can take over a loved one’s memorial & then has the nerve to have their incoming messages disabled, how convenient! After numerous back & forth with Find A Grave the issue has been resolved, however this should not have been even remotely possible for a random stranger to take over. No surprise his profile shows he has done it to over 9,000 other memorials. Extremely distasteful.

If volunteers could contact those who submit requests especially when they have the wrong cemetery.
Log in issues?
I made my account with ancestry, have logged in on web browsers perfectly fine but when I try logging on to the app through my ancestry account, nothing happens 🤷♀️
I like it but not the app
I wish it was easier to make a note add flowers on the app.

Find a Grave has been an incredible resource in helping find grave sites of family and friends. It really becomes an emotional time to research and think about your own ancestors lives as you locate their burial plots. In many cases you likely had no idea what town or state they even lived in, or their family members were, but this site helps bring it all together. Thank you!
Never works right
I have entered so many tombstone information. Yet it only shows 9. My latest one I entered was 6/27/26, entered it 3x and it still isn’t showing up. I am going to stop using this platform. It’s no good. I don’t even want to rate it a 1…more like 1/4 of that. Through out the years it has never worked right. So frustrating.
Privacy
Findagrave is a nice hobby and I use it. It is connected to Ancestry.com. The people who manage the memorials are not necessarily family. They may put up obituaries, in the Bio, and leave the living members names and cities in the obituary. That breaks a rule but findagrave does nothing to correct it. When I edited some memorials by simply taking that out, and this is for my home parish cemetery, the managers, in the dozen or less I did, invariably refused. The response from one was that “there were no additions noted.” I did not do anything to counter that response. If they refuse to add the plot location, it was one person, then I responded and was told she did not know how it happened! And people will transfer to family. It is an interesting way to find out more about for instance one’s parents’ buddies during the war, or classmates who died as you can have a virtual cemetery. Looking through a graveyard in findagrave you will see family photos and learn about and remember people who you knew. As our Priest said at my dad’s funeral, they had full lives. If you can add dates, and bios, or memorials, requesting photos you will find a hobby that is helpful to others and free to do still. Mark your veterans with a “V.”
Works fairly well
Does what it says but when you want to take a photo you seem to have to click too many times to make that task happen. Could be streamlined a bit better. Helps nicely when folk take clear photos and some close ups of the inscriptions. Would love to be able to use my phone camera zoom and wider angle as you can find yourself falling over the grave behind you trying to fit the one you want into the frame. Keep on improving it please.
Cememtery
Think cemeteries need to be updated accordingly especially when it comes to parts of the graves that can’t be found. i was literally scolded for walking in a dead zone of non marked graves toward told not to walk a section of unmarked. We need to think about those graves and those people because without knowing it’s like a pain to connect the families. And poor or rich cemetery homes needs have all records from prior funeral home owners. Without records the person lost and forgotten and the entire point of a funeral home is to account for that. Those may not have families, but there are people who care.

Messages in the App
Why can’t I find messages in the App? I received an alert that someone sent me a message, but nowhere in the app can I find the message!
Flowers 💐 & Greetings not working
I was able to send the flower greetings up until a few days ago. It’s no longer working on my iPhone 7. I can get to the persons grave page, but now I can’t leave well wishes or even see the well wishes from others anymore. That’s sad because I never had a problem using this app or bookmark for that matter up until a few days ago. And I have been with Find A Grave for over a decade. It Saddens me that I can no longer reply when I am not near my tablet now. Sometimes when I’m out and about I see famous people pictures or something reminds me of my lost family members & I like to show them I still care about & miss those people dearly. I like to leave messages on their pages so I can see the messages again at another date in time. Sorta like looking back with them. Maybe it’s just a glitch & it returns on my phone down the line?

Helpful Website
I removed 2 stars for a very specific reason. There are so many people out there who create websites from obituaries but refuse to release them to family members to manage. I call them “dead collectors” they have absolutely no interest in the individuals but only having a lot of memorials. It’s aggravating when you want to add your own memorial for a family member and find some stranger has already created one and they refuse to turn it over to you even though they have no connection to them - and since Ancestry acquired the site it’s even worse!!
I love this app!
It’s great linking family, going back in history. This is addictive. Anyone who likes digging into their ancestral roots will love this.
Trying to add photos
Impossible I’ve spent 20 minutes just trying to add grave photos but I’ve been thwarted by FG. I’ve never had this much difficulty before. I just gave up.

Disappointing
I was excited to see this app would record GPS readings at graveside. I tried it this morning for the first time and the pin was so far off the grid that it didn’t even appear inside the cemetery. There would be no chance of anyone finding the site based on these coordinates. I know GPS accuracy can vary by a few metres due to certain conditions and poor triangulation, but this is bad. Bright sunny day today with no interference. Also, didn’t use the app to take a photo of the memorial because I like to take several pics and choose the best one to upload. Theoretically a great idea, but not going to bother with the app.

“Server Error”
Great App, when it worked. Now all get is “server error” whenever I try to sign in.

Not sure if I'm using this app. properly as I cannot find even my family plot.
No Marker Graves
The app needs to be able to filter out requests where someone has determined a problem as well as the ones that people post requests for photos and they already have noted there is no marker present. It takes too much time to drill through each request one at a time only to find it can’t be fulfilled.

Very good app. I can visit my relatives and friends grave sites even though I am 850 miles away.
Email messsages
There’s no where to retrieve messages on this app. Only the olde version of the website app has an actual “messages” tab. Several emails to the developer have gone unanswered.
Not always intuitive in layout
Can’t check messages from ap, you need to use laptop to do that.
Too slow on upload
Have been trying to upload all day and have so far uploaded 196 headstones over several hours. My internet isn't great but I can upload 400 pictures on billion graves in an hour so am blaming this app for the slowness. Other than that I like the look of it and the easy entry for transcription. Would prefer a couple changes: make uploads faster, have the next button through the entire date - many headstones only have the year, for the country of death etc allow for typing of the country so you are not scrolling constantly and consider adding marriage date for the extra details. This is something that is sometimes on headstones that is very useful info.
Needs work.
