Force pauses music
The game forces my music to pause even with all audio in the app muted. unplayable if it takes complete control of my phone.
Awesome but one quirk
So I’ll be right before the white mountain top and then 💥💥boom!💥💥 it rolls right back down the moment I hit white no matter what I do to get to the top! Other than this small frustrating quirk the game is absolutely perfect In all ways. And honestly the fact that I fall at white tip of the mountain might be my fault but I don’t think so. And don’t take this review the wrong way because I’m just trying to get my bug fixed. If you want the “game” totally get it! It’s awesome I just am I having a problem in mine! Any way awesome game minus the quirk of mine! THANKS SO MUCH TO WHOEVER MADE THIS “GAME!!”!!

Good ‘game’
The best part about this app is how absolutely not fun it is. In a modern world where many struggle with phone addiction, the unstoppable urge to open social media right before bedtime, or to indulge in a few swipes to fill any moment of free time really, it almost feels good to force yourself to open up this app instead. Call it a variety of sadism, but this app gives me the option to punish myself for my desire to indulge, and tasting the eternal torment of Sisyphos teaches me every day that there is another reality where the release of serotonin in the brain is not a cheap commodity, but rather something earned only through blood sweat and tears, as it should be. This is not a game, but rather it is the exact of opposite of every other app available on the market. There are even apps that market themselves as alternatives to social media, but require a subscription to interact with them for more than ten minutes a day. Sisyphos does not pretend to provide you with anything except a free, stoic alternative to stimulation on demand, and for that it has my respect.

Worst platformer I have ever seen. The amount of tapping and patience required is daunting and meaningless, just like that idiot pushing a boulder.
Good but could be improved
Good, simple, polished experience. I wish I could listen to music at the same time though. I tried muting sound and it still wouldn’t allow Spotify to play
Could be much better
Interesting idea but bad mechanics, having to tap and hold is extra annoying. Also I’m almost certain you cannot make it to the top, the rock just falls on you no matter how fast you click. Apparently people have made it to the top on the leaderboard but they’re either using a different device or it’s easier for them because I’ve tried many many times, many different ways and the rock always falls. Don’t waste your time.

Good idea but the concept is only half there
If you are one of those that expects this stoic excercise to also acknowledge Sisyphus’s decent back to the bottom, (as in the moments of reflection and ease as he returns to resume the torment)…it’s not there. You’ll push the rock and then be teleported in defeat back to the bottom. Yet somehow also have a scoreboard to drive you? Which ironically is a sort of reward and accomplishment. I would have given five stars had there been a walk down and no scoreboard whatsoever. If there is ever a change there I will correct my rating.

Peak game design
This game isn’t supposed to be fun, and that’s why it’s enjoyable. It’s supposed to be torturous, and it’s exactly that, just like the Greek myth intended it to be. The game will make you feel like you’re making progress, but one small slip, and you’re done. failure is devastating, as it should be in a game like this. Losing can be incredibly frustrating, and you’ll likely give up. Highly recommend.

Worst game in the world
This is the worst hame that I have ever played it’s so frustrating when you have to start over it’s makes you feel as if you’re inside the game it’s a game of misery despair and doom for eternity the game is so boring the moment I tried it i deleted it it made me feel like I would never reach the top try to do better whoever made this game or else you won’t be getting good reviews trust me I had second thoughts before downloading it

Stupid
Most people acknowledge the game isn’t fun. I find it extremely boring. I don’t know why people are so into the way the legend works and the “meaning” behind it. It’s supposed to be a game which consequentially should be fun or at the very least entertaining. This is neither. Don’t waste your time.

Игра неплохая, но в ней допущена концептуальная ошибка. Смысл бытия Сизифа в том, что он не может затащить камень в гору, он всякий раз срывается, как только становится виден пик горы. Смысл в бесконечном повторении, тусклом сиянии надежды и каждый раз внезапным, но неизбежным разочарованием. В игре камень затащить на гору можно, и даже не один раз, пропадает в такой ситуации стимулирующая надежда и становится неинтересно.
It delivers perfectly.
Sisyphos is a fantastic game, one which does everything it claims to. It is tedious, boring, and repetitive. A perfect representation of the story of Sisyphus. The art style is plain, but pretty, the movement is janky at first, but can be mastered, and the sound design is pretty good. My favorite part is that it’s something to do while I watch YouTube, the YouTube screen fits perfectly above the game and is great for ADHD. 5/5, worth at least trying

I seriously can’t believe this game exists, it is so boring.
Not a game for fun, but a well designed game nonetheless
Its boring frankly, and really a pointless challenge, but thats the spirit of the myth and so it fits the game.

If you want to prove something with this game it’s okey. Life is short… why would anyone play and waste time with something like this? But If you want to make it better, improve the gameplay. More characters, bioms, tactics, story. Maybe some dialoge.
Satisfying way to pass time
I often play this while commuting on a train or bus. It isn't interrupted by the movement, and lets the journey slip by. Sisyphus's cycle up and down is meditative. I can see how this may not be for some people as there is no "winning" but I enjoy it.

Fun to a point
Counter to a lot of reviews, I found this game fun initially. The fun game from having a goal. First, learn the rhythm. Then crest the mountain. Then make it back. Then build a streak. However at that point you basically have no reason to continue. Sure you could build your multiplier to infinity and top the leaderboards, but I’ve found that I’ve no desire to return to this game that I consider good. Maybe that’s the point and that’s fine. My gamer brain just craves more goals to climb towards. The irony is that it would be more fun if it wasn’t possible to get to the top
It’s an interesting concept but…
It’s one of those games where you’ve seen everything about it in 30 seconds. No upgrades, no xp system and your score is somewhat meaningless. In essence it’s just a flappy bird clone in a different skin.

The negative reviews just don’t understand. It’s literally pushing a rock up a hill, the description tells you exactly what to expect. You are Sisyphus and the game perfectly captures that.

Meditative. Like Daddy Long Legs, but somber
I don’t find this game frustrating. It’s in the same category as Daddy Long Legs, Verticow, Drop Not, Skyward, etc. The point is to get further each time. There are only a handful of achievements, and no cute, silly collectables most games in this category accrue. The biggest difference is that the pace of Sisyphos is more meditative. I can narrow my focus down to the placement of his feet, little changes in the path beneath him, and the pace of my breath. Is this therefore not fun fun? I suppose not. I find it restful, though. It’s worth the “offering” for that.
One must imagine Sisyphus happy
It does as I expected, as all should expect, it puts you through misery, knowing that you are the failure, you are the one who couldn’t keep pushing. But it gives you the feeling of being Sisyphus, you have one goal, one purpose, you know your purpose, and even if it is to try and try again, to never truely succeed, would you rather have no purpose at all? Or would you have one given by the gods themselves. One must imagine Sisyphus happy, this game helped me understand that.

Not Sisyphus enough
There are peaks. Sisyphus pushed the rock without peak. I like this game but I would like it more if there was an unending hill with slowly increasing difficulty. Maybe ways to customize the cosmetics would be good as well.
