Fun Game MASSIVE rebalance needed

I enjoy the game. Cute artstyle. Somewhat interesting story; doesn't have me screaming "what comes next!" but it at least doesn't keep me from skipping the dialogue. The gameplay loop is fun and has an intriguing system. Now onto the problems: First is that the i-frames system is utter garbage. When you get hit, it does this weird "pause" thing to emphasize you were hit, but there are almost zero i-frames so you can get hit multiple times in the same second. This heavily discourages any of the harder hitting attacks with the long wind-ups and really pushes the high-speed attacks or the ones that make you really mobile. Add on the fact that the high speed attacks also make stacking elemental effects much easier and you have a system that gives little reward to the "longer" attacks but almost all the risk. This also makes bosses like Nightmare Elione a massive pain to deal with, because her final phase endlessly spawns those tentacle shooters and they have a VERY high rate of fire and can spawn on opposite ends of the map or right next to you. So it again, just reinforces a high speed meta making any "long" attacks not worth it. It also makes Novu's dodge skill awkward because you can press it and it'll do the animation but still get hit sometimes which can make it very frustrating. It pushes a more "predictive" style combat as your reaction speed will almost never be quick enough to matter. Combine that with the fact that you can't choose what enemy you attack, so some skills will take you in the complete wrong direction you wanted to go and it will get annoying VERY quickly. The next problem is that the game is EXTREMELY grindy. The gameplay loop is fun but geez, I completed all 12 levels before I even hit level 7. You are almost ALWAYS going to be underleveled which means you have to spend an agonizing amount of time grinding for shards to try to catch up. This again, makes mobility the end all-be all as you won't really be able to put down the Nightmare enemies before they get enraged. This can be especially problematic with certain enemies that literally spawn projectiles inside you like those temple goop enemies that spawn that homing puddle. Sometimes while you're evading something else they always spawn behind you or very close to you which often spawns the projectile inside you so you can't really dodge it. Attacks SHOULD NOT be spawning inside you and putting you in a position you don't even get a chance to dodge, that just feels cheap and unfair. This problem is also compounded by the fact that certain enemies are impossible to dodge when enraged. Their attack animation is too quick for your movement speed to keep up. This just becomes a punishment for being underleveled because between the unfair hitboxes/dodge mechanics and the enraged enemies that punish you for not having enough damage output, you're forced to go back and grind the same level for the 300th time. It isn't a skill-check, it's a "did you grind for enough hours"-check. Crystals, pet snacks, and the golden equipment prisms are very hard to come by especially for all the stuff that uses crystals. I even bought the no ads thing and it STILL feels sluggish to grind through. I also don't particularly like the fact that the elemental stabilizers are locked behind a paywall or "daily ad", as it severely restricts the creativity behind theory crafting. I'm not saying you should ALWAYS be able to get the exact build you want, but it should definitely be easier to get elements you want or at least more variety than just 2 main elements available at any given time. I also REALLY need to be able to choose where my attacks go. The current system is insanely unpredictable. Frequently I'll use the leap attacks and it'll go for the enemy all the way across the map, and ignore the three enemies between me and that singular one. This obviously puts me in a bad spot AND i take damage from every single attack that I happen to travel through. The current "auto-choose the closest target" is very infuriating. i might actually drop the game because of this feature. way too annoying not being able to choose targets. Again, the game is very fun, but some of the mechanics leave a bad taste in my mouth as they feel restrictive or kindof annoying. I still very much enjoy the game though; a lot of effort has clearly been put into it and it has a lot of polish, there's just some intentional developmental decisions that I don't particularly like or agree with that reduces the fun alot. the "enemies attacking off screen" and the "dodges not working" needs to get fixed asap, im actually about to quit this game over that. like you're gonna shove "deals" and microtransactions down my throat but not fix that VERY frustrating portion of the game? cmon man. the new pumpkin and invincibility modifiers are insanely obnoxious. Even before "detonation" they constantly fall ON you so when you're trying to dodge an enemy, the sudden hitbox blocks you from moving. Add on that the game stages have really nonsensical/invisible barriers and you can't tell when you can and cant move. It's really dumb and infuriating. The invincibility frequency is a tad overtuned as well. and when either one appears, it makes the targetting issue 10x worse because i'll try targetting an enemy and then the auto-aim latches on to the stupid pumpkin. can we not make annoying modifiers that magnify the game's existent issues? please?

Solid game; payments not required

Honestly enjoying this title a lot! Ads are avoidable, but can be used for bonus items and currency. All characters can be unlocked by playing without paying; love seeing this. Screen can get a little cluttered during fights without clear distinction of what are your runes triggering or the enemy attacks. Not a detractor, but would be great if the game had controller support!

Started good… as usual

Look, the concept and idea of this game is nice. But it’s quietly employing psychological manipulation to get you to pay up on small amounts that add up quickly. It’s designed to frustrate; what people assume are bugs or glitches are intentional game design choices to make you feel “weak.” The game grind is unrewarding because it’s supposed to be; frustration leads to a higher chance that you’ll make an impulse purchase to power up so you can push through a difficult point. Balance issues are a major issue though, there is one gameplay meta and that is range and speed. Just buy the archer if you’re going to spend and only invest in them. Slow characters are going to be more difficult to do well with; you think they’re fine until you actually play the ranged character that is fast. It’s a night and day difference in quality of life. That said, this game has a relic / pet system and that is where the main gacha is. Your pets / relics are paramount to your power level and to get the best you’ll need to spend. It’d be great to get a game that didn’t try to bankrupt you every time you want to play it. Eventually you just won’t logon. And these and other devs wonder why the games industry is dying. You’re the problem. Not the players.

Gameplay, fighting

Overall, I really like this game, it’s fun, unique and offline, it’s a good check in, play for a bit, then leave game. Now why the four stars? Because I feel like the gameplay is a little… awkward at times, just that way the attacking system works, both you and enemies. It’s really hard not to get hit and also keep a combo going without switching enemies

★★☆☆☆ United States · v3.1.17 · 25 May 2026

It's fine

It's a decent enough game but the ads are way too long, progression grinds to a halt quickly, and there's no real way to farm equipment - not even common equipment. Premium currency is drip fed through achievements. Ad free package costs at least twice as much as it should. Gameplay wise, there's some wonky autotargeting going on that can really screw you up when you're fighting multiple enemies. Upgrade costs for characters seem to scale up way too high. Characters cost premium currency to unlock, which either takes a large amount of gameplay hours or $10 per character - leaving you with gameplay that stales pretty quickly until you unlock new chars. Progress is also generally gated by metaprogression rather than skill - which is fine, but the way resource costs scale means you will inevitably hit walls that you have to grind through

It’s crazy to believe this is an indie studio after playing a game with this much quality, truly an amazing game to play. Super f2p friendly, I’ve unlocked every character with many many gems to spare, and they give a lot of rewards. The combat is incredible, fresh and is very rewarding.

★☆☆☆☆ United States · v4.0.21 · 20 Jul 2026

Extremely repetitive and poor gameplay loop

For a roguelike, the combat is very simple and one dimensional— the dodge is extremely limited so your best interest is to stun lock enemies before they can attack rather than to react to their own attacks; nullifying engagement in the gameplay loop. The actual abilities and skills are quite passive and don’t contribute much, and the actual number of skills and attacks you can acquire is pretty limited and the meta is always the same. Very disappointing compared to other roguelikes

Great game, minus the “update”

This is a phenomenal game that remains unique in many of its systems: the simple, yet satisfying combat loop, the way different elements have different purposes, rather than being used for damage resistance, the way the enemies reflect this with unique attacks depending on their element, and even the story the game is built around. However, an update made earlier this year has really changed how I view this game for many reasons: The first reason is the “simplification” of the upgrade system. Previously, the blacksmith allowed you to upgrade your gear, sell it for scrap(which was one of the resources used for upgrades, which would quickly add up and had no other value…), or combine your gear. The system of combining gear was actually quite a good system: you select one piece of equipment to determine the set, and another to determine the slot, both pieces are expended in exchange for a piece with both attributes. This allowed players to prioritize a set and get rid of what they didn’t want in exchange for what they did. The new system features only the option to merge equipment. Why… While the addition of this system isn’t an issue in itself, the original system has been removed entirely for unknown reasons. My second complaint is about the fracture mode, wherein the player would play through three randomly selected regions, before fighting a randomly selected final boss. This added a sense of randomness and made each run a new experience, keeping the game fresh while players waited for the next chapter to be released. The most recent update, however, has removed this randomness entirely, setting fixed orders for each level of fracture. This creates a monotonous cycle, where the lower levels of fracture are stale and no longer challenging, and the higher levels feel like a pointless struggle against the same challenge with the same outcome. Previously, the upgrade system for upgrading your character was finite, allowing you to increase your power, while also limiting it. However, the new system allows you to increase stats beyond reasonable or necessary levels, allowing the player to become too strong for the game to be challenging or fun. While I do not believe that upgrades in games such as this should not exist, I do believe that they should be limited enough to ensure that the player gets further by improving their skills and getting better at the game, rather than by achieving immortality. These three are really the only immediate issues, but they are enough to significantly impact the way I view the game. Outside of the new upgrade systems and fractures no longer being random, the actual gameplay is still phenomenal, and it is otherwise a pretty well made game. Would love to see these issues fixed, even if some of the new features remain, as long as they don’t replace something inherently better. Haven’t played this game in six months because of this update…

Too Grindy, PTW

I enjoy grinding to a certain extent but this game is overly excessively grindy. I’m assuming in an attempt to try and force you to buy in app purchases and special currency. I shouldn’t have to grind the first area (consisting of 3 or 4 levels) 5+ times and still not be able to beat the first level of area two. Can’t imagine how many times you’d have to grind area one just to complete all 3 or 4 levels of area two. Definitely an excessive amount. The scaling needs to be adjusted for sure.
