Informative App
Have been using this app since April when we began going to Alton Towers. We have since bought an annual pass and this app is very useful and easy to use.
Not accessible friendly
The park has lots of amazing rides and beautiful surroundings. However the park is not accessible friendly at all. I use a mobility scooter and to access rides I had to leave my mobility scooter and then walk to the ride rather than at other parks enter at the exit. Half of the rides had stairs to walk to get to the ride rather than being able to go from the scooter onto the ride. Flamingo land do it this way and it means that you can get on a ride without having to walk. After the ride you exit and have to then walk back to the entrance which is a distance from the exit. This made the visit really difficult and disappointing. The access pass was not easy either, having to scan to go on a ride but then wait for nearly an hour to get on another making it a long day of waiting which is something that is hard to do and also frustrating for my neurodivergent child who has major issues with times and having to wait so again this was our first and likely last visit unless the access to rides is changed and the pass.
Great, but too busy
It is really nice but given that this is a holiday weekend, it was too crowdy and a bit uncomfortable to swim in
Bad navigation tool
ok for queue time, but absolutely terrible for navigation. Stay with ur hard copy map!
Ok
The WiFi was so bad and i couldn’t even check the queue times
Visit
We came as a family of 4. Was great got on everything we wanted.
App not working how it should.
I downloaded the app so all my information was together (staying in the hotel, two day tickets for the park, two dinner reservations and additional add on) and kept telling me that the search for all my details has failed. None of my info went onto the app, which meant I had to print everything off. Tried everything to actually talk to someone about it and had no luck and the live chat didn’t help at all. The app is brilliant for knowing the queue times but could be so much better.
cool
Nice
Mixed feelings about this park
First day, 3 attractions were closed for most of the day Second day, only one main attraction was closed the whole day. Next to Hex that seems to be closed for months. Some rides really neat some new seats, at some seats the metal was sticking out due to lack of upholstery. The park from a nature perspective is beautiful, the staff is a really very friendly and great
Alton towers
I love the theme park and the app and how they do it and I really recommend because when you are at the theme park they provide you with a map queue times and try wickerman when you go because it’s my favourite
Too much walking
Me and my friends went to Alton towers for a day trip with school, but I was quite dissatisfied with the amount of walking and we only got two rides as all of them had very long queues
Nice app
But the internet is a bit glitchy near Fobidden valley so you won’t be able to access the pp in that area
Not accurate wait times
Don’t look at the wait times!! They are not accurate. Went to the Smiler, wait time was 90 minutes, okay awesome! We ended up getting on the ride THREE HOURS LATER. otherwise great experience but at least be honest with your wait times… otherwise compensate the guests
Very helpful
Im at Alton towers today and this app came super in handy and it’s amazing how u can just get directions to the rides like on maps and how it’ has options to show u where things are I would highly recommend this app if u ever go to Alton towers and it shows the queue times regularly as well which is very accurate thanks to Alton towers for making my day a great day and the staff are doing great keep it up 👍
Downloading tickets
Used a few time and always had trouble downloading tickets/ hotel bookings to app. ‘Code Not recognised etc’. Although not essential, it is annoying when this service is apparently available
Great app but …
This is a great app and I love all the rides here but I really wish that you can reorder your daily plan rather than having to start again. Another thing is I wish that this app showed the queue times for the single rider queue and the fast track queue. Overall this is a great app that is dead easy to use so I would definitely recommend it.
Best app best park
If you go then you’ll know
Unreliable
Does not work effectively or efficiently has loads of bugs. Feel it needs updating and bug fixing. Kept crashing.
Good but one thing
ADD QUEUES TIMES WHEN YOUR NOT IN THE PARK
Alton towers 12/08/2026 13/08/2026 :)
Alton towers was amazing I went as a ten year old and love the smiler and would recommend it to anyone just over 1.4m as it’s a world record breaking roller coaster with 14 inversions on the ride and 2 lift hills one being vertical, and being a new opening for 2025 toxicator is a amazing flat ride the way it spins you in the air is amazing but if your 9 and over 1.4m you can’t do it as it has a age limit 10+ bit sad about that but everything else is great apart from nemisis sub terra it was not my favourite at all you get poked in the back and the restraints for a 20ft drop have little rubber bits on making it irritating on your legs but the theming is really cool being the story of nemisis the creature it’s very cool!
Does not open
Tried to open it multiple times, everytime I try it starts to open then instantly crashes. Tried redownloading, turning off the phone etc. nothing works, disappointing when you’re sent a text urging you to download it by the hotel before a stay.
Queue times off park gone again
Laughable that in the 5.14.9 update queue times were visible off-park (like they are for every other Merlin park), but two days later 5.14.10 hides them again. Why?!
Fantastic day out
Something for everybody! 😊

Doesn’t work, app will not open
Nonexistent Map Routes?
No complaints other than the map trying to send me down no entry paths multiple times. This was an issue on the way to Thirteen from Nemesis Reborn and on the way to The Smiler from Thirteen. Other than that, wait times were pretty accurate and the app was helpful.
The BEST resort ever.
I’ve been to Alton towers a few times, and all of those times I’ve walked out smiling. My top 3 rollercoasters would be smiler, nemesis and galactica, I definitely recommend visiting!
?
Smiler was shut
Day out at Alton Towers
Had a lovely day in Alton Towers. The rollercoasters were great and the wait time weren’t too bad. The longest wait was 40 minutes for Galactica.
Review of app, not the Park. Some small probs you should know of, but pretty overall.
The App is good! The map is easy to navigate and the search function returns good results. The on-foot navigation works, but occasionally I found slightly shorter routes. It might be something to do with it consistently placing me 5-10 meters to the left of me IRL, so it though I was consistently either swimming in water, or clambering through trees to get where I was going! This kind of thing makes a difference when you consider you could easily walk 6 miles in the day. The ride info is slow to update - which is a problem, as you will dash across the park for a ride that is in fact closed (a common problem for Alton). You also can’t pay in-app with APL or GLG Pay which is shortsighted of Merlin as it adds a hurdle to potential customers. Paying the long way round does function just fine though. If you do buy tickets/passes on there, they should add to the app seamlessly, and you can also add tickets retrospectively if you have your email and transaction number, which is useful.
Warren
Been trying for weeks now to add my booking and tickets to the app and it’s still not working…have contacted customer service several times and they can do nothing.
Fun but scary
It was verrry fun however very scary
Doesn’t work
Doesn’t recognise booking confirmation number, making it pointless
