Overall good service and a good app, with good security and privacy. If you want a good experience with traveling day to day around Colombo, this should be your top choice. The app responds well and is almost unrecognizable that this is run by the government. Seriously it’s that good. The only downside is that you can’t pay for your friends or family who are traveling with you, and there are no week passes or monthly passes. The map and location services are subpar compared to the technology that we have today. You can’t locate yourself on the map and the map doesn’t show how far you are from the nearest metro bus stop. The system only gives you a vague idea about how filled or empty the bus is, as it doesn’t show how much seats are left available to be seated. Sometimes the GPS systems on the metro itself act quite strangely, sometimes under predicting or over predicting the estimate time of arrival of a metro. I’ve personally had dealt with this issue once , where i had to run and then cross the main road to catch the next metro, which was not convenient at all. It would be great if those areas were looked at. I’d definitely come back and rate 5 stars if these are dealt with.
Passenger current location is not available
I tried to use this app to get into a metro bus in an unknown place. But since my live location is not available, I couldn’t find the bus stop to get in & I missed the bus. Pls update our location also to find the bus stop as well. Other than this, this app is great. 👍

I believe the usability can be improved more specially to view the timing of arrivals of the busses

Overall a good solution. But better to add external map integrations so we can open the stopping locations on external maps and navigate.
Overall good direction needs improvement
Maps load all the data including every bus location simultaneously making the experience laggy. Not very reliable for slow connection or low connectivity areas. Visual components seem to re-download every single time the app is opened Moovit is another good transit app that can be used as a reference

Some most useful features are missing.
Please add a feature to search available buses when the user enter from where to where he or she wants go. When the user enter the origin and destination, a list will show with all the all the available buses traveling that journey. Maybe later add a feature to book a seat when there are enough buses.

Great App with a Simple and Straightforward Experience
Overall, the LMT Metro app provides a really good experience. The UI is clean, straightforward, and easy to navigate, making it simple to find the information you need. One feature that would make the app even better is showing the user’s current location on the map. This would make it much easier to figure out directions from your current location to the nearest metro stop or station. Adding a simple “Locate Me” option or GPS-based navigation would be very useful. The app already has a solid and user-friendly foundation, and with a few of these improvements, it could become an even more useful everyday companion for metro users.
Where are the busses???
Was this app vibe coded with just a single prompt? The timings are off and it shows busses that don’t even exist. It’s near impossible to catch a bus from anywhere that’s not the starting point. Not to mention the bugs Dev team is making sure we keep our Sri Lankan identity even as we try to progress

Overall, the app is great and really useful. It would be awesome if it could show your live location and provide directions to the nearest bus stop.

Cannot check my current location
Please add a wag to check my current location and which halt is next. Need to inform bus driver to stop in all halts properly and open the doors. They are not stoping in some halts when there is no passangers. Even if there is passangers or not there should be a rule to stop the bus at every halt. So people people away from the halt wont miss the bus

OTP / SMS auto-read failure
A minor edge case which I encountered now as an onboarding new user to the app was the failure of the OTP or SMS auto-read from my iOS device. A minor issue, but as it impacts the user experience flow, it surely can affect the overall experience - especially in the on-boarding process, which can affect the user to discontinue in the early stages of the apps experience. However, the overall app seems fine and would rate it 4/5. This is indeed not a complaint but to ensure the app quality is improved for future users.
First ride experience
Had a fair enough comfortable ride.Conductor was so kind to people.Arrived on time. But there is no way of finding out the cancelled trips.Better to improve the app with that feature as well. i was awaiting for the bus WP-NE-5237 which was scheduled to arrive sethsiripaya 15.29 but it didn’t come at that time.I believe it was cancelled because i was there since 3.15. it was not even showing in the app. instead i had to catch the next one which was scheduled for next ride.
Foreign numbers need to register too
Only +94 numbers can register with the app foreigners should able register with the app who have foreign mobile numbers.
Search Bar Issue
When we search and go back after the search, no search bars availability to research immediately! It going to the front page and we need to go back to the search bars and re enter details agian ! Hope fix this asap

Needs Major Improvements to Match Modern Transit Apps
Lanka Metro Transit has potential, but the app experience still feels unfinished. Please add support for Amex cards. Also, the live map seriously needs improvement — smoother animations, real-time movement, and a cleaner UI like other modern transport apps. Right now, the map honestly looks like it was designed by an intern. Hope to see major improvements soon.
