What people like
- Swipe feature makes learning anxiety-free
- Interactive AI feels like a native
- Fun custom instructor personalities work well
What they complain about
- App crashes and shows black screens
- Voice recognition is inconsistent and unfair
- No formal grammar or conjugation rules
- Forces subscription before you can try
so fun!
why is no one talking about this app?! i love how you can change the way your instructor talks to you. the mean setting it’s hilarious 😆 it’s actually correcting me and helping me learn faster. i feel like i’m talking to a native. i’m way more excited about learning a new language and being constant now!
Not user friendly
Since last update the app is not very user friendly and it’s very frustrating to use. As a user I leave the app immediately. Hope this feedback can help.
Could be great 🫠
Need some more bugs fixed! Distortion on the written responses make it illegible when the assistant is providing responses. Kinda defeats the purpose of learning.
The new version is not as good
The first time I downloaded it was so good and fun, now they rebuild it, and it gets stuck sometimes and the UX / UI is kind of annoying, it’s not as friendly anymore :(
It’s a decent app
The app works good, but the AI constantly say that I’m saying wrong when I know that I’m not considering that I’ve been taking Spanish classes for a few years now and I know my pronunciation isn’t incorrect. The app also costs a good amount of money for what it’s worth when popular and just as good apps are cheaper if not free.
Love it
This app is so interactive, really love it!
This scam
They took 49.99, I explained that I didn’t meant to keep the subscription and tried to explain it to apple but nothing. Not an app to use and apple did what it does best. Taking money away.
I like it
I wish it had Portugal Portuguese
You HAVE to pay to even open the actual app:(
Wouldn’t let me open the app without having me to pay for a yearly subscription for 80 dollars
Great but…
I like that there’s different sections for concepts you want to master like Vocab or grammar. You can even have real conversations through text or speaking. However, and the biggest drawback, is there’s no formal teaching of conjugations or grammar rules. This is highly important when learning a language so you’re left with taking quizzes without even learning the foundational knowledge to answer correctly which is very frustrating. Overall, an okay language app
APP Fine—Won’t Open
I enjoy using this app, and it does some things other apps don’t do. But you very time ai try to open it after the first time it’s been opened, it just gives me a black white screen. Crashed, or something?
Very bad
Full of errors, instead of teaching me the language I want, it asks me to learn the one I know.
?
I was expecting more from this app. I did a Spanish speaking lesson, I said exactly the same words it was showing in the list before start and it kept saying all the time that the words were wrong, and saying different words.
Something wrong
I purchased this app last week, it would be great if it didn’t make you repeat the same lessons over and over… I can’t work out how to fix it and it’s quite annoying so I will be deleting it unfortunately
Question
Genuine question will you be adding Arabic to the languages u can learn? Just a question I had.
Response time is ridiculously slow
I really wanted to enjoy this app but a couple of things make it incredibly frustrating. AI model is not understanding the audio and the response time is RIDICULOUSLY slow. It shouldn’t take 10-15 seconds to respond and count against my 3 min time limit.
Good app but
I wish i could remove the vosotros part of learning. My family and friends do not use vosotros so it feels pointless to practice. Otherwise it would be great
No good time
I really like the concept of this app, but the voice recognition is too inconsistent. I often pronounce a word the same way twice. The first time, it tells me it’s incorrect, but when I repeat the exact same pronunciation, it suddenly accepts it as correct. Because of this, I waste most of the 3-minute voice practice repeating words that I already pronounced correctly. As a result, I can’t finish the lesson or unlock the next level. The 3-minute limit is simply not enough when the app keeps asking you to repeat the same words. I hope the developers improve the voice recognition and either extend or remove the time limit.
Cool
Very good and very amazing
Mal
Me pareció una app sorprenderte pero al instalarla me pedía pagar 79,99 al año . No hay opción de usarla si no es pagando así que mejor me quedo con Duolingo , que triste por que me pintaba fascinante verni
Slow and glitchy
This app is fun and engaging especially the speaking feature but it takes forever after giving a response in the speaking section. Not sure if it’s a bug or the AI model they use is extremely slow. If they made the app faster (and also cheaper) I would try again.
De pago con prueba gratuita
Aunque ponga que es gratis con planes de pago en realidad es solo de pago pero dan 7 días gratis para probarla. No he probado la app por lo que no valoro que sea buena o mala
Actually Amazing
I don’t even write reviews but I had to say that I just got this like 20 minutes ago, but the swipe feature for new vocab literally takes away all anxiety stemming from the desire to swipe. And I just did a crossword (that it generated based on the new words it introduced to me— which said I knew and wanted to know), and idk why it works so well but I’m immediately amazed at how successful I ACTUALLY am at eventually deciphering the words I literally JUST learned. I’m just getting started. Looks like an app that is ACTUALLY WORTH PAYING FOR
Another subscription…
Look I get it that apps are always trying to make money for their hard work. But I don’t even bother if an app forces the immediate subscription onto me even if it’s a free trial cause now I have to pay attention before it charges me. Look I would love to try this app out if it has a proper you get to experience the first couple lessons or features before I hand my card over to you. Because words don’t mean anything if I can’t experience it personally.
Anglais
L’app aurait etait mieux si l’app aurait un système de traduction car tout est en anglais et on peut pas apprendre l’anglais si on est français
Great app but crashes?
I’m loving the app so far it’s super fun to learn Japanese and pretty helpful but it’ll randomly read “category not found” and I can’t learn anything and it won’t go away with refreshing the app. So I have to deleted and redownloaded it and it restarted my progress which is so annoying. Help fix this please 🙏
Scam
No content, app crash, keep your money
The app worked at first
The app worked when i first downloaded it. It spoke to me in Italian, which is what I wanted. And every time after that it just spoken in English and I couldn’t get it to speak to me in Italian even after deleting the app and re-downloading it again, it still doesn’t work. It looks like a great app if it could function properly. I would’ve been happy to pay for it but the settings need to be updated so you can customise it better. It doesn’t hold many vocabulary words which is super annoying. The idea of the features are great. But it definitely needs A LOT of improvement before anyone should pay the asking price (which is just ridiculous) for an app that doesn’t function well.
Game changer
I tried many languages apps. This was the first that kept me engaged
Not free
Before you can even see if the app is for you, or worth it, they make it so you absolutely cannot use it unless you agree to a free 7 day trial and they have your card info. I went in expecting to be able to learn, and just immediately ended up deleting it afterwards, seeing as how it didn’t let me proceed without agreeing .
Not ready
Clearly vibe coded for the most part and not ready for release. The voice chat is great especially when it’s on “mean” mode but the listening mode is, quite simply, surprisingly bad. I still think it will be better than Duolingo but they have some work to do.
Best app for vocab
Such a smart concept, good value for money
forced to pay
i kept hearing a lot of good things about this app but once i got it and tried to work it i was forced into having to do a free trial i know a lot of apps that have you pay as well but atleast they give you an option to have a free mode and not pay just to use the app i think i would’ve liked and used the app if there was a way to use the app without having a free trial or paying
Outdated
Unfortunately for Korean anyway the sound is not working for the words. Also the questions under learning activities don’t show choices just “Option 1” or option 2,3,4. The app needs to be updated.
Great for french
Loved it!!
Having to pay
I don’t like how you have to pay there’s other apps that don’t make you pay and I would’ve used it if it didn’t force me to start a free trial
