Great
Came here from TV Time and I am more than impressed!
Glitchy!
The devs banned me from the official discord for being “too negative” because I said the app is glitchy lol. How Pathetic. I don’t think I’ll be missing much, it was always ever filled with a bunch of fartsniffers, constantly pandering to the patronizing, egotistical devs. I’ll look you up next time I’m in Paris my guy. ;) App deleted!
Gostei
Impossibile importare Tv Time
Alternative à TV Time
Made Leaving TV Time So Much Easier
I came to Refract after TV Time announced its shutdown, and I genuinely could not have asked for a better transition. I had years and years of viewing history to move, with tens of thousands of items, and Refract managed to recover nearly everything. Only 40 titles didn’t make it over, which was honestly better than I expected. What has impressed me most, though, is the team behind the app. They’ve been incredibly transparent throughout the migration, communicating openly about issues, updates and what they’re working on. When I had an account issue, I reached out and they personally fixed it for me. That level of communication and connection to an app’s development is rare and made a stressful transition feel as smooth as possible. I also really appreciate their commitment to keeping the core tracking experience free and, importantly, making our data accessible to us. After nearly losing years of history with TV Time, knowing I’m not handing my data over to be held hostage matters to me. The app itself is clean, intuitive and enjoyable to use, and the developers are actively listening to community feedback and continuing to improve it. I’m excited to see what Refract becomes. I’m definitely sticking around.
Data didn’t transfer
Disappointed on how much of my tv time information did not travel over to this app. It’s missing like a good 40% of what I had. Also the layout is annoying
Buona app
Doesn’t work
I’ve tried nine different apps to find one to replace TV Time and despite this one being talked about the most, it just doesn’t work. I understand they’re overwhelmed, but it’s been a week now and they still haven’t figured out how to get the app working. I’m so disappointed.
iPad version
iPad version would be great!
Great TV Tracking App
I switched over from Tv Time when it went down and was surprised to see how good this app is. Commenting feature with GIFs, more clean and refreshed UI, and I could transfer all of my data.
Won’t load
After clicking Google to create an account, it just gets stuck on a swirling circle of death
Apparentemente funziona
Tv timers, your app is HERE!!
US TV timers had been "displaced," but Refract has given us a home. Thank you, Refract! HIGHLY recommend!
Slow
I thought I found the perfect app after TV Time closed down, but it is so miserably slow. Sometimes just waiting for show to be marked at watched will take several minutes and adding to a custom list takes even longer.
Suggestion
All In One
Recently discovered after the demise of TV Time, and so far so good. A UI that takes a minute to get used to, but when familiarity kicks in it’s quite intuitive. The fact that everything is in one place, movies, TV shows, Anime, that’s really handy, and I know that they are intending to introduce books and video games too, heck if they add music would there be a need for anything other tracking app? The only downside I’ve noticed is the character limit on reviews. Having been on Letterboxd for 10 years, I’ve amassed quite a hefty portfolio, and moving to Refract to be faced with a 2000 character count is… challenging, but it has meant I’ve become more disciplined, but I don’t have the freedom to explore ideas (I don’t write for others, I write for me as I find it helps me understand movies/shows better). Maybe I just need to start a blog. Early days, but so far so good. There are paid tiers but it’s all aesthetics, everything you have access to everything you need off the bat completely Ad free. Fingers crossed for their continued success.
Lots of potential!!
As a TV Time refugee, it was traumatizing to see one of my favorite apps going under without much warning. I scrambled to find an alternative, and happened upon a rogue post that recommended this, so I gave it a shot. Took a while for my import history to be cleared but boy oh boy was it worth it…the devs make a point to listen to their community & are improving the app constantly. At this point I would say that for a team as small as they are, this app has the potential to surpass TV Time in the coming years, or sooner, given how fast it’s been growing. All the negativity you read is because people either aren’t patient or don’t understand that the Refract team was struggling to keep up with the demand because they’re indie devs, which means they’re a VERY small team. And they exceeded expectations. 11/10. P.S. these guys will get my money. If yall don’t want this to end the same way as TV Time did, I suggest a donation.
Slow … VERY slow!
I am looking for a replacement for TV Time which is being discontinued, but the last few days when trying to use this app, it’s been impossible to use because of how slow it is. The search for a replacement continues because Refract isn’t the answer!
buona
Ugh
It's terribly slow, I can't import files from another application because an error pops up. I also can't add movies and series manually because of how slow it is
iPad
iPad version please!
TV Time Alternative
I am one of the TV Time lost members. I tested so many other TV tracking apps, and this is the best one for me. I love data, and this provides plenty of it. I had no idea Sam Jackson was my #1 actor I watch. I do now thanks to this app. Yes, the upload of the TV Time, IMDB or Trakt may take some time, but once it’s loaded, it’s an amazing app. It’s my daily use now.
Meh
Immediately gave an error trying to create an account. Also no ipad layout.
I can recommend this one
Coming from tv time this has one of the better potential replacements. One thing I’d immediately like to see is a grid view for the continue section since you can have it open to it and I always preferred that over list view on tv time. Next is hopefully we can get the ability to change the poster artwork. Also noticed you can swipe to upcoming but when you try to swipe back to continue is just goes back to home Last when you’re on a show it would be great to have the seasons and episodes near the top just like tv time. Love the app so far and am here for the constant updates and improvements. Excited for where this app goes
No gdpr import option
I download as a possible option coming from TV Time but there isn’t an option to import the complete gdpr file! Hope it get in next updates! But the interface looks cool
The Potential
This is not a paid promotion or anything like that. As of the writing of this review, I found out TV Time was shutting down about two weeks ago. I love tracking my progress with media and needed an alternative. Went to the TV Time thread on Reddit and saw someone recommending Refract. Downloaded it…and it was a mess of bugs at first. Very slow. My tracked items would reset. Sometimes I would have to close the app and then reopen it just to get it to operate. It needed a lot of work, yet I saw the potential. In just two weeks, the app runs A LOT better. The devs are constantly at work creating a better experience for users. Just this past week alone, there has been 4 or 5 updates (two came in one night). A lot of the major bugs have been fixed. I like the direction they’re going in. Definitely fits what I was looking for and is my tracking app of choice.
Doesn’t work/terrible service
DO NOT DOWNLOAD! The app works when it wants to which is never. The data you move over sometimes doesn’t recognize it. They also do updates on the app 20 times a day and each time you can’t search anything or use it. The updates last hours so imposible to use the app. Use Couch Time. A way better alternative.
Porém me decepcionei.
Buggy
If I try to mark a show as watched, it still shows as watching
Great app!
I moved over from TV Time. The app was quite slow for a little bit with the huge influx of new users. However, I am happy to report that the devs worked very hard and the app is fast and smooth now. It has a very nice interface and is actively being developed and improved. I would highly recommend this app now.
Disappointed
This is too slow, so disappointing
Ottimo lavoro
Maybe eventually, but not yet.
Pros: looks pretty, and the data appears to be accurate. Cons: completely non-functional. Incredibly slow to respond to all user inputs, and most user inputs fail for the first several attempts. It’s an exercise in frustration trying to do anything with this app other than looking at its Home Screen.
Sta migliorando
Ho scaricato quest’app perché Tv Time chiude.
Love it
Dev team working so hard to make this great. Love it. Found my new home after TvTime
Takes years for the app to load!
Extremely slow!!
so buggy even thought i like the app
i can’t log seasons or episodes. also it keeps logging me out.
Requires account. UI too crowded, text too small. Unreadable in the night.
The app has too much content in one place. One need to scroll a lot just to find the interesting actions tracking progress on shows / movies. In dark mode the colors are too faint, not enough contrast, so it's barely readable. The import should be improved. Make it open-source this could be community contributed. There was no account. No it requires one. So my imported data is locked.
Beug
Bien mais beug trop
Amazing team, great app
Since the flood of migrations from other app. The team has really moved quickly to accommodate ask the users. They are updating the app for any stability and improvements. Taking feedback. Enjoying my use of it.
Hangs on setting up account
Unfortunately can’t get passed registration - the app hangs at the setting up account page and then times out.
Tv Time Replacement?
App layout and interface is awesome! Way superior to tv time. Just feels like in app updates are slow.
Prometteur ?
