Cannot download paid software.
My wife purchased this as a Christmas gift to me in December 2026. I’m beginning to think this is a piece of junk. I have tried to download the paid for the bird identification software but keep getting the message that my payment method failed, even though I hadn’t entered any credit card info. I cannot open the “Acount information”, nor go I get decipherable no responses from the company. Anyone have any suggestions? Please respond to my request.
Don’t waste your money
I’ve had this bird feeder and the associated app for over a year. Most of the time if it’s connected to WiFi it doesn’t recognize birds and when it does it doesn’t recognize species. The WiFi comes and goes but I don’t have any issues with other devices. I won’t renew and I suggest you don’t waste your money.
Need to be able to add birds AI misses
Just got my first camera feeder 3 days ago and today has been the first crazy day of hummingbirds visiting. I’ve noticed it misses a lot of the birds, and hummingbird would be the most difficult. But it usually doesn’t recognize there’s a bird at all even for some finches and birds in the background at other closeby feeders. So at least adding the ability to add that info in myself would be great. Would also be nice to see adding male/female. Or even IDing the same distinctive bird like the RB Grosbeaks with different patterns. Also I already captured a bear attacking the feeder for sunflower seeds and it held up well. Not app related but it did let me see that massive goofball stealing the birds food! 😂
Yeah, not good
The app is not great. Nested confusing windows (no pun), confusing tools, clearly made by someone who does not speak English. Also sharing with others is confusing too. If there’s no updates I’ll dump it.
Disappointed
The app works without any bugs. I give it a three star because non-admins cannot view the livestream. This is extremely disappointing as we were expecting it to work for the family.
Bird cam is AMAZING
The camera was easy to pair and looks amazing thank yall!!!
Horrible
I can’t figure out how this is rated 4.5. I would rate it 0 if allowed. Nothing works the way it is supposed to and each time I report something, another feature gets taken away. The latest comment I received “this behavior is to be expected from Vico Nature”. What, that nothing works as advertised. I am stuck with 4 bird feeders that don’t do anything. It doesn’t recognize a squirrel, dog, a hummingbird which is sad because one is a hummingbird feeder. Oh “just keep sending feedback and we will add it to the algorithm”? For a year now? Now they have changed how to report so basically you can’t report the real issue. Winter, the thing is even worse. I literally have to take a screenshot because the app doesn’t do its job and google what the bird is. They take a week or more to get back to you. If they do get back. But you don’t reply in a few hours, they close your ticket. Sometimes they close your ticket without replying. Then they act like a person is an idiot. One person says one thing, the next something else. I feel I should be reimbursed as I bought the feeders based on the app and what the app had to offer. At the point I am at, I just want a universal app that works on my feeders. I wholeheartedly believe the ratings are fake. If it was just one feeder with an issue, that I could understand. DO BETTER. UPDATE 8/16/26 Currently I have 2 open cases, per your suggestion. One was a repeat response where you told me the exact same thing as every other response. Clearly they don’t read all previous interactions. Then in typical fashion you closed the case without a resolution. My other case had been almost 4 days since I have received a reply. Will stick to my zero star rating until this is fully resolved.
It has a few new problems now…
First of all the bird feed stuff confuses me so much it is just this huge image that takes up almost all of my screen and I don’t know how to go to the calendar image thing without tapping “bird feeder detect motion”notification. Also the live screen’s full screen can be better, the option for alarms and etc take a bit too much space, which reminds me that the squirrel alarm noise does not help at all whenever a squirrel (somehow😒) gets on the bird feeder I press the alarm and the squirrel doesn't even flinch. I love the new look though it no longer looks like a boring utility app!
No AI identification of birds
I have yet to have the app identify new birds. I have to look them up online and I’d them myself. Then the app tells me about the bird. I’m on the monthly plan and if this is how it works I may as well not use it. Advise or solution please?
Good features but buggy
This has a lot of nice features on it better than the last camera birdfeeder. Looks like the app is fairly new and there are some bugs in it such as when I go to scan the QR code from my family‘s phone to add to my birdfeeder it just says invalid barcode.

This app works with a bird feeder camera I purchased. Camera is great app is terrible. Everytime it sends a notification of activity it also logs you out. So annoying.
Mieux, mais pas encore complet
Vico Nature est une belle amélioration par rapport à Vico Home : la qualité des images est nettement supérieure, la visualisation en direct est fluide et le zoom fonctionne très bien. Un vrai progrès. Cependant, une fonctionnalité essentielle manque à l’appel : le téléchargement par lot des vidéos. Pour qui enregistre beaucoup de séquences (faune, surveillance…), télécharger les vidéos une par une est tout simplement impraticable. C’est rédhibitoire. J’espère que cette option sera ajoutée rapidement, car elle conditionne vraiment l’utilité de l’application au quotidien.
COMPLETE FALSE ADVERTISING
I would put zero stars if i could, but putting a two star review makes it harder for these greedy companies to hide your review. It was never mentioned ANYWHERE when i bought my bird feeder that i would have to pay a SUBSCRIPTION for an item i already own!! i can’t believe companies are allowed to lie like this. Save your money!!!!!
Good but could be better
This app isn’t my favorite. Y’all need to fix the buffering. I know it’s not my WiFi cuz the camera works and it notifies me, but when I try to watch the live feed it just spins. Total bummer because that’s like the whole purpose.
Love this, but can be glitchy
Worked great for the first month or so. Then started having some issues with live view not working and videos not playing. Customer service was helpful with email replies. *I think* part of the problem was due to a new Plume WiFi extender we had installed, because the second I unplugged that things started working better. I moved the extender to a different room and haven't had as many problems since. Video has been working as it should. Live view works most of time now. Love the night vision. The only thing I would change about this is I wish it was 4K instead of 2K.
No live feed since app update
So we enjoyed a brief few weeks of live feed, until the app update came out. We have only had 2 brief live feeds since updating; when I try live feed, it just times out. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, my WiFi is strong, and the brief, 10 second video clips are frequent, so frequent really, that I have to silence them when I’m at work. I have repeatedly messaged support, and mostly just receive that same answers each time, which were, and continue to be unsuccessful. At this point, I feel like a refund is in order, as we primarily purchased this product for the live feed.
Worse than vico home
Doesn’t have the connectivity issues that vico home did. But vico home captured so many birds all the time. Vico nature can go days and catch nothing. Garbage.
New app sucks
Connection is better on the new app but the rest of the features are not working. I log feedback and never hear back, detects a bird but can never even guess a species or gets it wrong, sometimes doesn’t even detect a bird. Doesn’t work for hummingbirds AT ALL but comes with a hummingbird attachment. The thumbnail picture shows a bird that the video clip doesn’t show. I’d rather have the old app back over this junk. Please fix it I loved my video bird feeder but the app is infuriatingly bad.
Love the bird cam!
Updated review: previous issues with the app not connecting to the bird cam have been resolved. I really enjoy watching the birds and seeing species I didn’t know were in my yard. This turned me into a bird watcher and now I have 7 feeders!
Over priced
The App and camera work well. However, they only function decently if you purchase the Plus subscription plan, which is vastly overpriced. I would be happy to pay for a basic subscription without all of the bells and whistles featured in the Plus plan.
Frustrating app
It was a very frustrating experience with this camera and app. Recording shutting off while there was still movement. Then after watching the babies grow I saw them wanting to fledge the nest last night. I got up to check on them this morning and they are gone and not a single recording since last night when they were in the nest.
Good App but needs improvement
The app works much better from cloud than from the memory card. Accessing the card is slow and can drain battery due to buffering wait time. Viewing from cloud works much better. You can not download the videos from either the cloud or card reliably as they stall and stop before completing the download. Even trying to download a small 10 sec video doesn’t complete.

Total trash
The app is trash and so is the help. My wife is the authorized user and we followed all of the steps and even followed the troubleshooting steps and I can’t see the live camera or watch videos at all. The help chat is not helpful. They have no idea what I’m talking about and tell me I need a subscription, which is NOT true. Scam. Trash. BS. Garbage. 1 star is too much. What a total waste.
Vico Home vs Vico Nature
Since the change, I have had lagging on live video, the UI is atrocious, the AI isn’t intelligent nor is it learning. It’s a technical problem child with cyber ADHD. My biggest concern is cost. Are we to be paying for both Vico Home Gen2 AND Vico Nature, or do we cancel Vico Home? A bit of clarity is needed. BTW, my neighborhood squirrel, whom I’ve named “Cousin Eddie, the Freeloader” is going through an identity crisis, due to being constantly misidentified as every known eastern seaboard avian species. Please add a squirrel identification to this app. Thank you for your time.

Bird feeder

Garbage Product
This will notify you if a bird farts, but will not notify you if there’s actual movement. In addition, it will not connect. Constant restarting, constant charging, and constant disappointment. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere!
Glitchy
We had to switch to this app from VicoHome and have had nothing but issues. Now it’s a constant “sign in”, which we do, and it just goes back again and again to sign in. It also doesn’t show you what recorded when the app is glitching. Very frustrating to lose so much data because they can’t get the app right. Ps. The only way to resolve the log in issue is to delete the whole app and start over. Definitely go with some other company if you can!
Live feed
For some reason I can’t connect to my live feed-it just sits and spins. It used to work… I checked my internet connection and rebooted - nothing works. Also, it is sad that I can’t see videos without paying. With the old app I could. Seems to be going backwards.

No access to videos
I loved this feeder when I got it. I could see and hear the birds in the 10 second videos and that was great! Now the free tier apparently only includes photos and no access to videos unless you wanna pay the full fee. I don't need all the other bells and whistles included in the membership, I just want to be able to watch the 10 seconds that was recorded like I previously could.

It seems fine, early days of course. Slightly fiddly to set up. It was saying poor WiFi connection but it always stayed connected. There’s just been an update and the “poor” connection alarm has disappeared, coincidence?
Update app
With the new app update the white light does not come on anymore at night been trying to figure it out with the help support team but they don’t have a clue they are now asking for my Amazon order information and I have given them the model number I think that should have been enough. I really think that they don’t know what the problem is????
Great Changes!
It’s a really nice upgrade from the VicoHome app for bird feeders specifically. It’s great that it is more specialized for bird cameras. The addition of the Alarm / Squirrel Alarm on the live view is fantastic.
Impossible to share
I have been using Vico Nature for over one year. I wanted to share my wonderful experience with someone else. Sounds easy but next to impossible. Very disappointed
