What people like
- Blocks distracting apps until reading done
- Helps build a daily habit
- Great concept to reduce doomscrolling
What they complain about
- Price is too high for many
- No free trial before payment
- Limited Bible translations available
- Does not read Bible aloud
Love this app!
I look forward everyday to reading Gods word.
Horrible Paywall
Calling it a donation yet you have to pay to use it… It’s by definition no longer a donation. $10 weekly or $60 annually. There should at least be a free trial and it shouldn’t be called a donation. Jesus would flip a table and delete this app. Some righteous anger here
Add a dictionary link and concordance
This is a great app. I would love to be able to look up words by highlighting or tapping them. Also it would be great to add a bible concordance to reference. Keep up the great work!!
Expensive
Absolutely fantastic idea and has helped me out, however the subscription price is just to pricey for me. Kind of wish there was a free trial option or refund based on amount of use.
Great idea,
Please could you make it work with screen reader? Thanks
Bible reading discipline
Just started using this app a few days ago and so far I really appreciate the simple help of putting the devotion and Bible reading first in the morning before I open up my phone. The app asked you to set a timer for the length of time you want to read for that day. When my timer goes off, I end up reading longer and so I recognize that getting STARTED on a daily reading was the biggest challenge and once I was reading the Bible, I didn't want to stop.
I like the idea.. but
I really like the idea of this app. I downloaded it just before lunch. I went to make my lunch and then I was gonna sit down and read. I didn’t swipe out of the app it just my phone turned off. And I didn’t think anything about it. Until I got notified that I had spent my 15 minutes reading the Bible and all my apps were unlocked. At this point I hadn’t done ANY reading in the Bible, which is unfortunate. I will go back and do my reading, of course, but this seems like a major flaw. Three stars because I like the idea, but upon the very first interaction with the app it seems like the very thing that it’s supposed to stop didn’t work. Update: Continued to get more frustrated with app. Upon install you have to pay for a year upfront; there is no try it for a week or anything like that. I am deleting the app. I don’t like it and now I’ve paid for a year. It’s also not monetized through the App Store so a credit card is required.
Great focus
Really amazing way to stay focused, only thing is I pray that there will be different reading versions because the ones on there I am not too familiar with. I also think there should be a trial even if it’s for three days because paying for something you’re not sure how it works yet can put some pressure at first. But it is still good.
Price
I think this concept is a great idea but unfortunately for me the price is just too extreme right now as I wanted to start it right this moment I was unable to because I can’t afford a $60 charge or an outrageous $10 a week I think that a free trial would be something that would benefit this idea because if I had had a few weeks to try it out, I may have been able to put the money aside to utilize it if I felt it was benefiting me, but because that’s not an option I’m not able to do that so hoping this review will reach the people it needs to so that this app can reach the people it needs to.
Why no free trial??
I’d like to try before spending, why no free trial.
Great way to be honest and get closer to God!
Awesome app, helps get in the word before I do anything else
Paywall
Lengthy setup process and paywall before using app.
Very helpful, would prefer more versions
Love the idea of reading the Scriptures before opening social media. However, would prefer if there were more Bible versions to read, like NIV, NLT, ESV, AMP and NKJV.
Too expensive
So I really want to use this app, but in my currency the weekly donation costs the price of a 4 person dinner. I just can't afford that. Even the yearly donation cost a lot for one shot... could you not make a free trial or perhaps have an option where its cheaper. Make it a bit more accessible to people in countries where the currency is so weak
Religious options
Denominations are limited and exclude evangelical or Pentecostal which aren’t small movements.
God Bless you both!!
This is a great way too encourage us to get into the Word more❣️and fill our minds with His words 😊 Thank you so much
paywall… like every app.
it’s $10 a week?!? or $60 upfront per the year! literally every app is charging a subscription fee now. this is a subscription not a donation. you want me to rate the app 5 stars before i even get to use it and $60 right away. huh?
French and other languages
Other languages of bibles would be nice! But otherwise, very good idea to make people come closer to God every day.
Need more Bible versions
NIV, ESV are just a couple of examples
Practice practice practice
Get up every morning and read scripture until it becomes a natural thing to do.
Needing more than what is provided
The app is ok but it could be improved by giving an option of reading or listening to the Bible being read. Also it could be improved by having a brief devotional or exploration of the chapter that was read. Currently the app only provides a lock feature until read but nothing more to create interest or interaction with the app which makes it boring. There is nothing to make me want to go to the app. I did pay for a year subscription but now contemplating a request for my money back. I prefer “Holy Bible” it’s way better and free.
Love where this is going
I do wish I could see which parts of the Bible I’ve already read with the app so I could see my progress.
Multi Language, and multi lock
If the app can have multiple languages, and the possibilities to lock apps multiple times
Super helpful
Love it!
Scummy Miss-marketing
This is a paid app. That would be fine, but it's marketed as 100% paid by donations on the same screen that's a literal paywall. What irks me is that it uses Christian responsibility as a marketing method and then misswords it for a profit. If you call this your 'mission', be transparent that you need the financial support to do it well. That's much different from using the things of God intentionally miss-spoken to get the things of the world, which I presume God isn't too pleased with
Great app. Two problems.
The app works great, but can improve. The WEB translation is missing lines in the psalms. Psalms 100 and 101 is where I noticed it. Please fix this. The appeal to subscribe to support with donations feels manipulative. You have to completely shut down the app and open it again to skip it, and the options for donation amounts are steep. I believe some will just delete the app before discovering the workaround and miss out on the blessing of this app. Also, if you offer lower tiers for donations, I’m sure more people would donate. Overall a very good app.
Cool
You don’t really have to read the word you could just open the app and wait until the time runs out but it’s a great initiative
Truly helps
This has helped me stay on track with my morning reading each day and I’m very grateful. Thank you.
Is this a scam?!
I just downloaded the app and paid the year membership and can’t get past the screen where you select the apps you want to block. It keeps taking me back to the beginning without saving anything. Is this a scam?!
Mr Simz
A reading should match the the length of time selected, if I choose a 15 minute timer, I should also be provided with a 15 min reading content. Otherwise I love the app.
Bonne app, mais en anglais seulement
J’adore l’idée, et ça fonctionne bien, mais j’aurais aimé pouvoir lire la Bible en français.
Bible Scroll
I love this app.! I have other apps that I can read the Bible on but this app is better because I have set this up that I need to read the Bible before I can open other secular apps. I love that - Bible first! I desire to hear from God first before anything else.
Bible
Disappointed. I wish it would read the Bible out loud.
Great but
Love this idea, it just didn’t have a translation I use. If it had NLT or NASB2020 I would use it.
Bible versions
This is a great app to curb doomscrolling. It would be helpful if you could choose the part of the Bible you want to read instead of random chapters popping up. More Bible versions to choose from would be great. I thought there might be Bible plans.
Seek first
This app is helping live out a rule of life to seek the kingdom first before consuming. Thanks.
Too expensive!
This is a absolutely great idea if there wasn’t a paywall to access the app. I cant even see what im paying for because there’s no free trial etc. This app will flourish if it was more affordable.
Amazing app
Just wish it had more translations
Expand bible version options please
Would love a NKJV,otherwise loving the opportunity and idea behind creating a good habit
Remarkable
Blocking unimportant apps at the beginning of the day and instead reading passages from the Bible is something I should have been doing a long time ago. Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring Provers 27:1
Disappointing
I support the mission of this app and encourage the creators to keep working on it, but I have serious issues with the current execution. Trying to get the app to function properly with other apps is an issue. Customer support is none existent. And the cost for the service provided is poor.
Brilliant idea
Good way to build a habit and I enjoy the daily readings. Things to improve: the quote of the day is in a smaller font, light grey italics making it hard to read for anyone over 40! Also if screen time increases too much it should prompt user if they want another reading
Functionality
It’s a great concept but I wish it didn’t unlock all of my apps at once. I wish I had the option to unlock them piece by piece. Also, once my screen time limit has been reached and I go past it that it reactive Bible Scroll. But still here for the amazing concept!
