What people like
- Actually cuts down on doomscrolling time
- Keeps you from getting distracted easily
- Helpful for removing ads on Instagram
What they complain about
- Does not block reels in native apps
- Stories and posting features often break
- Many useful features are paywalled
- Texting in DMs is annoying to use
Great app
All good
Terrible
This app works terribly and cuts off many features. It is also terribly made and I would recommend getting a different app
.
L’appli est vraiment cool !!! Je vous conseille !!
Ok but glitchy
I know it’s not possible for them to block reels and stuff in the main apps, but it’s a bit annoying to use, especially with facebook which works about 50% of the time. Also annoying that insta stories basically don’t work and you can’t access many features like private stories without undoing the shortcut and logging in on the main app which kinda defeats the purpose. i’ve gotten lazier with switching back too so i’ve noticed im just using the main instagram app again after all.
Dms
Autoscrolls up when trying to type dms and therefor you cant see what you are typing. its super annoying
Great for web version
I use it to block the brain dead YouTube shorts I’ll catch myself watching. This app has fixed my attention deficit without making me quit YouTube cold turkey.
Everything is subscription locked
The entire reason I got this app was to be able to text my friends and watch things they have sent me without having to worry about getting distracted, but that simple feature is subscription locked. Not to mention you can’t block YouTube shorts, X feed, Insta feed, TikTok, literally everything you would get this app for. If they weren’t so greedy this would instantly be a five star
Great and good intentions
Great idea however alot of features are blocked and need to pay premium to access it. However I see the intention behind it and it really has functions that discourage social media usage and doom scrolling. Support!
Doesn’t work on apps
Doesn’t work on apps. Requires lots of user effort to get working.
well enough
The app usually doesn’t work as it promises, rather it makes social media apps so clunky that I don’t want to use them anymore. So… the app IS working, just not as it claims it will.
amazing app
works great perfect.
worthless
costs money to keep reels in dms. so useless. i am ending it.
Wonderful app
I haven’t had this app long at all, but so far I love it. I am using the free version and the reel blocking feature has been incredibly valuable. I would definitely recommend to users wanting to limit scrolling time, or also simply to remove ads on Instagram. To the app developers… I think there may be a small bug with the posting aspect. When I try to post, it sends me to my camera roll like normal, but when I try to upload it says there has been an error. Is there a way to fix this? This is my only issue currently. Overall great app and will continue to use.
Better than Socialite
Having a toggle for app rerouting would be nice and being able to download videos on Instagram would also be ideal, although you can create a toggle with focuses in the Shortcuts app yourself ! Works perfectly for me and feels much better to use than Socialite. The best shorts blocker out there for iOS currently
Estafa
Luego de pagar te avisan que no pueden bloquear funciones de aplicaciones descargadas.
Pretty good!
It has kept me out of instagram and kept me connected. However since I started using this app I can't check my notifications without the app, not even from the browsers, anyone knows a solution?
Scrollguard
Moc fajn apka, ale bohužel vůbec nejdou postovat stories.
This is what finally worked for me
First app or service I tried that actually worked and reduced scrolling. Being able to still view reels from DMs and browse IG without getting bombarded does the trick. Recommend
Scroll Guard
Not good
Great substitute for the YouTube app
This app is more of a web browser than anything else, but it works! By running YouTube through the app I’ve managed to spend wayyyy less time scrolling which has been phenomenal. Gets rid of pesky shorts and prevents me from doomscrolling. I do wish it was easier to navigate the site and that it saved my video progress though since I don’t want to log in through this app.
No funciona
Hola. En iPhone 13 quise bloquear los reels y me siguen apareciendo desde la app
Very reliable
Works
Just opens a browser inside the app, doesn’t actually change the native apps
As title, I understand there are limits to what the app can do but it should have been advertised it doesn’t actually alter the app itself, it just suggests that you should only access the apps through scroll guard. Then when you do access them it just opens the website ie Instagram.com and forces you to login every time. Could not imagine paying for this.
effective but deleted in 2 days
it worked well and i didn’t scroll instagram for 2 days except i wanted to post on my story and it didn’t work so i had to delete it
Perfect
Exactly what I needed thank you 🙏
Try’s to steal your account
I logged in to instagram using the app and I then got an alert someone signed into my account on an iPhone in Kent. Immediately uninstalled the app, don’t trust it.
Not quite what I thought it would be
This app is just a browser extension. Don’t get me wrong, it is nice that they found a workaround for blocking reels on iPhones, and it does work great on the website versions of YT and IG. However, it does not have any effect on the native apps, which is what I really want. I do not like using the mobile website versions of those apps, and I know I will stray back to using the native apps after a while, so this just isn’t effective for me. Also, it only works with Safari, which is not the browser I use anyway. TLDR: It technically works, but isn’t ideal.
Works well. Blocks Reels and Shorts
Works perfectly on iPhone. It hides the reels and blocks shorts. You can also setup automations to keep the main app for notifications.
No es viable.
Es un total no para mí
Works for me!
Already feeling less affected by the doomscrolling a week in. My instagram screen time went down to 30 to 1hr, which is my goal. As somebody working in social media, I can’t completely avoid it, but at least I don’t waste time. There are minor issues like the interface is less responsive and I noticed you can’t zoom in on pictures with your fingers for example, but those are not deal breakers and might even be a good thing that makes the app less appealing to keep coming back to. I’ve had a similar idea for a long time, but couldn’t figure out how to implement on iPhone, so major thank you to the developers.
Doesn’t work
This product simply doesn’t work. Reels disappeared for maybe 5 minutes and then showed right back up in the app. Tried to readd the new Insta to my Home Screen multiple times and the same thing showed.
Impressive, looking for more app support!
This is a fantastic tool for blocking reels/shorts/anything designed to keep you scrolling. I can’t wait for more app support: Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.
Only a browser extension
The only reason I would want this is if it prevented reels in the native app
