Enjoyable
I do enjoy having Christian views of news. So much less stress. And worth listening to the news now. Thank you πππ»π₯°
Iβm new.
First impression is positive. Reserving a fifth star that might come later.
It WAS good. Not so much now.
I originally downloaded because I thought itβd be nice to get some bias-free news with a Christian view and biblical verses that paired with it. Earning acorns to win prizes was a cute and fun idea too. I liked the prayers as an addition, though I usually just do my own. Then they added the mini games, with time limits to beat, to get on a leaderboard and if you donβt complete the games too, you donβt get your acorns. Which made getting an acorn stressful. Now theyβve updated it and added more games you have to complete and just like Duolingo, theyβve added a βdaily streakβ (again, something else to add stress to your already very busy week). Iβm not looking to compete with others or to read news every single day and play games every day. (This forces more screen time, something we all need less of) They used to do news updates on Monday/Wednesday/Friday. That was nicer. Though thereβs still basic news stress, it was far less this way. Acorns were a lot lower before and itβs too bad I didnβt cash them out before the update. A mug went from 35 to 250 acorns, and the box went from 250 acorns to 2,500. So the acorn βfunβ is now completely out for me. You already have to pay to get the extra benefits, which is fine, a site takes maintenance. I get that. This app is probably going to become like every other app now though, so itβs not really worth it for the news when I can just get it from Google without all of the extra junk or stress, and I can just look up verses that match the headlines Iβm actually interested in.
Amazing app!!!!
A great combination of scripture and how it applies to βwhat is going on today.β The word βwowβ isnβt enough to say how good it is!
Short and sweet
I appreciate getting a shorter report with the option of reading more, plus a Bible passage with a centering prayer. God bless you for your efforts and inspiration.
Not the Best
I had a lot of hope for this app. I wanted to find a Christian based, unbiased news source and when I saw this I thought I hit the jackpot. At this time, the amount of news stories is very limited and if Iβm being honest, mostly uninteresting. Thereβs no search bar either. I do like the bits of Christian articles but at this time it does not serve as a good news source and will be uninstalling :(
Concise and prayerful
I love how concise the news is on pour over and I love how it refers me to bscripture on how to pray for the news.
Love it
Truly a great app and company! So glad to have access to news but also encouragement through that. My only qualm with the app is the rewards system. Itβs nice to offer free items and swag but feel like there isnβt a very good way of obtaining points. I know the main source is the referrals, but feel like should be able to obtain a point each day there is a newsletter and between 5-10 points weekly.
Summary of News with prayer
Staff will clearly describe news and offer prayer for listeners to join in asking our Heavenly Father to bring about His will in current events.
Great
Awesome news and awesome descriptions. Really is just stating the facts! I do agree that they should try to continue to cover more stories and maybe add a search bar so you can find coverage on specific topics!! Otherwise, itβs going great so far!
Changing the Game
The Pour Over isnβt about telling you who is right and wrong in the news. It takes a βjust the factsβ perspective and then points you back to Jesus. It helps me keep the right perspective and stay informed without doomscrolling.
Biblical perspective
News and information based on Biblical views. Fantastic!
Great App
Iβm really enjoying reading the news which is a first for me! I appreciate the Bible verses and sense of levity and peace about the news. Thank you! Would highly recommend!
There is no such thing as a liberal Christian
I appreciate this news channel yet the advertising for βnot liberal not conservativeβ is strange. Jesus knew nothing of acceptance of abortion and the sexual revolution, neither would he have accepted any of it. You cannot be a follower of Christ while openly affirming liberal politics in modern day America. Bad advertising on the companyβs part.
A magnificent balancing act
This app is great because it helps me stay current on big events, while preventing me from feeling bogged down by things happening around the globe.
Peace
I live that i know this is written with a biblical lens and all that i need to know is in these words. I just want the facts and a biblical perspective and this is where i get it.
