I only give it 4 cause I haven’t made the commitment. The daily reminders help.
Good or a scam?
The program and all it offers really is quite good, but if you need help with your account billing and membership, God help you because Customer Support won’t. I don’t think Pain Academy is a scam because there really is a lot of useful information but I cannot get assistance with my over billing so I wonder. **Update based on PA response: I have reached out to support three times and have not once received any acknowledgment. Their response to my review seems as if they didn’t even read it. **
Good content, frustrating app
The content in here is great. The app is overly complex and hard to navigate. The deliberate limitations on accessing content is also frustrating. For example, simple things like being able to search for a routine would make a dramatic improvement, rather than me clicking around trying to find something I did a few days ago. I used to recommend the web based version to others but have been reluctant to refer people to the app because of the UX/UI.

As a massage therapist of 25+ years, I am always looking to introduce my clients to “active” Somatic style therapy to help bring balance to the body in between massage appointments. The clients who take this seriously heal faster, move better & just feel better for longer. Your approach is compassionate, kind & allows everyone to feel deeper into the practice with these added lessons & meditations before each round. Vinny, you are an amazing teacher, allowing us to show up without the guilt or shame to be present in the moment. And thats really half the battle! Your constant reminders that working from ground zero is OK, that we all have to start somewhere, allowing us to show up, just as we are, no expectations, only exploration, & that, is a game changer. Why can’t I read any reviews that show pros and cons?
I see some one star reviews but I can’t read any. Maybe folks just clicked the star and gave no info? I like Pain Academy but have mixed feelings. I’ll update review if things get better for me. I really dislike Ai, so that’s one thing I take issue with. The other is I don’t feel this program is suited for my hyper mobility and my injuries. I think one has to be really careful with any type of exercise program because one can hurt oneself for real. I also feel like the meditations are like marketing the program and trying to convince folks to continue rather than just resetting the nervous systems. These are just my opinions. YMMV.

The exercises are great I just wish it wasn’t so expensive. It’d be nice for a resource for the thousands of people in pain to be more affordable.
WOW!!!!
This man built an INCREDIBLE app that takes care of your body… but that’s almost the Trojan horse. Because the truth of this app is this: Vinnie changes your life. You do not connect with your body without awareness, and you do not shift out of pain without connecting to your body. And awareness in your life demands real change. He helps you understand how seemingly unrelated things in your life can contribute to your pain cycle. Pair that with neuroscience and his world-class exercise science education, and you begin to understand how he has helped thousands of people get out of pain. The app and the man are BRILLIANT.
Lots of problems
The app was released unfinished and with lots of problems. At the same time, the website (which was quite good) was closed down for people who wanted to continue with a certain program for example. The app makes it difficult to find the exercises.
Mixed Thoughts
The founder of Vinnie, no doubt knows his stuff. I think the app has a lot of potential however, my experience personally hasn’t been 100% satisfactory. My rating would definitely be higher if I wasn’t dealing with a number of glitches. The routines themselves seem very beneficial and no doubt with time will help me to move better and be stronger. However, I don’t feel like the app is working as intended or as I feel like it is advertised to do.

I have been doing this for a little bit over a year and a half. The amount of reduced back and hip pain is astounding.
Best body, mind, nervous system program
Pain Academy has been a game changer for me. I love working out but my 53 year-old body kept lighting up old injuries. This program has reset my nervous system and healed in injuries I didn’t think were ever going to heal. I see my chiropractor once a month and every time he says whatever you’re doing keep doing it. I am 10 months into the program and honestly do not do it every day although I wish I did and I’m still getting great results. I highly recommend the weekly live calls with Vinny. I always get gain some new information and a sense of I can do this.

For 17 years after a car accident I tried it all, orthopedic surgeon, PT, chiro, massage, acupuncture, and more. Pain Academy changed everything! The movements, the thought processes and the education; the whole package together in one place is a game changer.
Life changing
I lost my entire life to a lower back injury that just wouldn’t heal. I became angry, bitter, and frustrated. Countless doctor visits, PT, MRIs, injections, tests did nothing for me. I just could not escape the cycle. I went a year without being able to walk more than 2 minutes. Couldn’t sit in a car, couldn’t bend over 1 inch. I couldn’t workout. I couldn’t sleep. Couldn’t do chores. Couldn’t grocery shop. Nothing. Age 29, I was losing my mind. Im now 150 days into Pain Academy and living a mostly normal life again. The 31 day mindset course was the catalyst. It changes the way you relate to pain and gives your nervous system the chance to calm down and begin allowing movement again. The exercises are so gentle and relaxing and allow you to stack wins every day. Im tearing up just writing this. Please I beg of you, give this a chance if nothing else has worked for you. This is the real deal. It’s expensive at ~$50 a month, but so worth it. Genuinely the best money Ive every spent. Thank you Vinny!
