I love this app, I love the patron saint prayer and guardian angel and Theotokos prayer added in the Full rule and the patron saint feature and the parish feature, shame that you need the subscription to access majority of the content and change patron saint

An unfortunate bug or issue with some of the streak tracking…🙏☦️
I have been enjoying and appreciate the blessings of this Orthodox resource for supplementing my daily readings in the OSB, and beyond. However, even though there have been multiple times I’ve used the app consistently daily for 10-14+ days, the opening score keeping of “my daily streak” has been incorrect several times. It’s honestly annoying because I’m not using or reading the sources in the app as my ONLY source or guide to practice my daily Orthodox faith prayer rule, reading of Holy Scripture, etc. I don’t want or need a daily tracking system of streaks or judgments of “oh, you missed a day, but in grace, you can begin again “. I’m only concerned with pleasing and honoring GOD with my daily prayers, fasting, reading/learning from Holy Resources, thus I find the score keeping & “grace given” coming from an app a bit distracting and inappropriate. I do understand the intention is most likely to encourage users to focus on establishing good, consistent faith habits. I just personally feel the way this is tracked & especially the multiple numbers of times it’s actually been INCORRECT, could annoy or upset other users to the point of deleting the app. I hope & pray 🙏 it would not affect users negatively to the point of giving up the pursuit of daily faith pursuit of prayers, fasting and study ☦️🙏

I love this app. It’s simple to use. It helps me to keep on track with my daily prayer rule and the church calendar. The only thing I have been experiencing an issue with is the prayer portion, I use this app on the morning and it always shows evening prayers.

Another AI generated app made in the name of God for the love of money. Don’t support this blasphemy. Bugs, expensive, hard to use, and way too busy. Please don’t rip others off in the name of Orthodoxy.

It’s good but for some reason you can’t change the font size to a smaller size because during the daily verse, reflection etc…, and in the overall app in general either I can’t finish reading it or I can’t scroll down, the content and features are decent but some feel unusable due to not being able read all of them. Please fix this via font size changeability or something else please

Incredible App
This app is truly incredible. The more I dive into it, the more I see the value. It is not just a bible, in fact the bible to me is the least of the features that I am enjoying. It helps with all around education, prayer, fasting reminders, traditions, learning about the saints, holding yourself accountable, etc… HIGHLY RECOMMEND for all Orthodox Christian’s especially for beginners like myself. Has helped teach me so much. You can even connect it to your Parrish and if your Parrish uses the app the Priest can submit info and updates about your Parrish right onto the app. The free version is perfect, but I ended up purchasing the year subscription just because I wanted to support the app and if I ran into anything that was a paid feature, wanted full access. But the free version is perfect itself.

On the cusp of something invaluable
Christ is risen, and thank you for reading my review. I’ve been using Athon almost every day, completing the full six daily activities, for about 130 days. Even as a free user, Athon has been hugely supportive for my faith and my journey from being an inquirer when I first downloaded it. In spite of this, the recent update adding the Theosis tracker, the chapel, profiles, and badges had me skeptical of Athon’s direction (Although I eventually warmed up to the chapel). The recent update, however, has restored my faith that the development team behind the app are making a wholehearted and active effort towards manifesting the fullness of Orthodoxy in their app. The particular standout feature of the update was the traditional mode. Perhaps Athon’s biggest criticism was its use of AI art for UI: the traditional mode replaces it all with either photos or traditional icons. Considering the developers’ previous statement that icons were hard to implement into UI, the change is commendable and demonstrates the zeal for Orthodoxy behind the app. Other standout features include the virtual prayer rope, prayer book, and collections of Orthodox resources. That being said, the app is by no means perfect, and below I rank a few suggestions based on how valuable I think they are to Athon’s improvement: 1. Description of sources - some of Athon’s core features, like the calendar which informs the fasting and daily saints, the reflection on the daily verse, the descriptions of the lives of saints, etc are not explicitly sourced from canonical sources. I understand that Athon is an app for all Orthodox and doesn’t want to be involved in jurisdictional issues, but knowing that its information is sourced from proper, canonical teaching would confirm the app’s trustworthiness. 2. The Theosis tracker/gamification - this had always been a questionable addition to me as Theosis cannot be tracked, and its reliance upon measuring spiritual growth by streaks (as well as achievements for certain things like 100 total prayers) seems to be more about encouraging app logins rather than communion with Christ. It seems likely that the tracker is a figurative and motivational tool rather than a literal indicator of Theosis, but it would be worth explicitly outlining this in some sort of disclaimer. 3. An inquirer’s section - In our digital world people are increasingly encountering Orthodoxy online; considering Athon’s presence on social media, downloading it seems like the next step for an inquirer. As such, I think it would be useful to compile the resources that Athon already has - a core doctrine handbook, lists of Orthodox books and films, a parish tracker, etc (though these would probably need to be more accessible, newcomer-friendly versions of these features) - into a tailored section that is shown to you, for example, when you first install the app, so that the transition from inquiry into catechesis, an often daunting movement, can seem much more manageable for those interested. 4. Premium Athon - The price for and features locked behind premium Athon have never really bothered me, but some features like the more detailed descriptions of saintly lives being locked behind this is unfortunate but understandable. A possible solution could be to provide the section on the daily saints for free but only for that day - this wouldn’t do much to hurt the product but would allow access to, for example, a written prayer to the saint, which would further the original purpose of connecting with saints further. Linked to point 2, I think it purchasing it would be much more reasonable if these descriptions were known to be canonical. The core value of the premium subscription, for me at least, is being able to have access to the life of any saint I could want, but without proper knowledge of the authenticity of the descriptions it’s difficult to buy into. 5. The chatbot - I haven’t used it many times myself because it is paywalled, but I think it would be useful upon opening it for there to be a disclaimer that the AI could be wrong and a priest should always be consulted. Overall, my issues with the app largely boil down to clarity. Apart from that, I can wholeheartedly recommend the app to any Orthodox Christian or inquirer and I’m looking forward to Athon’s future.
Nice but Bible is unusable
This is a nice app but the Bible is buggy and severely lacking. Passages are missing. Sometimes the audio reads text that you can’t see. The audio is also weird because it takes long pauses at random points in the reading. No playback controls either—just play and pause. The biggest issue for me is that the scheduled prayers are not synchronized throughout the app. The prayer notifications often don’t open the correct prayer for the time of day, and this often doesn’t match the prayer showing in the home screen.
I so want to like this app…
A strange glitch where the screen is always pushed to the left, off screen, while the main screen’s edge seems to be on the left edge. Fix this and whatever else might need fixing and I’ll be glad to give it another go.

Needs More Structure
The app is beautiful and, overall, well designed for cultivating a practice of faith. However, the daily prayers section needs more structure. I like that it will offer you *a* morning prayer in the morning, but which morning prayer you see will vary (seemingly at random), even at the same time of day. I know this is meant to encourage customization of a prayer rule from the user and I have been an Eastern Christian long enough to know what is typically said at different times of day, but this customization could be confusing or overwhelming to a new convert or inquirer. I think it would be better to have more structure as the default with customization options.
Best Orthodox Prayer App
Love the reminders to pray and readings of the day. This app has a lot of potential wish I had it when I was a catechumen.
Comprehensive
I like that this app is comprehensive. Everything is neatly included in a straightforward way to execute. The reflections are great. I knocked off one star because so much stuff is available only with purchase, i.e. any bible books past Genesis,and studies,ability to ask questions. One other thing bothers me…the morning (evening) prayers are not consistently the same each day.

Upon Upgrading
I had bought the premium version before I really got to know the app - I realized a LOT of the app is Ai generated, and I’m all for modern technology- but nothing felt real. The Psalm study program seemed lazy and didn’t even have a Bible verse. I see the potential with the app - but using a Bible like the NIV just to read scripture? And maybe have a dedicated priest, group of deacons, or Catechumens to lead Bible Studies?

I understand being a small developing team is difficult but I would much rather you use ACTUAL icons and holy art work instead of the blasphemous creations of AI. Do you not think depictions of Christ should be done by human hand? I think some of the subscription prices are somewhat high but otherwise it's a good app I just would really appreciate some respect with the art you're using.

I never wrote app reviews really before but wow. As a Christian stepping into the orthodox faith, this app is insanely useful. It’s beautiful, it’s wonderful. The constant updates making it prettier and more useful is such a blessing. The lack of hunger for money but freely giving to help Christians. God be with you.

The updates just keep making the app more and more useful and appealing. Love the addition of the Psalter and of the preparation for confession. Only correction I might bring up is when you press the play button on the Psalter reading, it skips ahead one verse too far as it’s reading it to you. I don’t know if there’s a way to fix that or not but wanted to bring to your attention. Glory to God for all things! ☦️
