Whale Framely reviews
4.8 out of 5, based on 1,590 reviews.
What people like
- It keeps your whole busy family organized in one place
- The physical calendar looks great with photos and nice design
- It is a cheaper option without annoying subscription fees
What they complain about
- You can't see other family members' events on the phone
- The app crashes constantly and forces you to reinstall it
- Syncing Google or Apple calendars often breaks or loses colors
- Reminder times are buggy and alert way too early or late
Great Setup
We bought this calendar as a lower cost option without the subscription and so far (first day) has been excellent and we are excited.
No basic syncing
You can’t even see your family’s events on the phone app, only the calendar on the wall. You can only see those you create in the app. One of the stupidest products I’ve ever purchased - the main function is to share a calendar. What a joke
Great option!
This has been a great addition to our family. I wish color codes from google calendar would sync.
Whale Framely Calendar
It can be a little difficult to use.
Good app, but needs better apple integration
App is fairly easy to use, however; it would be nice if the Apple calendar colour coding copied across to the calendar. I have 8 calendars linked to my Apple calendar app, each assigned a different colour, which makes it easier to distinguish the difference between items. When integrating with the app (and therefore device) everything is the one colour, which makes things more confusing, especially when wanting to quickly glance at what’s happening that day.
First day
Going good so far.
problème
l'application ne cesse de se fermer seul! inccapable de l'ouvrir sans la supprimer et la remettre
Categories
I’d like to be able to assign a different color for each event category
Sync Issues
Can’t get Google sync to work. I got Apple to sync once but when I add an event on my calendar on my phone it doesn’t show up on the app event though it says 2-way sync is on
To many bugs
The app works great apart from bugs in reminder times and my web subscribed calendars going missing. I set up reminders to alert 15 mins before meetings yet it will alert 30 mins before. I have checked both the app and the calendar it is coming from and both are set to 15 mins. All day events are alerting 1 day before the event yet it set to day of event. I have subscribed to web calendars on one day only to have them disappear the next. Fix the bugs and it would be a great app. Also give us customisation or add tasks to the menu alongside Events & Lists.
Smooth
Good performance, versatile function and make my memories alive
Love our Calendar
This is a great tool for organising a busy family. Only down side is if you use the points in tasks you can’t reset the count.. it’s a pain
App keeps crashing
The app keeps crashing and I’m not able to open the app. I have to delete it and then reinstall it again to be able to get into it. This happens when I change something like allowed my phone to access photos so I can add them to the app or syncing a calendar
Great app but...
It would be nice if I could set the same task for multiple people and who ever completes it first gets it for the day.
Just got
Love it
Simple to use
Easy to use! Only issue was some bug trying to add photos from iPhone album to app. Loading images from app is perfectly fine. Maybe this will be fixed soon.
Not all calendars supported
Have used calendar on iPhone for years have everything synced to it and the app won’t sync multiple calendars under the right accounts, it just syncs to the one user and you can’t edit them on the calendar itself or in the whale app.
Minimal instructions
Difficult to connect photos and there is nothing in the “minimal instructions” book about photos.
This is so helpful love this app
U should get this app it is so helpful
Great for the cost!
Great app that keeps improving with new features based on recommendations. Does lag a little bit and drops out with internet connection/the app sometimes logs out. Probably just a bug that will get fixed
Cannot see other family members in app
Everything is fine with the actual calendar, but the major problem is I cannot see what other family members are doing on the app. My wife and I have tried everything but cannot fix it. I wrote an email but haven’t had a reply. Is this a fixable use if it is happy to give 5 stars, if not I think I’ll return it.
Missing Basic Functions
Only 3 stars because the app doesn’t allow you to assign events to different family members. Just the person creating the event on the app has it always assigned to them. You can on the digital calendar, but not on the app. To make this useful you need to be able to do this in the app, because you need to create events for other family members when you are not at home. The Whale Framely app is ok, it’s nearly better than Skylight except for this one big missing function.
Really
Good
Great Calendat
It takes a little time to set it up and get the hang of it, but once you do it works great
Appe does not sync calendars correctly
So I have a calendar I use for when work and my wife for every day other things that we share with each other. We synced my work through my app and hers through her app however on the device they sync fine but in the app she can't see my schedule and I can't see hers. This doesn't help with planning appointment and other kids activities. Everything else looks nice on the device but this isn't very convenient. We tried to set up the work calendar through ios calendar but then they all just show the same colour
Good App
This a pretty good app. Simple enough for the grandparents who help look after the kids to use. Would be so much better if you could bulk add new members to existing events I’ve just spent an hour adding another member event by event. The hope was that this would save time but it’s creating a bit more work to set up.
May
So helpful for wedding planning and school
iPhone App / Widget Request
Is there any way you could create an iPhone Widget to show my families movements? Currently only shows mine, and I have to go into the calendar and sort… there must be an easier way? Open to suggestions!
No photo gallery
Disappointed that there’s no photo gallery option despite the help/FAQs says it should be there when clicking “more” - nothing.
So far, so good!
Just put this up in our new house so we could sync all things in one place instead of using dry erase board calendars, a menu board, sticky notes, and chore charts. Love it so much being in one place - bonus that it shows photos and sync’s to my husband and I’s phones!
One small limitation
Love everything about this except that when I connect my Google Calendar, it doesn’t keep the color coded events and made it all one color. I found a way around it but was a bit of a headache. Now that it’s done though, this is amazing.
1000/10
I love it !
Mostly good
I would like for there to be a task template added to the app. I hate having to recreate tasks every time I want to assign them, but they aren’t regular recurrences so I can’t set it up that way. Please please please fix this!
Promise, but missing critical feature
Update: Much better switching from 2 stars to 5 stars! Much more intuitive and all complaints from previous review addressed. This app even when you share device with partners/spouses and other members you can’t see their events in the phone, only the events you create…. All the events merge onto the calendar as expected… but why not merge all events on the phone, too??? This is a must-have feature.
Good app
So far so good! Just opened today and it’s working pretty well! I like all the features especially the lists
