this is a predatory app that scams Catholics, do not pay for it.
Awesome! But bug fixes?
Awesome app!! Very useful for sorting through my religious trauma! 4 stars however, because while trying to type the screen flickers than starts jumping back to old messages & when I scroll down it just jumps back to old messages again then the screen bugs out. Once I close app & reopen its fine but its a bit annoying bc it keeps happening 2 mins into using it. Ive tried text settings on my phone itself, lowering them but that didnt do anything. I tried other settings but no fruit came. (I have a iPhone 16 pro & my software is fully updated if wondering) If possible please look into this bug! Also please add the ability to edit your text & the ability to “reroll” the ai’s response!! Those two features would make this app a 10/5!!
Text to speech issue
Audio stopped at 5:21 while listening to Pope Leo XIV’s first encyclical, and after restarting the app I couldn’t find my place again because of glitches. It would really help to add a text search feature so users can search phrases like “church and state” and continue where they left off. I’ve used Magisterium AI free for weeks without issues, but today after paying $3.99 for premium so I could listen instead of read, these problems started. I can’t see myself paying next month if the audio keeps glitching. Please fix 🙏
Love the convenience
Really enjoy the easy access to the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and the confidence in the accuracy of the teachings from the magisterium.
Not worth it, go somewhere else (for AI)
It is really only worth it if you utilize things like prayers or other resources that you can find elsewhere. If you wish to just personalize prayers/massals, etc or want to learn prayers in other languages and have everything in order, this app is undeniably good for that. However it falls completely short of giving full-context Catholic answers and citations. It will give you citations but won’t be very proper about it. If you want to use it for criticism for Catholic writing and stuff, good luck. You will apparently never make anything good enough-it is terribly overly critical. If you wish to use it for catechism citations just use the “Catholic chat” site which makes it way easier to understand depending on your level. It’s a free site so I have no reason to have a bias. Another thing is it isn’t even primarily for Catholics, you could literally be a Protestant/orthodox so it just brands itself while using another AI model…yea really not worth it.
Impressive
My first two questions were the two subjects this life-long senior Catholic could never get his head around: intercession of the saints and what appears to be Mary worship. Both answers were thoughtful, nuanced and insightful. They changed my thinking. When I have time I want to reduce the answers to useful paragraphs for evangelization conversations, especially with fallen-away Catholics. Four not five stars for smaller reasons: software doesn’t recognize me automatically as a paying customer. I realize this every time when I attempt to pin an answer and can’t because I’m not logged in. The app should know this. Secondly, want to see non-magisterial but very Catholic material added. Maybe as a designated second tier?
Language used in translation to Chinese
The terminology used in the translation is much like what Protestant would use, this is not Catholic as you claim. ChatGPT can do better, I’m sorry to say.

As a catechist and a student of the theology, I can rely on Magisterium AI to quickly find answers both in the classroom of life, the classroom of theology, and the classroom of the OCIA. When I want a Vatican document, I am only a couple of clicks away! Love this resource as a reliable research method.

Not impressed
This AI doesn’t know how to “think.” It’s not for the thinking Catholic. Every time you try and dive deeper on a topic the app just straw mans you and shoves the “correct” answer in your face. The demythologized interpretation of Genesis 6, for example. It doesn’t understand how Scripture uses language and images to communicate.

Ai
I am Enthusiastically cautious of Ai and have been looking up much from what I already know as a controlled test. So far I am impressed but not sure how long the bench marks and protocol will remain in place. It is important that the framework remain through, with and encompassing Catholic resources only. I fear the days may be limited when the Ai used will decide on its only what is Catholic and what is not allowing for slippery slopes when it comes to doctrine but for now, it is doing an amazing job as I have branched out into facets of the Faith I am not so well versed in. Thank you for running such a good program and framework for the Ai to gather and provide good guidance for the Faithful!
