Great app
Use it daily for prayers, most often the Liturgy of the Hours, readings and meditation. I love that I can down load days or a full week when traveling so my prayer life won’t be disrupted. Well done to the dev and support staff!
Definitely needs better code
There are a few problems with this app. The first and most glaring, is the fact that the minute you launch it it spends 30 to 50 seconds in a “loading“ phase. There’s nothing for it to load, there’s been no request for anything new, it’s just poorly written, so it spends time doing something it doesn’t have to. With all respect to the people who propagate the daily prayers and readings, they often make mistakes. Frequently, I have found there’s just no information. Finally, in violation of number 22 of the constitution on the sacred liturgy, they changed the language. It is good in a pinch, but if you want the daily readings and the daily office, and you want them in accordance with the mind of the church, this is not the app to use.
Difference
Husband and I both have the same edition of the IBreviary. But for some reason this morning mine says ordinary day and my husband says Saint Basil the great and Gregory nausea and why is there a difference between the two programs on our iPads?
Not working in original iPad Air
It works for more recent iPad versions but stopped working in original iPad Air and will not update. Maybe the fault is with Apple but still it’s very disappointing.
Rites section is a mess
No longer are rites available. Only masses are offered. There’s no rite of baptism of any kind. There is no rite of care for the sick. And there are no short blessings. Simply put there’s nothing but masses.
Great new ui
Thanks for the updated UI. I love that the settings no longer block the text. You make it possible to always be able to pray the breviary no matter where I am or when it is.
Do not download! Does not work!
I’m a first time user of this app and it doesn’t work on my iPhone 16 Pro Max (iOS v18.4). I tap on “Today” and it displays “Loading…”, goes away, and the current day’s title is displayed in the middle of the screen. No matter what I do I am unable to show that day’s content.

I love this app and use it daily. Recently I have encountered an issue on my iPhone where the app doesn’t load the date and this the Liturgy of the Hours section is blank because it doesn’t have the day’s prayers populated. It works fine on my iPad. Thank you…God bless!!!
Often unusable
Too many times lately I I’ve opened the app and tried to access the prayers, only to find a completely blank screen with nothing except the back button. It’s completely blank with no prayers loading. Resetting the app doesn’t fix it and resetting my phone doesn’t fix it. Please fix this. Ifs so annoying trying to do prayers only for the app to be broken. And nothing I tried fixes it except waiting it out until it’s magically fixed the next day.

It doesn’t
It doesn’t work properly since it is very inconsistent with texts and words (specially in Spanish) that works not in Latin America. It sounds very inappropriate and even Protestant since it uses texts using the word “Jehova”. Pleas take care of that.

overall i like it, and i especially like the useful prayer resources!!! i like them so much, that i wish there was a save/love react feature to save some of the articles in your profile!

Every time I download the week the app ceases to function. I really wish this would be fixed.
Grear app when it works
I love tuis app when it works. Recently after a few days or a week or two, when I open it, it shows no day information, and when I click on Liturgy of the hours or another item menu, it is completely blank. I try to close and reopen, but it never works after that. I need to delete the app and redownload. This is happening more frequently lately. Perhaps it is a sign of the suffering they are going through in Palestine and Israel. We must pray for them.

My dad has been using this app since I was just understanding prayers as a catholic this is a no brainer to get!
Unusable on iOS 17
Gives database error- unable to connect to server error. Unusable now.
Problem with app loading.
I tried multiple ways to get today’s liturgy of the hours, readings, prayers etc to load. This has happened a few times now? Any suggestions on possible solutions ? Otherwise I like the app. Very slow to go through the Prayers sections because it has a lot of stuff in it now so I have to go through the search bar to get to prayers that are at the end of the selection because scrolling through takes forever.

I love the app, but….
I’ve been using the app for years. The old version worked like a gem and was gold. I’ve gotten used to the new app (there is some millennial frustration with the fact that the hours portion of the app seems to take slower to open than the readings portion but whatever). However, the fact that I lose downloaded days and then the app won’t load anything of the day until I delete the app itself and re-download the app from the store has me looking for something else…
This app doesn’t work
Nothing on this app works and it’s useless now. Extremely hard to navigate, and now u can’t get straight to the point of what ur looking for.

I just updated the app after putting it off for a while and it was such a mistake!! I loved the old classic app, but now not only does it look terrible, it doesn’t even work! I tried opening the liturgy of the hours and usually that goes very quickly, but now I click on it and nothing happens at all!! Please allow us to revert back to the old version of the app! Everything was perfectly fine until I updated it just now and I seriously regret it. This makes me incredibly upset!

Notifications do not have a setting to turn off in the app
Notifications are my messages did the developer sends and they accumulate overtime. I believe that there should be a feature to delete notifications that have been issued for sometime. I enjoy using the app. Just want to make sure to manage notifications more efficiently. There is no current set up in the settings to turn off notifications.
Easy to use
Our parish priest uses this at our daily mass and it is so easy to follow. Love that we have an option to pray for the saint of the day and other important days. Thank you so much. I use it more than just at mass. It’s wonderful to have..

The former version Was excellent. But this new version is five steps backwards in many ways Automatic scrolling does not work properly. if you want to change the speed, the app shuts down. Also, the time from loading of a specific category lasts five seconds or more.
Good, but I found a bug
Thank you for this very useful app! I think I found a small bug: when the app is in “book mode” (as opposed to scrolling mode ), the links within the text don’t work. But, if you switch to scrolling mode, then the links are active and work. It would be great if you could please fix this bug! Thank you so much!
App unusable since update to version 7.2
The app hangs when you try to search for prayers. The letters you type on screen takes a long time to appear. Say for example, you want to search for “Acts of Contrition”, you would have finished typing “Acts of Contri” before the letters “Ac” begins to appear on screen. The delay is unbearable and I regret updating. This is true for iPad and iPhone with latest iOS updates. The Android version does not have this problem.
Too Many Notifications — Sad to Go
I have been using IBreviary for nearly 15 years. It’s an incredibly helpful prayer companion, with great features like downloading readings for a week and having access to the hours and many other prayers. That being said, I’m incredibly frustrated by the incessant notifications and the inability to silence them. Keeping notifications that will only be silenced after making a donation reads like a dark pattern in the app’s design. It feels strange to think that after many years, I’m likely going to switch to a different prayer app literally just because I can’t silence the notifications. But I hope they fix this because I loved this app!

This is a very useful App that i really like, and one that i try to use on a daily basis. There is only one improvement that i will suggest, it seems to be choosy in selecting the bios for daily saints that are shown, it doesn’t seem to portray all of the Saints that have festival days in the Holy Mass and it will be nice to give the bios for all that have festival days as noted in the daily Mass. Updated version is useless
They took a great app (the previous version) and made it virtually useless. It takes forever to load (why?), and it freezes up often. I’m not sure what bug this update introduced into the app, but I don’t/can’t use it anymore. I’d gladly take the previous version back!
New version problem
The new version erased the whole spiritual book. I wish I would had never done the update.
Best app for the Roman Missal I’ve found (non-clerical)
Much more complete than any “Missal” app for iPhone. I had never thought to look at the Missal section until today. I’ve long been frustrated with the online offerings (web as well as apps) for the Roman Missal. Takes a bit of getting used to, but I’m convinced the learning curve will be worth the reward.

Poor formatting for iPhone SE
Great app, but not optimized for all phones. On iPhone SE, multiple sections won’t display text properly formatted (text cuts off on right side of screen hiding a few letters) and other sections have no “back” button. The only way to get back to the main screen is to shut down the app and reopen it. Hopefully these bugs can be fixed and the app made that much better!
Tech difficulties after newest update
My app keeps displaying a blank white page if i try and launch without a good internet connection . Even other friends with iphones dont seem to have this problem but when i do it doesnt clear up with a better connection- i keep having to delete and download again. Sometimes i have the wrong readings and sometimes they have different readings but im the only one that seems to have this problem with a blank white page after a bad connection attempt to launch the app Sent from my iPhone
Office needs correction
Several times during the year the hours on a feast start with the proper psalmody but then revert to the common after the reading. Witness today on the Baptism of the Lord. In my community some use the printed text and others this app. The discrepancy disrupts the prayer.

New update is terrible
The new update is just terrible to use. The worst thing is the loading bar you get when switching to IBreviary from another app. What is it loading? Unacceptable.
Great app but...
Looks like an amazing app, very sleek with tons of content but it crashes every time I try to load the Arabic... Which is the reason why I got it in the first place!
Very slow to load with the new version
Great app for prayer but this latest version is very slow to start up the Office of Readings. Please fix this or make available the previous version as an option to use!!!
It was better before
Since I updated the App I have a lot of trouble uploading each day. It takes forever to open the Liturgy of the Hours section, as others have said, I often think it froze. I have had to delete the App and install it again because it just didn’t work. I don’t know why they “fixed” something that was working well.

Loved the old format not a fan of the new
The old app format was simply designed and easy to use. Not a fan of new design and format, at all. Menus are spread out making it unnecessarily complicated and a spiritual time waster. Lost all of my spiritual book, notified only after the update. Now notifications are more prominent and daily. Open, read and minutes later reappears. This new version is sending me back to my hard copy, four volume, breviaries.
Good but old version was faster
It’s still hands down the best LOH app on the app store. However this new app while it looks nice is very slow. It takes forever for things to load. I’m sure however with a few bug fixes it will be good to go.
