i like it a lot but i need more stories
so i love love love the odyssey one, but they dont have iliad yet... i've been messaging them everywhere to add it! so if you see this please add the iliad
Don’t make payment not worth it
This is AI garbage absolutely trash every character looks different in each episode in certain books this isn’t as good as the ‘good reviews’ say I don’t know if we’re looking at two different apps but this is absolutely trash the story lines are way to short skipping scenes and the scenes they show are just all over the place it’s like they do 1 chapter then skip multiple chapters and do another chapter I rather stick to the books I regret buying a subscription 🤦♀️ save your money yall Update:”I CANCELLED MY SUBSCRIPTION THEIR STILL TRYING TO TAKE MY MONEY!
Everythings great but some bugs.
Absolutely love everything about this app no clue how this app is not bigger than what it is it’s awesome. The only issue that I am having is creating. When creating a story it will load to about 50% then say something is wrong I have done it three times and it won’t fully load but it keeps taking gems even after not being created and lowkey I think that sucks seeing as I’m not getting the content.
Did you know
I like how it asks questions in the start so we can make an account but whenever I get to the did you know part it won’t let me scroll down or do anything. For this reason I couldn’t get the app started. I’m on an iPad. It’s really infuriating that I can’t continue after that one part.
Not Worth the Money
Great concept, but... Minus the First Star because the selection of books is seriously lacking and Minus the Second Star because if you look away for more than 30 seconds, the audio/video pauses and screen locks. Annoying.
Waste of time and money
Very few videos actually play and if they do they are brief and the lip syncing is terrible. Wasted $10.
I want a refund
The stories I tried are not proofread and have grammatical errors throughout. The stories are also not entertaining, at least that I tried. The titles even have spelling and grammatical errors. The selection is terrible. Some stories aren’t finished. There’s no way to search specific genres or themes.
You can’t read books for free
Downloaded this app because ads made it seem like I could listen to/read ACOTAR content. Unfortunately, I was hit with multiple subscription screens and eventually a paywall with no visible way to close or continue for free. I tried waiting, swiping, reopening the app, and checking for hidden close buttons, but nothing worked. It was really frustrating because I just wanted to try the app before deciding if it was worth paying for. The app may have good content, but the forced paywall experience felt misleading and disappointing.
Good but
It could be a good idea to add a save for later or a favorite list
The One That Got Away
Very good, they all close to the same plot but I still like reading
You can’t watch without a subscription
Before you can even try to watch it asks over and over again to pay. To the point when you deny 1 offer it gives you another and another again until you can’t even exit an offer without paying. Before you even get to look at the books they want you to pay. You can’t even preview to see if it’s worth it.
More than half of the videos can’t even load properly
Paid user. Love the idea but most of the videos can’t even load properly. It keeps loading but nothing else shows up. Very disappointed.
The AI narration is the best I’ve heard
I have two original audiobooks on this app that are doing well. The narration does rewrite what is uploaded, but for the most part it gets the story right. Sometimes it will read what I wrote word for word, other times it summarizes. I think that it would be better for writers if it stuck to how the story is written. The AI narrators are surprisingly realistic. The app is quite limited, though. It would be nice if readers could leave comments, likes and ratings. A creator dashboard that includes analytics would also be useful. Allowing free trials for readers and creators would boost downloads and purchases. I think this app has a lot of potential and hope it continues to improve and introduce new features like the ones I mentioned.
Scam
Don’t waste your time or money on this garbage!!! You won’t get your money back and the app is terrible. Apple won’t help and the developer website doesn’t have any support features to contact them.
Suggestions
I think this is a really cool concept and has lots of potential but had to give my two points of feedback: 1. The quiz at the beginning is really prohibitive, the only three categories fit none of what I was looking for but I pressed on. 2. Once I clicked through the survey that I really didn’t feel resonated, I got into the library after having to decline multiple times to pay so I could actually see if I wanted to read the books in the library. That’s where my second suggestion is, at some point clicking through titles, I got hit with an unavoidable paywall. I wasn’t ready to buy yet and I didn’t because I couldn’t avoid the paywalls. Super cool concept, but the UI from my perspective needs a bit more inclusion (frankly felt like it was designed for girls which is fair, but like as a guy I love my sci fi and would find it interesting too)
DO NOT DOWNLOAD
SUPPORT AUTHORS NOT CHEAPLY MADE AI APPS! The only reason I give this 5 stars is in the hopes that you all see this … this is in fact a 0/5 stars app because this is just AI trash DO NOT SUPPORT THESE APPS! Support the authors that write the books PLEASE… I understand it’s tempting to “ watch the books” but it’s not worth your time or money. I downloaded the app just to see how horrible this really is and you can’t even watch without paying for a subscription. There’s zero permission from the authors to publish their books in this way. We all like to talk about red flags so let’s make this simple for you 🚩#1- publishing books without authors permission 🚩#2: you have to pay to watch stolen content from real authors 🚩#3: it’s AI trash 🤖🚮 Please please please do not support this app if you can report it! Also if your still not convinced think about this for a second- your about to dump money to watch trash content that’s stolen… I’m sure this app will be taken down at some point so your going to throw away your money… YOU WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THIS APP FOREVER IT WILL BE TAKEN DOEN FOR COPYRIGHT REASONS!!! ⚠️⚠️⚠️
Not as advertised
The advertising videos that I kept receiving included the ACOTAR series and fourth wing series, and after downloadING and paying for the premium subscription, I realize that it did not offer those series.
Price
It’s very expensive
My review
Ok I absolutely love this app. I love how when you first start it walks you through for picking titles to choose from. It really helps!
Literally can’t do anything without paying
I literally can’t even browse content for interest without being asked to subscribe first. So hard pass for me. Asked too many profile questions about my reading plans etc. it automatically added 3 god awful looking “books” to my queue that I couldn’t unselect. Like F off just show me the content and I’ll decide on my own.
Yess !!!
It’s amazing!!!
Don’t waste your money
This app is horrible. I wanted to sign up for a free trial. I don’t get the option. You couldn’t even try it. So I got stuck wasting $30 for a subscription. When I tried it it’s all garbage. Robot voices and anime. What a waste. Don’t bother with it.
Mislead by an add
I downloaded the app because I got an add that said “I’m going to watch haunting Adeline” I said bet, I read that, downloaded the app. Had to subscribe a weekly fee to see anything, and the hook isn’t even on there. Nor is any of the popular books right now. Completely misleading advertising.
Do not purchase
I downloaded and after 10 mins decided this was not the app I wanted. I cancelled the subscription immediately and now they are trying to charge my debit card every week even after cancellation. That’s stealing. I don’t know how to stop this.
BookTok App
Most is anime not real life AI appearances. The ones that do appear as real life AI do not play when selected!!! Terrible app and no way to contact anyone for assistance! Just subscribed today and not only want it cancelled, I don’t even want the year I purchased!! I do not agree to any funds removed from my account for this very displeasing app!!!
