YAY
It’s a really good app. I don’t know why but it just is. Actually I helps me with planing stuff and getting to talk with friends on it ( I would use it if you don’t have messages or whatever ) and yea. It’s pretty good
Great app- but could be more
We used this on our recent cruise and loved it for communicating among a big group. It could be better in that it was a pain to add everyone in an extended group- if the staterooms are connected for dining etc it should be easier to add people. I would also like it to have the ability to see and buy pictures on it. I also had issues when switching devices - I would lose all those people that I had added and would need to ask for their numbers to add them again.
print is faded and small
The app was great on keeping up with schedules, but the print was light colored and small with no way to expand to a more readable size
SO SLOW
Disney has almost no idea how to run a website that is snappy. They can barely keep it up to date with correct answers. It’s a bit better on board ship, but on land, they have no idea what they’re doing. Frequent timeouts just looking around. It’s like the SREs are asleep at the wheel and the architects don’t understand caches.
Just OK
I just returned from a seven night cruise on the treasure. It was hard to find things at times that you found one day, but you couldn’t find the next day. I think it’d be better if there were categories that you could choose from on a main screen. Some days I couldn’t find what the drink of the day was. Then the communication section was terrible. I would send messages to my kids and they wouldn’t get it or they would send messages to me and it would show up six hours later.
Amazing experience with Disney Wish
We just finished our Disney wish three days trip to Bahamas. It was an amazing experience.
Please Listen To Guests
Not sure who decides things- but not being able to manage my own activities is not good. Also- would love to be able to know what’s happening in my stateroom, not just my activities. Feels like decisions are made without experience , practical or operational knowledge
Stopped working on iPhone 8 iOS 16.7
I like the app, but now it stopped working, though the AppStore info says it should work under iOS 16. It shows the opening screen for half a second, then disappears.
Disney Cruise
Very poor connection, especially away from the ship. Notorious for bugginess!
Not a satisfied customer!
The app was slow to refresh details. I wouldn’t get updates about my day 2 or day 3 island visit until day 4 at sea. The message/text communication wasn’t useful at all. Day 1 our group of 6 could message each other for a few hours but after that the messages would not work which forces us to either not be in communication (which was unacceptable when trying to coordinate with grandparents and children) or have to add extra international costs to our cellular provider service which costed us $300-$400. Very expensive bill due to the app not functioning properly.
It was great
I loved how it had the little adventures in the cruise app! It made it something someone wanted to use!
Loading took too long
The whole app user experience was bad. Every pages loading time were terrible long. It has few times loading failed too. Please fix it.
Great navigation, horrible chat/messaging family
Easy to find events going on in the ship, reminders were nice to meet characters at where/what time, and great for information if need help with anything. Trying to chat/message with your family to see where they were, had horrible connection. Send a message, they get it two hours later. Missed events with family and trying to find missing wondering kids were hard.
App Upgrades
My family and I had the toughest time understanding this app. It was very confusing and not user friendly at all. It increased an already huge amount of frustration for us during our 1st Disney cruise. We have cruised several times on other cruise lines and know our way around a cruise and app. However, we were completely lost and a huge part of that is this app
Better than other cruise lines but new layout is not friendly
This app has changed a lot, last update is not the best
Disney cruise
Wonderfull cruise. So much to do food was exceptionally good. Disney knows how to cruise. Can’t wait for next vacation.
App is LACKING
For a company with as much money as we all know Disney has, this app IS NOT IT. The my Disney experience app? :chefs kiss: this one? Terrible. It’s not user friendly. The photos don’t sync with the photo package you purchase. Even when you are in airplane mode using the ships WiFi it works spotty AT BEST. They really need to completely overhaul it. I really wish I could say something better. I love Disney and I love the customer service. That being said this app truly drops the ball.
Annoying
Sent my messages 15 minutes late by then it wasn’t worth it. I couldn’t connect with my family to text either
Review
The app struggles to connect and was very inconvenient while on vacation
Slow operation/trouble loading/ delays
Avid Disney cruise line traveler and this is the first time I’ve experienced such slow delays and refreshing time. Notifications sent by Disney were received but when trying to view the message it would not load. I felt very frustrated on my last cruise. Wish it was working better. I usually love the function. Maybe it was internet issues because even the funnel vision on board was experiencing intermittent freezing and lost of sound.
Disney Cruise
It was sooooooooo awesome!!!! 😆😄😆😄😆
iPhone Air FaceID Login loop
The DCL app on my new iPhone Air is stuck in a FaceID loop. I can’t get past it. This is an iPhone Air model MG1D4LL/A Something is wrong in the app. I have rebooted my phone, uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times. Please fix…1 star for attention.
Good app
Overall the app worked fine it was not get service in the islands intermittently
Allredfam5
The texts did not go through and some of our group never got the texts ever. The texts from the cruise line were hard to read a small font with low contrast.
Intermittent WIFI !
Even though I paid to get the best wifi for the week, the service was intermittent !
WOW
AMAZING, after your 1st trip you can get a 10% off (tax not Included) I am going again this week!
Didn’t connect
I couldn’t get the app to connect once on board the ship. I wasted an hour of my free time the first cruise night waiting in line to get it fixed and ultimately guest services couldn’t get it working anyway. The next day my husband figured it out. Put a damper on my first night.
Awsome
The app is very helpful but very glitchy at times.
Disney cruise app experience
The overall app was very effective and convenient with planning and looking at reservations and activities at certain times. But I can’t get over how terrible the texting and chat part was, texts didn’t go through and weren’t sending. Good idea bad execution. Hoping for a better update next time!?
Missing one key feature
Love the app but unless I missed it you can not order food- room service to your room via the app. I tried calling two times on the cruise only to be on hold over 15 (prob morel ile 20) mins each time giving up both times.
Navigator
It worked well.
Poor
Unfortunately the app did not work consistently while on the cruise. It frequently would not update, it often would say that it was not connected, and when it did work the messages and updates would be very delayed. If the app had worked as expected it would have been amazing, to have all the updates, but unfortunately it fell short.
My exprerience!
It should be more entertaining activities for adults too. Disney has many years and a lot of adults grow up watching Disney movies and characters. So, Im, as a adult wished to enjoy more. And also, it was very hard and tire making long lines and waiting a lot for taking picture with characters. I think you should show up many (double or triple) Mickeys, Donalds, Minnies, and more. About restaurants: Breakfast was ok. But in at night, The menu used to look fantastic, but It wasn't. One received a extra dry sirloin. So I tried to select other options and there wasn't too many options. Costumer service, room service were excellent. And housekeepers were awesome people!! My family and I love them!
Spotty
The app connectivity is terrible. The app is virtually useless the first day of the cruise—arguably the most important day to have the app while finding rooms and figuring out maps and schedules. The app is slow outside of the a Disney ship and the connection cuts in and out on the ship itself.
W/C and Kids
Please have a W/C available on the ship! Please advise parents to tell their kids NOT TO RUN on the ship and to use their INSIDE VOICES!!
Melissa Fleahman
I’ve been on 2 other cruises. This was my 3rd cruise but first Disney cruise. This was the best one yet.
App
During my Disney Wish Cruise, I constantly had issues with the app connecting to the local network. Every time I entered in the app would ask me to enable Local Network access on my phone, even though it was already enable. This was extremely frustrating because it drained a lot of my phone's battery, and the app often took a long time to open and load. Since we were using the app to communicate with the rest of our family while onboard, there were times when I needed to reach someone quickly, but opening the app and getting it to work was anything but quick. For a cruise where the app is essential for family communication, l expected it to be much more reliable and responsive. This was definitely one of the frustrating aspects of our Disney Wish experience.
Onboard chat
All is good except that you cannot add people to a group chat after it has been made
Sub-par app for Disney
Hard to navigate app that barely worked throughout the actual cruise. We sailed with 18 people in our group and only 4 of us had little to no disruption on the app during our cruise
From Riley R
It was ok IG but the app sometimes food me to put in this one thing on settings that I already had on so it made me mad!
Activities and schedule
It was great way to see what was happening on the boat and your dinner schedule!
Navigator App Stinks
1. While onboard, app constantly gives “Turn On Local Network” error and redirects you to Settings, even though the setting is already on. Guest Services recommended a work-around, but it didn’t work. 2. App takes forever to launch and requires constant retries. 3. If you sign in on a second device, then the settings on the first device are lost. For example, sign onto app on your iPhone and set up chat with everyone in your party. Then sign in on your iPad. Now all your chat history and contacts are purged. 4. App only works onboard if you’re on the guest network. To access AT&T ship roaming, you constantly have to toggle the Guest WiFi on and off. You won’t receive chat notifications if you toggle off the Guest WiFi. I agree with DCL’s decision to save trees and not print cruise info, but requiring you to use their app is only workable if the app functions properly.
Wifi reliability
This was our 3&4 th cruise and first back to back experience. We had a wonderful cruise. Amazing staff - most notably Ashish and Niall our dining team, Wilmar from activities, and the photographer Kingsley. They provided excellent service and treated us so well. Exceeded our expectations in every way. The wifi was not always reliable- making it more difficult to touch base with our group of 10. This would be our be our one disappointment. We loved every minute and can’t wait to return. The Mancini Family.
Not consistent
While we were at the port the app worked fine but after we went out to see and in the islands u w out led be lucky to even be able to open it up. The schedule was helpful but that was it.
mid
The app was just okay, mostly we just googled any question because the app was hard to navigate
Great communication
App was always keeping us informed of all upcoming activities and important announcements.
Many glitches
App struggles to work at home or on ship. Messaging system doesn’t works. I hope DCL fixes glitches and gives us a better platform.
Good and bad
The app was great if you could get your phone logged in. We had 2 phones and could not get one logged on the whole trip…
Connection was spotty
Would need to constantly refresh app to reestablish connection.
Spotty
Hard time messaging our group ended up using another app
