Terrible hairstyles for women
Please upgrade the hairstyles. There are only two blonde options compared to the darker hair colors and they’re not pretty compared to the other characters in the game….. they look scraggly.

Delayed play and nothing like the ads
While the artwork and world building is really amazing, I wish we didn’t have to wait 24 hrs for a new episode to drop. After the first term ended, we had to wait like 2 weeks for the second term to release and you still have to wait 24 hours for a new episode, which are also really short. I also feel like there is so much dialogue, and not really many chances for you to choose your own path or choice. If you’ve seen the ads, it’s really not like that at all, but still overall a decent game. Wish there were more options for ally/romance building also.
Great app
Superb artwork. Music is awesome. I wish they make each scene longer but the storyline is super fine and attention grabbing. I am liking this more than Choices.

The choices writers get laid off because of AI, so they create their own app with… AI.
So fun, but…
This is such a fun, immersive, creative and imaginative game, and I’m thoroughly enjoying the story. My only complaint is that while I don’t mind watching an ad or two for extra rewards, but the rewards aren’t really enough to up alliances/complete side quests to really have options to continue with the main storyline, and that’s frustrating. It feels almost unachievable at some points.

I played a bit and even purchased. But is it true that when we restart the book the ally and clothes paid for won’t be saved? I really liked the writing and word building… but if that’s the case then Idk if I can continue 😭
It has promise
I like the story and some features, however I can’t see how this can be played long term unless you’re willing to spend a lot of money. Aside from only getting 3 keys and watching ads for more the lack of gems you receive from watching ads and completing scenes isn’t enough for side quests of building relationships. In order to progress in the main story you need to have your companions at certain levels. But those side quests require 25 diamonds for each interaction. And if those companions aren’t at a certain level you can’t play the next chapter. I know that money keeps things going but the amount you need to spend is ridiculous. I doubt I’ll keep playing because I’m already paying money for diamonds on the chapters app but the pay off is much better than this.

I really wanna give it a higher rating because it has a lot of potential, but the genAI art is holding it back. Please work with real artists who pledge not to use AI tools!
I like the game but…
I really wish there were more in game options to earn gems because it is almost impossible to level up allies when the ally quests take so many gems. Please consider adding ways to earn them.

Love Game buuut…
I’m loving the game, the story so far is really well thought out and I’m loving the blooming romance between my character and my book nerd. However I do think making all options other than one gems only makes it extremely hard to get further in relationships(friends or otherwise). I’d like to see a rebalance of the gem rewards after a story and maybe instead of just 2 gems for the ads maybe like 5? Not saying get rid of the pay to play stuff but maybe balance out the earnings for watching ads or story missions?

There’s so much customization- there’s so many romance options- you can truly be whoever you want. The story is immaculate, the twists have me hooked. I’ve been playing “choice” games since I was twelve and nothing feels as amazing as this game is. I will sing its praises easily. I do wish I accrued more diamonds per chapter but I’m not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. Seriously. Amazing stuff. Would love to see more from this company and be a part of it. (I’m a character artist)
Disappointed
The “choices” literally are not choices. Nothing in the story changes despite what you choose. Maybe a quick reference in text but the plot is not affected at all.
Chubby character option please
The game is the best I’ve ever played so far but I just wish we were given the option to make our characters chubby aswell but it’s a really good game and I love
Great Story, but a total money grab
I find it so disappointing when you start a really promising game and then it becomes clear that the cost to play is more than buying an AAA title. I want to support small titles but I’d much rather pay a flat fee and know that I have full access to the game than pay $35 dollars and have maybe an hour of actual game play and still have everything locked. If you actually want to get through the story while unlocking the characters quests you need to spend 100s of dollars which just is not worth it for this style of game. It’s very disappointing and turns me away from developers who use that as their business model. With other story apps there is at least an option where you can get an unlimited pass per month (still expensive but you get a lot of resources per day if you log in), even that option seems more worth while.
Diamonds to play
I like the game and the story. However, like most of these story games you have keys and diamonds to customize or continue with the storyline. That’s fine. However, this game is essentially trying to force people into buying diamonds to enjoy the full extent of the story. Not a big fan of that. Earning diamonds should be more proportionate to the frequency and amount in which you are requiring it.

Be rich or pass your turn
It is a game with a lot of potential. The sets and characters are beautiful, the story is built and really interesting. What is unfortunate is that it is impossible to move forward after chapter 3 without paying with money. We win 1 diamond per chapter, while it takes 35 to do the secondary quests that are essential to move forward... I want to watch ads, but when I see the price of diamonds, don't abuse. If you want to move forward properly, make the whole story, expect to pay a lot of money, maybe even hundreds of euros. To flee so!
Longer Chapters
I’m loving the game, the characters, the scenes, the storyline. I think my only con would be longer chapters, each one of them leaves you wanting more! Hehe
Resources/Chapter length </3
I’ve seen a few other reviews so I’m happy to see i’m not alone. I’m happy to finally see this game as I’ve been following it for awhile! The scene length is really inconsistent which makes some keys feel like a waste and it takes awhile to refresh. Resources are definitely scarce, i think it’s a bit unfair to have added the coins to the daily check-in given how hard it is to gain any momentum. The other thing! Which is probably just me, is that relationships tend to have no gradual progression and instead it’s just suddenly their first kiss (esp mc who i assume hasn’t kissed ANYONE before) and they’re like making out? 😭 I’m a slow burn girlie and i rarely get to see it in games like this, even with bardric there was like no obvious turning point it was just oh suddenly he doesn’t hate me.
Not worth it if your not going to pay
Its really hard to play if you dont have enough gems, and having only 3 keys every couple hours. The game requires money to be enjoyable however it does have a good storyline.
Love this game!
I’m a big fan of narrative stories and the writers of this game. They do a great job with world building and making me actually care about the characters. I wish chapters were a little longer but we get several updates per week so it has been a fine flow.
Preise sind unverschämt
Die Geschichte ist interessant und ansprechend erzählt/dargestellt. Nach nicht mal einer Stunde sind die freien „Schlüssel“ aufgebraucht und man muss jede neue Szene einzeln freischalten. Das ist ohne Käufe möglich, reduziert einen aber auf 10 Minuten am Tag bis sie wieder aufgebraucht sind. Die Preise für die Schlüssel, gerade bei „Spielzeiten“ von manchmal nur einer Minute sind massiv überteuert. Nicht zu empfehlen wenn eine Geschichte gern halbwegs zusammenhängend erleben möchte. Gute Idee, aber aus meiner Sicht durch die Monetarisierung komplett zerstört.

I think it would be better if the keys didn’t take 2 hours to refill one, and I think you should give like five gems out each level/chapter.
Great story but horrible resource farming
The story itself is definitely great and very interesting but the scenes are way too short, often costing too many keys to even complete a chapter, and then resource farming is not great either. Scenes are also way too short and having to wait several days just for a 30 second scene is horrible user experience. Make it cheaper and simpler to play. I have spent a lot of money just to realize that spending that much money won’t even get me far in the game because of the cost of the scenes/ally scenes/clothing/etc.

the game is fun but you can’t level up your relationships because it costs so much, which kind of ruins the game.
Addicted
Spellfyre feels like it brings back the old spark of choice-driven story games. I’ve always loved interactive story games, but it’s been a while since one really pulled me in the way Spellfyre has. This one feels much more thoughtful, with a story and characters that actually feel fleshed out. It doesn’t feel like just another money grab. You can tell that they put a lot of thought and care into this. The customization is great, the character designs are beautiful, and the whole experience feels polished, immersive, and character-driven in a way I’ve really missed from this genre.
Full of AI and Expensive
I had high hopes for this app after learning about its inception. But I’m sorely disappointed. There are marks of AI in every aspect of this Visual Novel App, from the sprites to the background to the animations. It gives an uncomfortable feel. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly to some, it is so expensive. It’s understandable that these apps have to make money somewhere, but there’s needing to make money and then there’s being money hungry. To summarise, this app had potential but chose instead to cut corners with AI and make you pay out the rear for the pleasure. Would not recommend.
Four stars because of the keys
You get three keys to read three parts of the story in one night but once you get so far in the game, you only have one part of the story available every night and not on weekends. It is a very good storyline very interactive, but that is a flaw of the game.
Expensive
Downloaded the game yesterday or day before and got into it. The art was good, the story was good. Then all of a sudden I have to pay diamonds to upgrade the relationship of allies/ start a story with them. Other than the one you get through per chapter (double if you watch the ads) and two you get from watching a video in one day, it completely takes the joy out of it when you have to wait to accumulate enough diamonds. This is at most 4 diamonds a day when waiting to progress. Not only that, the first cool outfit that comes out with a relationship advancement with Talyn costs 350 coins. How the hell do you get that much that early?? 350… coins….. and not only that, the outfit before the trials costs 475 coins! Where the heck do we pull that money out of?? That is ridiculous and greedy, trying to coerce people to spend heaps just to play the damn game.
Rewards too low
Engaging premise with solid story but it is pretty much impossible to play without spending money. All the allies but 1 need gems to level up and it takes weeks without any storyline progress at a realistic pace of watching ads to reach the amount needed for one ally level. Let’s be real…I’m not going to login to this daily to watch ads for a few mins progress each week when there are other games or even actual books out there with immediate access.
Super addicting
Love love this game and I’m so glad I’m supporting the original creators of pixelberry, too!! I missed the amazing quality art and storylines!!
So disappointing
Given these are former developers of Choices, I wrongly assumed they would have great art, stories and episodes. How disappointing that they use AI art, episodes that last less than a minute and have egregious prices for in-game currencies. Consider me over it.
Delayed Play
The only thing I don’t like about this game is that when I first started I was able to go at my own pace and play all the way through to the start of the second term and now - instead of playing straight through at my own pace (like I’m living in the story) - I’ve got to wait 24 hours between each episode. And there doesn’t seem to be as many side quests and romance as when I was first building connections with my friend group. Everything else is great. Artwork is superb. The school setting and world building is very cool. The friend group and the character / relationship development paths are all great. I just wish they’d drop the whole term at once (or even the whole story) and let each player choose the pace they go at in the game.
Too expensive and short episodes
It’s a great game. Great characters and great story. However, the progress you need gems and they’re too expensive. The scenes are also very short. Just feel that if there was some more appreciation to the fan base this game would do very well
Amazing story
The story is amazing your choices do matter I think the reason I only rated it three stories is the fact that you wait 2 hours for a key to play a 5 minute scene it becomes a little discouraging to wait that long to not get to play that much. The game play to wait time ratio is disproportionate
Fun Fantasy
Magical! The story is gripping in a fun fantasy world and the love interests are great. I keep replaying just to explore different dialogue options and personalities (magical affinities). Highly recommend for the characters, art, storyline, and more! Love the MC customization too.
Disappointed
Honestly disappointing. The chapters or "scenes" are way too short with some only lasting a minute, which completely kills immersion. The currency system is unbalanced as hell and keys are an absolute pain to get unless you watch annoying ads or pay your way through this mess of a game. Feels more like a quick cash grab instead of a game, especially since I’ve been very supportive of this game during it’s development. Definitely not something i’d recommend to get into unless they work on these issues.
Fun app - wish it offered more rewards!
This app is so fun! Love the story lines and the graphics! My only complaint is no subscription offer 🤨 and only getting 1-2 diamonds per scene is really low when each scene per chapter uses a key to play - if diamonds and coins were double it would make the game a lot more playable!
Good story - slow progress
Overall I really like the story. The world and the art style are really good too. But the scenes are INSANELY short. And it takes two hours to get a new "key" for a scene so you can play like five scenes a day maybe if you have anything else to do with your life. On top of that, you need a lot of gems to develop bonds, but only get 1-2 gems per scene. You can watch additional ads but they refresh every 5 hours so you get 2 extra gems like once a day. I really want to be able to play this game but it's impossible to move forward because it's impossible to get resources. And it's hardly worth it for how short the scenes are. Either give us more gems per scene or make things cheaper. 2 ads per 2 minute episode is insane
Fun story, BUT
I’ve been playing this for about five days now. I understand wanting people to spend money on a game, but there’s no way I’m going to spend as much as I’d seemingly required to take in every single side quest in this. I enjoy the story and the interactive element and the artwork is gorgeous. BUT It is Frustratingly difficult to try and get enough gems or coins to “buy” scenes and/or level up your ally bonds.

“Made by real people, for you” no it’s really not. The company makes an Anti-AI stance but the artists use AI for their game. Nobody asked for AI slop. The people left Pixelberry cause of AI, to create another company that uses AI? Make it make sense. This isn’t a game for the people. Trash art, trash game. Do better
Great game with room for growth!
So far I really love this game. The storyline is interesting and episodes release fairly close together so you don’t lose interest waiting on the next installment. The romances I’ve done so far are really sweet too. I do have some suggestions. I would love a little more character customization. Even just having the same faces and hairstyles that are there now but being able to change the hair color and their eye color. A lot of the base options just don’t combine well, it’s like there’s a certain hair/face combo you’re supposed to use and the others don’t really match. Also - side note - Bardric looks handsome when he’s smirking but his character portrait when he’s smiling does not look good lol. It would also be great if we could have more save slots. I like to play my characters as monogamous and would love to see some of the other storylines without losing my current ones. I understand developers probably don’t want people to just use more slots to farm a ton of gems, but they could keep it where we only earn gems on the first two and let us have more slots just for story purposes. Only other thing is I’d love if we could occasionally have an art scene that includes our character. I know that would be harder with the customization but one thing that I like about games like Episode or Choices is seeing the characters interact and incorporating that in the romance quests somehow would be awesome.
