Great app
I really enjoy looking at this app. So informative, and fun
Made app pay to use
This app used to quite helpful for a Quick Look at what was on the water, unfortunately they now want to charge. I’d advise anyone reading this to simply Google ais ship tracking, you will get free live data of marine traffic.
Sart Alarm
I use this app regularly but on Friday a sart alarm went off at a yard in Great Yarmouth. HMCG were informed and the sart was turned off. But it is still showing on this app a day after it was switched off.
Not very good
It worked ok but after i payed the £4.99 it hasn’t worked properly I can’t scroll on it
Gone down hill
used to be good when free, used a couple of years ago. went to use this year and needed subscription at £1.99 no big deal .. apart from there's nothing listed! I'm in Sivota Bay, Lefkada with an abundance of yachts and boats .. but only 4-5 listed with no detail on the boat! Just downloaded marine traffic (for free) and gives a far batter picture. From my point of view - avoid this App until they get their data feeds sorted (Aug 26)
Ship
It is really good but it would be better if it actually showed you a picture of the cruise ship
Poor
Very disappointed with the coverage overall
Layers of paid add-on features
The app is very cool. They clearly list the optional purchasable add-on features beyond the first paid level. Boatnerd on the web offers many of the same options. Thankyou!
Not updating
I like that you get notifications on when a ship leaves port but the app is unable to provide live updates on ships that show on other apps.
Miss lead
When I signed up for this I thought I was paying for a lifetime subscription but now I have a $2.99 bill on my credit card every month
Top Job
I just love to see what’s making a passage
A system that doesn’t work
I am in Madeira and I paid £4.99 to see live shipping in the harbour here but nothing
Surprise extras
App works well now. Not sure why my NOAA charts disappeared for a while, but now they’re back. All’s good.
Mediocre
Doesn’t even tell you the tonnage of a vessel. Slow to react, has to keep loading ships when scrolling around the map. Overall a very mediocre app with spotty coverage that doesn’t really do anything well.
Ship filter button obscures augmented reality button
I use the app almost daily and like it. However, not enough UI testing was done when the ship filter was added. The button lies on top of the augmented reality button making it impossible to enable the latter on iPhone and iPad. Please move either away from the other.
Excellent ship tracker
This App auto refreshes the ships (if there are any on the screen area - it tells you if there isn’t) - the one off purchase of more information and a picture is well worth the £4.99 - well done the App writer
rubbish
not showing any boats around funchal
Boat Watch is the best!
I’ve tried a few different app but I like the features and reliability of Boat Watch most.
Flawed
Downloaded the app to keep track of the boat two friends are on travelling round the Caribbean 1st time of entering the ships name the app identified it had just set sail. The next day when trying to see who far the boat had sailed it showed the same place as the previous day with a prompt stating, last known position! Makes it sound like it had sunk overnight! So not impressed.
Better than the others
Was trying to find boats before they get where they’re going. This app is pretty easy to use.
Great app
Love the idea
Can not view ship
upon trying to view the ship , it states with a warning that the website is not up to date. No ship link can be opened
Picture Upload
Please change to “Do you have a better photo” for proper grammar.
Why are ships disappearing
Used to be a good if not best ship identification app and easily identify ships - as I live with views of main shipping channel it was always good to quickly identify ships - very occasionally one would not appear on the app. Now that is the norm with most not appearing - why is that? Especially passenger vessels. If I know the ship and search for it usually it will show up but then will disappear as cannot confirm current location. Why is this happening?
Lost information
Unable to get boat details just goes into restore skip mode.
Torbay
We get lots of interesting craft in the bay. It’s great to be able to find out some of the names.
Big Disappointment
After spending a one off payment of £4.99 I was expecting the app to be add free. Oh well, you live and learn.
Very limited.
Very limited detail not worth buying. Going to cancel £5 subscription
No tracking
No tracking unless you pay. This service is free on other apps.
Boat watch
I enjoy seeing what ships are coming through. Thank you!
George. O
Great, have to upgrade next.
Waste of time
Just keeps saying ‘No ships on map’ - are you telling me that there are no ships in the whole English Channel?
Boat Watch
Locates all ships in range on map colour coded for type of ship. Able to locate a specific ship by name and shows location, ship details and position on map. Very useful for anyone interested in ship locations and movements
Not what I expected
Although being able to see where ships are, it’s sad that you pay for the “one time upgrade” and then find that everything else within the app costs an additional charge. So they mislead you to believe that once you’ve upgraded, you won’t be charged again……. False. False false. Don’t waste your money on this.
iPad problems
I have had Boat watch for several years, and overall I like it. But recently it won’t load on my IPad it still works with my iPhone.
Great app
Good fun and informative
Not free
Keeps asking for subscriptions!!!!
BoatWatch
Pretty good. Fascinating! Entertaining! Informative!
Does not show true position.
Been tracking a cruise ship which according to the app has not moved for 5 hours. Waste of £4.50
Satellite View
The App offers Satellite view option on the front page but I have been unable to access that function?
Tried trial for 5 minutes then bought the premium
This is a great app for sitting on my balcony watching the ships come and go. Great tracking and identification.

👍
Not unlimited fleets :(
The style of the app was very nice at first, but once upgraded it did not provide unlimited fleets as suggested. Bad advertising and very disappointed customer.
Ship locations
Not very responsive to ship locations in Sydney...
Escape the room
When you look out and all you see raindrops on the window you can use your software to go anywhere in the world to see what shipping is doing and armed with your imagination briefly escape that boring feeling and dream for a while.
Rubbish ship finder app
Lot of ships not showing up despite being on other ship finder apps - very unreliable app.
Useful App.
I have found this app. very useful and interesting for tracking and identifying boats and ships in the major harbours. Although most of the reviews I've read have been negative and I wasn't expecting much, when you consider how the data is received, I was pleasantly surprised and think they have done a good job.
Not so good anymore
Bought this app two years ago and it was great but this past year I have seen more ships out in Lake Michigan passing through that never show up on the app which was the reason for purchasing the app. Feel like a waste of money now. 😞
