I hope the app works better than creating the profile. The face scan was awful and took a dozen attempts.
Option use iOS Wallet
It’s optional, Apple Wallet can also add a Driver License for Virginia. It’s not connected to this app. VA mID relatively straightforward to set up. Typical for apps, you must agree to an agreement that basically says you accept all risks and app creators don’t. Have not used as ID, thus don’t know how well it performs. And might delete because Wallet can hold VA DL.
Fails
I have had this for a while and have used it about a dozen times. Recently it stated I needed to update it. It will not scan my license and each time it fails, you have to start from the beginning only to find it fails and you are back in that loop.

I lost all data out of the blue. I had to redo the process and it was more difficult the second time doing it.

Such a simple process and great to have!
Needs work
Setup is glitchy, it randomly require re-enrollment and only works 1 out of every 5 times I tried to use it.
Very poor directions.
I would never have succeeded without the help of Google Gemini. I thought going outside would be a wonderful idea for excellent lighting. Having been an amateur photographer. I knew that that was a very diffuse light because it was partly cloudy, but Gemini said that you shouldn't have a bright light behind you. It also gave some other hints. I had failed about six times before I succeeded on my android this phone which is an iPhone 13 it succeeded first time, but I already knew about the lighting issues

Needs Native Integration
The app is passible but it needs modernization. Native integration, the ability to open settings when printing you to connect Bluetooth, etc.—the mature qol features of a mobile app. It’s a start.

Really a comfortable way to display the ID. Great!!
Keeps Forgetting!!
What’s the point of a mobile id if the thing that stores it forgets you even have an id???? Please VA, quit wasting taxpayer dollars and just use the ones already working on Google wallet and apple wallet???? At least those two never forget!

Took ten restarts before I got through the setup.
Good but still maturing
Overall a great idea and will be convenient. Will be much better as it becomes accepted at more places. One frustration is it seems to forget that I have registered. Not sure if that occurs when the app updates, but value is questionable when one goes to use it and gets prompted to register again. Happened twice to me so far!

Test run
It’s not working all of a sudden I was allowed to be a part of the test run where it was working and my ID was secured but now I’m not able to use the feature. I’ve uninstalled and re-downloaded with no solution. I don’t know what you guys did but put it back.
Very difficult to use!
It took me over 20 minutes, including deleting and reloading the app which had frozen up. The face recognition part was very difficult.

App needs improvements
Won’t scan license in the best lighting planet earth can provide needs a developer to work on it asap
Helpful but painful
The UX needs improvement. Scanning the back of your id is easy but getting your picture right is hard. It took me seven times to get it right. Each time it doesn’t like your picture you have to go all the way back to the beginning. The instructions of what to fix cut off on the screen so you don’t really know how to fix it. Glad I finally got it right but the experience is difficult.
