Works
The app really works to set you up on legitimate dates. Trust in the process and it will pay off! I recommend highly for serious daters.
a total waste of time and money
The AI assistant completely ignores basic preferences, pulling from a clearly limited user pool to send matches that are the exact opposite of what you ask for in terms of religious beliefs, family plans, and appearance. Even worse, the AI bluntly spills out your sensitive preferences to potential matches in a way that sounds offensive and could easily put you at risk of discrimination. I only matched with one person on this app, and that was a match with a criminal history that resulted in the worst date of my life. It's safe to say I've canceled my subscription. Skip this app. It is a total waste of time and money.
Very cool
First time using it and I’m intrigued at the possibilities. Instead of mindless swiping you can make meaningful matches whether it works out or not.
The ai is really dumb
The ai asks me questions I’ve answered frequently. It doesn’t seem to fix mistakes I point out. The ui on reading the other profiles is too much like prose that it’s annoying to read; it would be nice if they were bullet points. I would like to write my own bio bc the ai misrepresented the things that I told it…and also it took me asking 5 times before it showed me what my bio looked like
Not too bad an app
I read a few negative reviews, but my experience hasn’t been too bad. I matched with someone and, although I was hesitant at first not knowing if we’d get along, things are going pretty well so far. I’ll keep using the app.

Waste of time
The only difference between this and every other dating app is that you have to constantly interact with an annoying AI chat bot. The things you tell it have no impact on the potential matches you are shown. No reason to use this over any other app
Needs some refinement
I think it is more efficient and the future of online dating for sure but because you cant talk to the person until the date or just 2 hours before it leads to cold feet and people cancelling. So itd be nice to have a required video or audio feature of the person you going to meet saying 'i look forward to meeting you'. That gives it a human touch, can see what they look and sound like beyond pics which are usually filtered, cropped or old. I also wish the ai would give me feedback on my profile and pics and why the people didnt pick me that i wanted to meet in a constructive way. I also wish ai didnt ask me questions again i already answered in previous convo with it. I also wish i could zoom in on user pics because some are far away and hard to tell what they look like. I also wish i could choose the venue or have more non alcohol places. Otherwise great concept that im sure other apps will implement.
Great Potential but lot to improve on
1). The AI will do things like “take into account my preferences” and continue to ignore them. For example, I told it twice to not show me people from a certain area and it repeatedly did so. 2). Making date reservations with my Resy account without my permission (even after stating I didn’t authorize it to use my account and telling it to stop doing that!). Booked a reservation that had a $50 cancellation policy and never bothered to tell me until it was too late and my date wanted to switch to a more casual location. 3). Customer support is quite lacking atm. 4). The text formatting bug is kind dumb and should be an easy fix. Where the QA team at? I get that this app is designed to make dating efficient, but I cannot trust it if it will start doing sensitive things without my permission. I genuinely do like using the app otherwise, and hope they can improve on this. I would like to be able to come back and leave a better review!

Great app, minor notes
Easier/ more painless in comparison to swipe-based apps. Some minor issues: - It has recommended someone I’ve already met / said no to a few times - Algorithm doesn’t always remember what I tell it - If there was a way to wait a little longer before deciding yes/no on meeting someone that could be nice but I imagine in someways defeat the purpose. I guess since it’s new the user base isn’t as big yet but with mote promo & time I imagine that will fix itself. Overall though, I’ve had only good experiences here.
I don’t know how these guys got funding
They say it’s ai powered. I say the experience is just like talking to a year 2010 chatbot, but worse because 1/ it suck your personal data (for which they don’t tell you transparently how they use it in their algorithm) and 2/ you have high expectations that the bot is intelligent, you just become more and more disillusioned as you chat with it, feed it with personal data about you and realise how idiotic the « agent » is. I got matched with many people who met my criteria of age and type of commitment (aka monogamous). lol. All that conversation and data input for… a two basic criteria match? You have got to be kidding me. Meanwhile, in the same amount of time (5 days) I had already 124 hinge hit and started talking with 18 of these. I don’t know how you got your investment guys but let me guess : from VCs who believe that dating is done with spreadsheets (and would love to use your app for it in this case) I don’t give the startup 18 more months before it needs to pivot badly

I think the app needs some work personally when I have given my pretences but still get sent their info. I do think it is a great to have us pay $15 for a date and get a drink but they recently removed this without letting us know so when I had a date recently I was shocked to find out I had to pay for my drink when my token was already sitting there waiting. The fact is when the date is cancelled you don’t get refund is not ideal, like I should be getting refunded when the date is cancelled not left as a token.
In theory great
I will start off by saying I like how the AI persona casually asks you questions vs a typical dating app where you need to fill in the blank. I got a 6 month subscription and honestly not worth it. Same folk on here I’ve matched with on tinder and other apps and same story. They are not intentionally looking. App should do a better job at filtering out waste of time folk.

Doesn’t Listen to my Preferences
The AI doesn’t listen at all to my preferences and keeps recommending hyper religious men to me despite me saying that is a dealbreaker. The AI says “I recommend those outside your preferences because you never know what may happen.” I will never be compatible with people that are outside my preferences. This app is a joke and I think I broke the bot because it now speaks to me like a caveman.
Pleasantly surprised
I have only gone on one date so far, but the experience was good. The date was planned very easily, the location was perfect for us both, and the place chosen was perfect date vibes. I thought this app could easily be another dud but it doesn't seem like it. Very happily surprised.
Takes no initiative on removing potentially dangerous users
While this app does a good job in presenting a short bio on their users to get a sense of who they are, it seems they reward you on good dates but refuse to take accountability on bad ones. They had no issue giving me a token to leave a 5 star review, but when I raised a safety concern regarding one of the users its radio silence. For a company that prides itself on intentional dating, wouldn't the safety of their users also be a priority to remove those that don't fit that standard? Odd.

Unfortunately this app doesn’t have many users, so they show a handful of possible matches and that’s it. Waste of time
I’m tired
I’ve been on a few dates so far and I can say this - my dates have been attractive and intelligent. It’s been vastly better than hinge or tinder for “vibes” sake, and the blind nature of it is a bit fun and a novelty in a nice venue. You are paying $16 a date if you buy the $50 for 3 tokens, If you’re complaining about spending $16 to have an arranged date with an attractive woman, get out of your parents basement and get a life. I’ve been pleasantly surprised multiple times with the calibre of person I’ve been set up with. You’d rather sit on a slot machine dating app and get ghosted 400 times? The concept is solid because if you say you like them, you are going to meet them if they return the gesture and there’s no swiping and ego stroking and waiting for replies. This will become the norm in 5 years on all the platforms, I think.. try it

Good idea bad execution
The promise to facilitate dates is nice but actually there are very few people on here and the AI is constantly lying to while asking you constant questions. I wanted to just meet people for dates but instead I’m texting a bot all day. Then when you setup a date people cancel the day before. Which is basically the same as any other app.
Great concept, but poor delivery in tone
I downloaded Amata because I was drawn to the idea of a more thoughtful, values-aligned dating experience. The concept is lovely being matched with people based on deeper emotional compatibility is something the dating world truly needs. But the AI guide’s tone can come off unnecessarily blunt or cold, especially when you’re in a vulnerable place. For many people using a dating app, there’s already a lot of emotional weight. A softer, more compassionate tone wouldn’t dilute the honesty, it would just make the experience feel safer and more human. I hope the developers take this seriously. It has potential, but right now, it risks alienating the very people it aims to support.
Fun safe dates
This app is pretty cool and lets you plan dates for the future with people who are actually trying to date, unlike other sites where you don’t know exactly what you’re going to get. You have to pay for a subscription or pay per date, which can be a bit pricey, but it’s worth every penny and the back-and-forth with people who are actually trying to meet up.
It’s so stupid AI
It is so stupid can’t understand your request. For example you wanna looking for an American, it still shows you other people who are not American even you told it many times, it still doing same thing! So stupid

I’ve really enjoyed using Amata so far. It’s a refreshing change from the usual swipe-based dating apps. I like that the AI takes the time to get to know you, suggests thoughtful matches, and actually gets you to a real date instead of endless messaging. Very useful if you are looking for real dates instead of endless texts. Also I like how the app takes care of the logistics as to when and where is best for the first date to take place
Great concept but poor execution
Wouldn’t refund me even when I contacted within 24 hours of a new billing cycle. It’s really hard to figure out someone’s personality without any prompts or user level customization of a profile. Went on one date with someone I would’ve definitely avoided if I had seen on Hinge. Overall I like the idea of directly going to a date but they need a lot more work on what info they present on each person to identify a match and in general more quality people on the app
