I use it 2 or 3 times a month and appreciate the useful info.
Never works with 401k
I’ve had a disappointing experience with Snowball Analytics. There appear to be significant issues with account integration and data accuracy. They are not cancelling and refunding it. One major problem is that my Empower 401(k) account statistics do not correctly connect to the cost basis, making portfolio analysis unreliable. I contacted customer support multiple times, but responses were very slow and the suggested solutions were unusual and did not resolve the underlying issues. Based on my experience, it feels like the platform has not been thoroughly tested across different brokerage and retirement account types. For a portfolio analytics tool, accurate data synchronization and responsive customer support are essential, and unfortunately both have been lacking. I hope the company improves account compatibility, data reliability, and customer service, as the concept of the platform is promising.
Great Stock App
Snowball is an excellent tool for efficiently monitoring multiple accounts in a single, user-friendly application. The app operates seamlessly on my iPhone, with stable performance and minimal to no prevalent issues, ensuring reliable account management.
Not good for manual imports
The two main issues I’m having with this: 1) With newer IPOs there’s seemingly an issue with the app detecting the correct ticker. This seems to especially be true with recycled tickers which are more common than you’d think. Reaching out to support they basically gave me the instructions for swapping a holding which I already explained to them I did those steps and it’s still not showing the right holding. 2) importing functionality needs a lot of work. With all the data breaches going on I don’t want to link my brokerages directly. I’d prefer to download a CSV and upload it so I can protect my account info. The spreadsheet they provide makes it to where it’s a royal PITA because it’s almost like they’ve never downloaded files from brokerages before and the way they want the headings and fields structured makes for a lot of work. For example my brokerage typed out the event You bought xyz. You sold xyz. Those are fine but then I also have events where I received dividends. That’s fine too but what about reinvestments? I guess that’s considered a buy? It just seems like they need more experience with what’s these look like and how you could make this process have less friction.

Really enjoying this app. Makes finances and tracking much easier. I use this in conjunction with my investing apps. Who make real-time decisions.
Doesn’t update
The app continues to advise dividend payments for securities that were sold a while back. Very frustrating. Emailed customer support. No response. Not worth the money. Won’t renew

Doesn’t show right amount of portfolio by sometimes 25%. Also when I added one portfolio only my net worth was higher then that one portfolio. That should have been the same. A lot of hassle already. Would be amazing if worked correctly

Exactly what I needed
It has been a helpful tool in building out an investment plan. I love how simple it is. Categories and portfolio labs are awesome for testing out investment ideas.
Promising App, Poor Trial & Refund Experience
The platform itself appears promising, however the onboarding and subscription process left a poor impression. I activated the free trial expecting an opportunity to properly evaluate the service before any charge was taken. During setup I was able to connect Trading212 successfully, but repeatedly struggled to connect Hargreaves Lansdown despite following the provided guidance. The process felt far more complicated and less intuitive than expected for a portfolio aggregation app. The most disappointing aspect was the refund experience. Rather than a straightforward customer-focused process, there was significant resistance and repeated attempts to avoid issuing the refund, including references to banking reputation and refund fees. While I appreciate that refunds carry costs for businesses, this should not be placed onto customers who believed they were still within a trial evaluation period. Customer support was polite throughout, but the overall experience undermined confidence in continuing with the platform.

It’s very comprehensive and visualizes the numbers of your own data!
Wrong data
Weekly summary newsletter tells me my portfolio went up while in fact went down. Recent changes to portfolio chart completely changed how my portfolio valuation looks, suddenly all historical data points appear different, and I have no idea why. Unsure what’s going on behind the scenes but this app is not worth the money.
Fascinating insights
Absolutely fascinated by the info this app presents and subbed within minutes of trying it. Just about the only way it could be improved is if it used Trading 212’s API to pull data, like its rival GetQuin does.

Too expensive
Too expensive. Now using Divtracker which allows multiple portfolios and is free
Great overview for miltiple portfolios
This works as a great way to see multiple portfolios consolidated or separated. The real advantage is the ability to see the income from all dividend sources and the scheduled payments. The only reason for the 4 stars is that I cannot link to my brokerage for auto updates as I have to enter all trades manually.

The first place I look to track a myriad of inflows confidently.
Garbage
Changing the cost basis is very hard. You have to delte the stock and re-add it. Also if you don’t know the date if purchase, it allows you to enter the cost of the shares but then it displays the gains and losses from whatever made up date you used so that it will save. 10/10 don’t reccomend
Good App but need to twice.
Why do I have to pay 2 accounts with my wife. Will not take both Wealthsimple accounts ? And when you pay for 10 portfolio but tell you after Oh !! Only one account can be used ! Stupid and frustrating . Please change that !!

Vanguard link faulty
Tried to connect to my vanguard account. Wouldn’t accept my login. No use to me then. Login works with Vanguard but not with Snowball.
Great! …with some minor issues
The app is great displaying all the information that you need in a well laid out manner and all of the information to look at portfolio in depth. The only problem I often find is the information doesn’t sync 100% with my brokerage (Wealthsimple). It sometimes shows more or less shares than are in the portfolio, and some dividends say “yet to receive” long after the income has hit my account. Although small annoyances, if I am paying for a third party app I expect it to track better.
This is a must software
I use this software everyday to determine how my portfolio is doing. I love the calendar feature that shows when I will get paid by each ETF.

Do not use if from the UK
I was looking forward to connecting my trading 212 app however both ways of automatically connecting that offered by Snowball do not work. I’ve tried multiple times, but it seems to be a problem with UK registered brokers. This was not stated on the app prior to me downloading and I am looking for a refund. This is something that everyone from the UK needs to be aware of. There are better apps if you are manually going to transfer your portfolio.
Straightforward portfolio tracking
Easy to sync with my broker and to change my default currency. I like the dividends feature. A great addition would be if Snowball could deduce the currency gain/loss for assets purchased in GBP where assets are valued in USD. Sharesight does this
