This is the best app for Reddit that you can get if you’re still using Safari!
If you’re trying to avoid the Reddit app nags, you must have this app. The developers of this app have been constantly battling for years and in the recent months, even more intensely with the Reddit app developers to fight official Reddit apps nags that are happening on Safari more and more frequently. This is the only app that I’m aware of that can really combat those apps nags and I’m currently in contact with one of the developers to combat yet another persistence and recent app nag that I and a few others are experiencing. Sink It for Reddit Team have done an excellent job of being able to update the app and consistently continue the fight to battle official Reddit app developers.
I tried but I can’t find value in it
All I want is the dang “download Reddit app” banner gone. It says it does it but it fails to do so. It also is really buggy. It’s just not at all worth it
Getting ads
I tried using the “contact us” link on the website, but it was dead or unreachable. I wanted to notify you with a screenshot that I have from today that I’m seeing ads again. I have a promoted post for a mattress company in my feed. I have the pro or upgraded version of Sink It.
Fixed (for a short time)
„Use our app“ nag fix was broken for a few days, but is now working again. Edit: Seems Reddit updated this annoyance again, so currently not usable.
Seemed promising
But didn’t deliver on some of the most basic features. Namely: Isn’t automatically redirecting to old.reddit.com Doesn’t actual set dark most of the time.
Can’t use Reddit without it
Once in a while falls behind Reddit, it great most of the time. I can’t use Reddit without it.
No longer blocks subscribe banner
It used to be great but now it doesn’t block the subscribe banners that prevent scrolling. I hope it can be fixed!
Almost perfect RES replacement
It’s like 90% there for me, it just needs a better dark mode theme. I use it on desktop and the contrast between the background and the text is too much on an oled screen.
I REALLY want to like this, but the Back button bug is brutal!
If the dev can fix this would be near perfection. But the back button not returning you to the previous page is a hard problem to ignore. I pray it’s fixed soon as I want to give this a 5 star
Good app, but several bugs
I prefer using Sink It over the native Reddit app, but there have been a few bugs that have been bothering me: 1. When I return to the app, I can see about 3 posts before it stops allowing me to scroll. This happens when I previously had the app open, but do something else on my phone for a little while before going back into the app. 2. There is now a “View in Reddit” banner at the bottom of the screen every time I open Reddit. 3. Clicking on a picture from the feed will never load the image anymore. This used to be functional until sometime in May I think. 4. Back when I could get the image to load in, I couldn’t pinch to zoom from the main feed without the page being reloaded. This never worked for me. 5. Videos sometimes fail to load from the main feed or even once I click into the post. I think this is mostly YouTube videos. 6. I would like swipe gestures between multiple picture posts. The button is a little small, making it difficult to always press.
Great to break addiction!
Thanks for adding in my request for the office hours feature. I rely on that heavily. Anyway it could just apply to weekdays? Keep it up!
Needs update
Reddit updated their site so now the app is not functioning correctly. Opening any link or returning to any feed opens up your user settings which has to be dismissed every single time. Also safari reloads often while you are scrolling or watching a video, causing you to have to restart.
Works great, muted words not so much
Extension works great for nearly everything. My only request would be to revamp the muted words feature — words that have been muted still appear in feeds.
Losing patience
This app is consistently broken on iOS, I do all the correct things and flag issues to the dev who says they’ll fix and yet months and months go by and the issues persist. I’ve lost patience, it was good at first but it is an absolute mess at this point. It simply doesn’t work. Even the reset buttons don’t do their intended job. A real shame because on desktop it works great but it seems iOS is a dead project.

This extension has literally never worked
I’ve asked on reddit and never got support. This extension does nothing.
Superb
This makes using new Reddit so much better. It’s fully customisable and gets rid of ads. The main thing it’s missing is the ability to add to desktop - I suspect this is down to iOS’s current restrictions, if not, I would love to see the added so it can really feel like it’s own app. Thankyou devs
Must purchase Max Upgrade for realistic use
Use Oldr or Userscripts for redirecting as this ext first loads new and then redirects to old. Also if you’re using an Intel Mac, Old Reddit is a must. To enable dark mode on Old Reddit, you have to pay $5.
Latest version does not hide sidebars when its told to
Up till recently the side bars would hide to allow reading a post better. Checked there is a setting for this i think but its not working
Just use Reddit on the web
Forget all those finicky Reddit apps with subscription fees. Ditch the official app with the endless ads for St*te F*rm. You have a full browser called Safari. Use it to browse Reddit with this well thought out extension.
Critical bugs prevent use
I want to like this app but it just doesn’t work anymore. I’ve been excited about each recent patch but I have been infinitely loading when scrolling down on the all/popular feeds for weeks. It’s unusable for that reason. Unfortunately, Reddit itself is also unusable without this app due to an endless stream of political garbage I don’t care to see. This app was great at filtering that out, until the infinite scrolling issue. I’ll keep checking in, but currently I can’t recommend this to anyone.
This is nice but some small issues
When auto redirecting to old Reddit, using the “fix old Reddit” option squeezed the content too much where some post titles are cut off. One issue is just too much zooming, the other fix is to be able to hide the left side bar or possible add some custom css to make it toggle-able? Thank you!
Bug makes it unusable
When I click “back” to exit out of comment sections, it doesn’t work. Everything else great but this bug makes it unusable
Duplicating posts
I like the idea of the app, some parts work well but I’ve had to disable recently as it duplicates posts so often. Scrolling through Reddit I just see the same posts over and over. Disable the app and this doesn’t happen.

Doesn’t work
I just installed this and it did not work at all. I enabled and gave permission, refreshed the reddit page, closed and open safari and even restarted my ipad and it didnt work at all.
App is nice
This app is nice and works, but if possible, can you develop a way so I can use it on other web browsers. Wanting to use this for duck duck go specifically
Simply doesn't work on iPad or Mac
The app works pretty well on the phone, but its performance on the iPad and Mac is poor. Filters do nothing past the current session. You'll be muting the same subreddits over and over and over again.
Works great from browser..but not if you add shortcut to home screen on iPad
Not sure the difference, but it works great when I navigate to Reddit.com from Safari. Then I figured I’d add a home screen shortcut to Reddit.com to replace the Reddit app for easier access, but it doesn’t work when I access through the shortcut. No clue.

Since Reddit killed Apollo, and i refuse to use the mobile app, this extension makes using the mobile website bearable.
Was amazing, stopped working
Sink it was great, used to make Reddit useable. Now all of my muted content is no longer muted, ads are prevalent, and Reddit goes back into reset loops again. The app nags haven’t returned but that’s the only thing that still works.
Ein großer Nachteil
Absolut großartige App, mit der man wirklich sehr viel einstellen kann. Das Benutzererlebnis wird deutlich verbessert. Ein Nachteil bleibt jedoch bestehen und zwar, dass beim Öffnen von jedem (!) Artikel das Pop-up zur Erstellung eines Accounts kommt ("nag screen"). Dieses muss dann geschlossen werden und zwar jedes Mal. Diverse Updates haben das nicht behoben, obwohl angekündigt. Vor einigen Monaten bestand dieses Problem noch nicht. So macht das einfach keinen Spaß. Reddit wird damit nahezu unbenutzbar, wenn man am Tag einige Artikel lesen möchte. Nutzt man die Erweiterung nicht, dann kommt das Popup nicht. Auch im Brave Browser sieht man nativ kein Popup. Konsequenz für mich: ich nutze den Brave Browser für Reddit...

Pretty well useless
Got it to auto redirect Reddit to old.reddit, but that's pretty much useless when half of reddit is marked as nsfw and you want people to pay for "MaX!!" just to do that. Useless. Trash.

Caused more problems than it fixed
Mostly the open in new tab feature. It breaks the website somehow. Just opening a new tab, then coming back to the Reddit feed causes the page to completely freeze up. Not even a page refresh fixes it, I have to close the app, remove it from memory, then open the app again.
Only shows sign up nag screen when enabled
Love the extension but the issue is that the nag screen only shows up when the extension is enabled and it’s a worse nag screen than normally we are talking full screen “Sign up for Reddit” from top to bottom for every new post. I had to disable the extension because of this now i get no nag screen at all Adblock is active in both scenarios. Hope this is something that can be fixed. Otherwise it would be perfect but as is the nag screen is working 🙃

Don’t upgrade, lose features behind paywall
They lock out features that were free and put it behind a paywall.
Too many bugs
If it was a little more stable it would be a great app. As it stands, it interferes too much with my experience. - Issues with loading requiring an entire restart of Safari (issue gone after this app was removed). - Issue with expanding comment threads (expanded comment threads basically just disappear forever after tapped) These issues alone make it unusable :(
Scroll Position issues
This feature only seems to work randomly, not sure why. Other features seem rock solid.
Great app for old Reddit users on mobile
This is a must have app if you like Reddit’s old UI and want to stop being constantly redirected to the new one. It also has a lot of feature to make the desktop reddit site play nicer with browsing on mobile. It has some bugs at times but the developer is extremely responsive - in my experience if you post a bug on the app’s subreddit he will personally respond to you and try to fix it.
Unusable
I want to love this app because I use the web version of Reddit ever since Apollo shut down. However it’s poorly optimized and causes Safari to refresh the page constantly. “Makes the Reddit web version actually usable”? Yeah, no. On the contrary, it actually makes it very unusable.
Infuriating to use
The app has a nice ideas, but it’s infuriating to use. It makes scrolling just randomly not work as if you’re at the bottom of a page and bounces back when you lift your finger. If the scrolling issue gets fixed, it will be a very useful tool.
Seems to work
It was working better before but I think something may have changed on Reddit’s side. I’m seeing ads now.
