Every bit as fun as Kingdom Rush
This game is very similar to Kingdom Rush, but instead of a medieval fantasy setting, it has a post apocalyptic setting. The big difference is that you can choose where to place the towers freeform, instead of being limited to predesignated spots. This makes the gameplay slightly more challenging in an enjoyable way. As always, the gameplay is well thought out, and the art style is exceptionally cool.
Unpassable Bug
I own and love all your other games. This one however has a lot of funky bugs, most of which are ignorable. BUT. Psychopolis 43 “Queue Lifeline” crashes 100% of the time on wave 4. iPad Pro, fully updated, tried about ten times. Was 5 stars up to then, but obviously it’s unplayable as is so…deleted until fixed
Solid and fun
Weirdly a lot of hate in the reviews but I think it’s because people expected a KR clone. The devs branched out a bit in a fresh way. It’s not perfect but it’s actually pretty fun and challenging in its own right. There are lots of towers and support tactics and plenty of heroes and everything comes with two abilities that you can upgrade. You can’t place towers during waves so you need to plan ahead but the tradeoff is you can move and upgrade towers in between waves very easily. It’s different, it’s fun. It’s solid.
I can’t get past level 11, crashes every time
Love the game so far, but even after redownloading. For some reason it crashes every time, while playing level 11.
Keeps crashing
The game is great. Would give it at least 4 stars, but it keeps crashing on different missions with different units. Frustrating to be in the middle of a rush, and the game just closes.
No micro transactions so far
It’s nice to play an ironhide game without being marketed to non stop for stuff that should just be included in the game

Great game, a bit glitchy
I really love this game, it is very original, unique, and most importantly, fun. A bit sad that this game is exclusive to Apple Arcade only (so far). But I did encounter some issues in the game. One glitch is that the game will crash sometimes, even during a level. Another glitch is that sometimes, I can’t drag and drop tactics even though I press and hold on them. This can frustrating, especially when I’m at the final wave and need the tactics most. Otherwise this is very fun, and I will greatly appreciate it if you fix these glitches in the game for me.

Fun game but keeps crashing
The game keeps crashing due to a code 309 error on wave 3 of level 21 “residential blocks”. I’ve experienced this repeatedly on a proceeding level—I forget which one—but was able to finally get through it successfully. I don’t know why.

Playing on iPhone 14 pro and the game just keeps crashing…completely unplayable at all. Making it even more ridiculous, if the game crash in the middle of a campaign, you will lose all your progress, but the game will still take away the booster you used. Nice work
Stunning graphics, but too easy
I love the world they made, but the game is too easy to play. You just place the towers and most of the time you win without a need to touch anything! Which is a bummer.
Agree with the April 2024 review
I’m a HUGE KINGDOM rush fan. I’ve been for almost a decade. Junkworld is a departure from the other games in that it requires much more strategy. The level of difficulty imo is rather inconsistent, some will be rather easy and the next will extremely difficult then the one after super easy, which can be a bit jarring. I like that it keeps you on your toes. However, as the April 2024 review says, there are instances where the Tactics are no longer usable in the sense that touch no longer works. So they’re there on your screen, but you can’t use them. The final straw for me that made me delete the game from my phone was when it occurred during a boss battle. It was quite sadistic to see the boss trampling everything and you just watch because the Tactics row is there, but you can’t use it. It’s been 7 months since that last review and it still hasn’t been fixed so obviously the developers don’t care too much about the issue. Just a heads up to future gamers, the fact that Tactics is disabled will make your progress much much more difficult. Sadly, for me, that does not justify playing this game any longer.
Decent, not great
I’ve played for probably 10 hours. I like the art and the characters are fun and some have good character voice.. It’s just a lightweight game I play a few board in the evening. The ‘story line’ is weak but varied enough and fun. The boards are very repetitive, the game engine clogs with sprites and lags bad. C’mon it’s 2025 a sprite based game should not be getting choppy. I’m about to quit

It’s alright.
Not as engaging as their previous tower defence games. This one seems kind of random with few stages that offer anything memorable. The variety of towers, heroes, and tactics is overkill (and silly) and leads to the strategy becoming confusing. Previous games gave you fewer of everything but at least you were certain what the purpose of each was. I’m not finished all the stages yet but it’s becoming boring and I don’t feel like trying dozens of tower combinations to see what works. All this plus clumsy controls, frequent crashes, and the annoying tower power-ups that are rarely useful because nothing is nearby. Buzz! Buzz! Buzz! Nope.

Pros: - new heroes - new enemies - new towers (the specials are pretty cool) Cons - game crashes a lot, causing you to lose your bonuses even though it’s not your fault - not as innovative as Kingdom Rush; lots of boring maps with no interesting gameplay or distinguishing factors - uninspiring enemy and boss design; not as epic as Kingdom Rush

I understand that it gives a constant source of income if it is based on the subscription but I rather buy it outright personally and I would like to but I am unable to I think you could still do both the subscription and buying outright because there will be people that would play it a lot wanting to buy it outright but then there are people that will just want to try the game or just use the subscription to play through it
A bit disappointed
I love ironhide as a developer and throughly enjoyed all of the kingdom rush games. I regularly go back and play through all of them trying to collect every star and challenge for each level. I was so excited to see a brand new TD from ironhide but unfortunately I feel it falls a little flat for myself. Obviously this is just my personal opinion and a lot of it will be completely subjective but I don’t like only being able to place and edit towers before waves. In fact I don’t even like the mechanic of placing the towers at all. The game gives you freedom to drag and drop them on the borders of the path yet covers so much with debris and obstacles making it infuriating to try and create some kind of defence. Some towers don’t feel like they change much via levelling them and others feel completely useless unless completely levelled. Very few of the towers I actually find that I like and want to use and most I feel like I need to use just to pass the level. I have 3 starred every level released so far and am working my way through the challenges. Some of the challenges require a specific tactic or tower to be used only throughout the level, majority of the time I found it to be ones I hadn’t been using for the main levels and so I hadn’t any upgrades or very few for them. It makes the levels feel near impossible and so I’m taking to replaying levels I’ve done to try and level up the tactics or towers which brings me to my next gripe, gaining XP. I have no clue how you gain XP in this game I feel like I’m using a tactic non stop throughout a level and getting so many kills and the level ends and XP bar barely moves, if at all. The most frustrating thing is the constant crashes. I can’t completely challenges or use specific heroes cause my game just crashes every 5 minutes. I have never had any issues like this on kingdom before and it just feels like a dip in quality. I genuinely feel really bad leaving this review because I absolutely love all of the other games in the series.

Everything is Great, just one thing
Love the new strategy of JunkWorld, just had one nit pick: if I use boosters at the start of the round and decide to exit the round before doing anything my boosters get used up. May I suggest refunding the boosters if the player hasn’t made any actions yet?

Like all their previous games this is gorgeous to look at and it is nice to see such a variety of thought out towers. However I’m just not feeling it: - the tower upgrades aren’t massively useful as they rarely aim where I want them to. This wouldn’t be annoying if they deployed automatically but as they are one of the few things you can do during the waves it’s a little annoying - three waves of enemies doesn’t feel like enough to really play around with the towers and work out where / when they are best used - only being able to upgrade and add towers between waves makes things a little boring, I found myself zoning out a bit during game play as there were such limited ways to actively interact with the game

Not as good as the kingdom rush series but enjoyable nonetheless. There are some funny bugs and not so funny crashes - particularly on the newer stages.

Like the game but crashes too much
I’ve yet to get through level 56 without it crashing. It happens elsewhere too, but other times I can get through it once the game reboots. I’ve done all the usual tactics with deleting and re-downloading the app. It’s unfortunate too cause it’d be a 5 star review otherwise. Edit: Moved to 1 star because this game crashes every couple of minutes. Force closing the app, redownloading, and checking for updates does not help with the constant crashing.

I’m a huge ironhide fan. I’ve been waiting for months for this to come! Seems awesome so far. Just a little annoyed that it keeps pestering me to review it.
Disappointed
Feels unfinished although I’m reading this is a beta for the pay site? The bonuses make the game too easy and the inability to change and upgrade towers mid battle makes this larger a click and watch experience. Sure I could go back and play without those free bonuses but it doesn’t seem worth the trouble which says a lot about this game. I played all of your other releases through extreme modes… miss that grind
Needs work
Wish the menu was out of the way on the bottom so you can place towers there or move your characters easier. Seems towers attack speed is really slow making the game more of hero defense than tower defense, especially when a boss totally disables the towers for way too long. Enjoy the story and placing object works good (unless you are working by the bottom menu)
