No digital version.
Can’t search across all issues
And my search in one issue found an article where I couldn’t see the search term. Scrapbook sounds good but I haven’t tried it yet
Useless if offline
Not sure why this is so difficult for content producers. The content is great but…… if you want to read the magazine on a plane or train you are out of luck. Whilst it gives you the ability to download for offline reading, if you go offline it still wants to check your subscription. If you somehow get passed this it’s downloaded the text but no images. The images try to load by connecting to the internet but if offline makes it incredibly slow and flakey. It can’t be that difficult so please fix.
Magazine ok App is terrible
The journalism on the whole is decent, and should appeal to the average retail investor. The app however is dreadful, feels like something from 10 years ago. Furthermore, and even worse, if you want to read a linked article, it takes you to a web page asking you to login, without any option to use your Apple subscription…basically meaning you can’t read it!

Really excellent. Love the digital version and the pdf which allows me to read on my kindle
Does not let me download articles
Main reason I have this app is to read on the tube, but it requires internet access to read articles. There’s a download button for issues but downloads disappear as soon as you close the app. This does not happen with the economist app.

I pay a full subscription, but the system is always asking me to log in to read anything.

Improving but please leave no black space on top and at bottom for iPhone X users....

It’s great to have the opportunity to purchase the magazine online.....save paper, and time petrol. And retains the magazine within the app awesome.
Small companies
I subscribed to the IC because of ST tips, however these have been very poor investments resulting in me losing a fortune I am very upset and have become considerably poorer

Last upgrade has broken it. Now disjointed and difficult to use. Please fix urgently Before this last upgrade it was a pretty good representation of the real magazine. One improvement would be to allow search to be across multiple issues

Excellent analysis
For anyone who manages their money you need independent advise from people who know what they are talking about. From Investment trusts to shares. Individual commentaries and sector analysis. The investors Chronicle keeps you more informed. This app is brilliant for the on-line version of the mag.
IPad app
What have IC done ? something that was simple and easy to use is now dis-jointed and frustrating.
Access via all my digital platforms
I have only just subscribed to IC and have found many of the articles well written and informative. It’s £4.99 well spent and I would recommend IC for all new budding and seasoned investors. My only problem is I signed up on my IPhone with finger print access and then try to access the downloaded copy on my IPad or PC it asks me for Username and Password. I have never entered a password and when I ask it to reset my password I never get an email to process it.
Handy but buggy
Some pages can’t be scrolled down so you only get the first paragraph. Otherwise, I like it.
Not working
Can not access anything. All I get is a login page. You login and nothing happens. Had to cancel subscription
Improving
The app is improving. It loads faster, the links work more often and some of them provide very useful additional information. However large areas of white page remain and the tables which scroll sideways are very awkward. There are many excellent articles and lots of useful advice.
Digital only package
I enjoy IC but would like option to have digital-only package as prefer to read on screen. Surely IC should have this environmentally-friendly option? May have but a can’t find it!
Can’t buy issues
Great when it works but randomly can’t purchase issues. Haven’t been able to purchase the last two now as the option to purchase doesn’t come up. The only option is “get” and when I click on this it just takes you to a picture of the first page. I live in a rural area so have to go out of my way to purchase a physical copy and I’m not going to subscribe as I don’t have a need for this publication every week. Thought the app was a solution to my circumstances but unfortunately it’s not fit for this purpose.
Misery App
Just does not work properly and now I cannot sign on online despite being a subscriber. Just painful digitilisation ruining good content.
Great insights
I do not trade in individual shares yet but I have picked up so much since subscribing to the magazine that I am confident to deep my toes in the world of private investment. Phil Oakley joining the magazine as a columnist was a master stroke and I love reading his articles. I bought Simon Thompson’s and John Baron’s books to understand how they choose companies and investment trusts - all of which are worth reading. I even have Phil’s book on Kindle waiting to be read.
Delivered magazine to wrong address
After numerous messages lasting over 6 months and even sending their support multiple screenshots of my address (that they have on my registration) I have not managed to get any subscriptions posted to my address. 6 months worth of paid subscriptions all delivered to my old house. Avoid

Great app for a very useful product. Beats the paper edition for ease of copying information to use at a later date.

The app has very limited functionality and frequently fails to find my subscription. For the price I am paying this is absolute rubbish.
Progress, but...
This is certainly progress: having the entire issue on the iPad is great. Yet despite the retina display, the text is tiny and there is no way to make it larger, since this seems to be a replica of the print edition (and the iPad is much too small). It would be great if you could offer a proper digital edition Iike the Wall Street Journal or Barron's app, with adjustable font and other features.
