What people like
- Great for research and deep study
- Easy to use for beginners
- Has many detailed calculation options
What they complain about
- Updates wipe out all your saved charts
- App crashes when clicking Shadbala calculations
- No working backup or restore system
- Not updated for latest iOS versions
Great, but still has room for improvement!
The basics are absolutely sorted. It’s just the size of charts that needs a little work for the screen sizes.
Deleted over a decade of charts
0 stars deleted over a decade of work and charts
Good
Everything is good except my data lost. I have lost all my data when I update latest version of ios. Non of party is taking responsibility of backup data.
Periodically Deletes Saved Chart Data
In spite of my love for the app, it’s very frustrating to have it delete chart data, which can be difficult to obtain in the first place.
Add jagannath hora
Please add jagannath hora and also add the nakshtra for every house even if a planet is not present in that house.
Very nice app kindly provide dark mode please
Nice app kindly provide Dark mode
Data lost
Around 109 clients data erased please assist at earliest, email have been sent with phone number
Wonderful app
Has everything needed all divisional charts, nakshatra details, Shadbalas etc. Would be great if they allow custom ayanamsas
Lose saved charts
So apparently the charts get deleted with an update I didn’t even know about. Doesn’t see any improvements with the update. Also can’t get the correct ascendant for most newly entered charts. Annoying really. Used to be an excellent app.
No back UP
There is no back up system. I cloud back up does not work. So if you change the device previous saved horoscopes disappear.
Wonderful Jyotish App
My goto app for Jyotish on the phone. It’s had some bugs and bugs fixed. Some crashes sometimes but its total value to me is worth 5 stars.
Would Be Better with FAQs
I’m just starting to study Vedic astrology after years of using Western astrology. While this app has many fantastic features (ephemeris, multiple options for houses, dasas, etc) and I’m very glad I bought it, I’m confused about some things: 1. Why are planets displayed in one house but listed in a different house on the Planet page? How am I supposed to understand that? Where is the planet? Where it’s shown or where it’s listed? 2. Navamsa and other charts show multiple houses with several Roman numerals, indicating houses (?)—but no sign info. What?!!!! Which house is which? Why does one “square” get three Roman numerals? Huh? What are the SIGNS? Three Roman numerals and one little Arabic numeral is extremely confusing. 3. No Ascendant info is listed anywhere. 4. No FAQs to help me understand anything as a newbie. I’m going to other sources and books for help, but can find no explanation anywhere for what the multiple Roman numerals per chart squares mean—so I can’t understand what sign anything is in on any chart except D1. 5. Different ascendants given in other apps—even using the same house system, etc. Why?
Back up feature urgently needed.
Very Good app but missing backup option. Please add iOS backup feature then 5 stars.
Average and require to remove glitches
found glitches in software. In some horoscopes when click on shadbala, the app itself goes off. Can’t see shadbala at all in some particular horoscope.
Back up
I have been using this esteemed software from couple of years so I have so many saved data in the same but last sep oct 2023 it was not working so I was worried but recently it started working so happy but in new update I found no data that I saved so I request you to help me to get all those data
Excellent
The create and save chart should be available as a menu
Once-great app, Now abandoned – Developer & App Store ignoring users!
I have been a paid user for over 8 years. I used to be a big fan of this app, now outraged at how broken and unusable it has become—screens overlap (post iOS update), frequent crashes, exporting/saving and importing charts feature removed, I’ve lost 8 years of saved charts. The developer hasn’t responded to tickets and emails in 2+ years. Is it even legal for App Store to sell it at full price despite numerous such complaints? (see "most recent" reviews). If I could give ZERO stars for the gross negligence and abandonment, I would!!!!
The alignment is not getting in middle
The alignment is not getting in middle
Many features not working
Shadbala never works - the app crashes . Despite writing to the developers no avail.
Frustrsted
Recently, all my saved charts disappeared. Besides that, the app is good for my amateur astrology study.
Best in class
This software is one of the best off-line vedic astrology, SOFTWARE, which can also be used for research purpose.
not maintaining
this is not a free app at least when i first got it. pathetic that it is not maintained for latest IOS
Good app if you know what your doing!!!
I have been in advanced Jyotish -vedic sidereal astrology school since 2012 studying and Ayurveda. This APP can be tricky IF the calculations are set incorrectly or if TIME ZONE IF wrong and a "beginner" isn't going to know this most likely or see the inaccuracy! i know how to make the proper adjustments & Immediately, I am able to tell when a chart is incorrect by talking to a client! -- not everyone -especially beginners- or non-educated people use this app will not understand = the consequences are that they charts will be incorrect and they won't realize it! or they don't know how to adjust it! must must have a time of birth or the entire charts & Varga charts will be INCORRECT! if people don't know how to read Chandra lugna - a moon chart or a Sun chart - well then that creates a problem too - is what it is - sometimes there is a small variation in accuracy -i then use my expensive Jyotish software to compare (small variations in the DEGREES can throw off the Nakshatras & padas too) beginners 'should not' rely on this app - that's my professional opinion
Update, erased on my charts!
This is actually a really good app with a few issues that have been noted in other reviews. I will add that I just updated and it erased all of my saved charts. Quite annoying to say the least. You would think that would be one of the main things they would check before they put out a new update.
Still it will improve
Nice app but still to improve
iOS update?
Please update for iOS 18..You are lagging behind by one year
Unsupported app
Apple needs to take stock of all the complains in these reviews. We paid for this app only to be left astray. The app updates itself and wipes out the saved charts. You can share charts to your email as a back up, but there is no option to import them back!! Someone really needs to understand customer experience here
Bug crash
I love this app! Easy to use and so much more than I know how to use but it's not intimidating. However, there is one annoying bug crash. It happens when I select my chart, then go down to click the shadbala button. It closed the app then returns to "Here & Now" chart... it happens with my chart the most. I have had to do it over and over but does the same thing. But..... if you first click on any other button from the bottom menu then I can click shadbala and it will work... other than that irritant, it's really a great app I'm glad I purchased it.
Update ruined everything
I thought this app was okay…and then the recent update wiped out all of the charts I had saved! It installed a bunch of famous people charts (that I don’t need) but deleted all of my data. Not only that, now the charts are all misaligned. Very disappointing since it is a paid app. Unhappy :-(
Charts disappeared
I have loved using this app for several years but i had several charts on here and they recently ALL disappeared!!!😱😱😱Some of the charts i didnt have written down anywhere else. Is there any way to retrieve my charts?
Once I made my chart - I can’t use anymore.
This is not acceptable. Your website doesn’t help.
Poorly maintained
Update (May 22, 2025) —I was still using this despite all the UI quirks (eg having a thirds of the Bhava Chalit chart off to the right everytime I looked at the D1). I wish someone would maintain this because it’s a cool tiny app, but unless you’re using a very old iphone, this app is way way problematic, not updated for contemporary UI’s and now that I switched to South Indian mode it won’t even start up.. it crashes all the time. And years of data is apparently lost. PLEASE HELP AND UPDATE THIS APP Too bad. Look elsewhere folks, this will disappoint you. ————— On my iphone X I loved this app. It’s clean, clear and simple. Lots of great functionality. I loved the Here & Now displayed over the D1... It was never good with daylight savings issues, but whatever.. When I upgraded to an iphone 15 I lost all the many years of birth chart data. Plus it wouldn’t work. Then I bought the other app which has the same name with a period at the end (confusing, yes!). So I spent another $10 and everything was still lost plus for some ugly reason you see part of D2 on the D1 page.. So a little cleaning up would go a long way, but don’t invest your time. Peace. Om.
Very Good
It’s very handy and convenient instead of opening a laptop! Not sure why others are complaining about calculations being off, not true, as I keep checking with other big-name softwares! So, what is missing? Conditional Dasas, Bhinna AshtakaVarga (BAV), Chitrapaksha Ayanamsa, although it is close to Lahiri, should be included, and finally basic Jaimini Dasas. Would be really awesome if the process of creating a chart with birth details and location and time is fine-tuned to a single page, instead of 4 pages! Really love this software 🙏🏼👍🏼💪🏼!!!
Not Working
This is the only way for me to contact developers, hey Shalat Dev your app that I paid for is not compatible with iOS 17 either fix it or give me refund…..
Lots of mess up after update
First of all I have been using your app for more than 10 years. Paid $8 back then. I have other apps to but this one is my favorite because they have pretty much everything I need. Layout was also amazing. Planet information including nakshatra pandas and retrograde showing in red circle, rashi in chart showing with Big numbers, super imposing real time transits are amazing. Because of that I preferred it than cosmic astrology app. And it is better Cosmic wants you to buy even calculations of chart which is joke. But I did not like tha part where you guys did not update your app when Last IOS update required and got kicked out from App Store. Now I have lost 700 people data. I think I trusted you guys with my data since I was in love with your app. Now how can I get it back? Also in this new version, why did you guys make chart size smaller? And I can’t zoom in so very hard to read planets name and even rashi number. Please fix it and make it how it was earlier perfectly fitting phone screen.
Accurate & Easy!
I love this app! I am new to Vedic astrology and the charts are super easy to access. I love how each chart shows it’s meaning per its division. Great for beginners!!!!
Install issues
I have to install and uninstall the app a lot because when I try to add a new chart it doesn't work.
Requires an update for transits
Request provide a system wherein the transit for a future or past date can be seen superimposed on the D1chart. Presently only current moment transit can be selected and seen in the D1 chart.
Keeps crashing
Calculations are good but the app keeps crashing when I try to backup or sometimes immediately after opening
New version has some issues
The developers of Jyotish dashboard have come out with a new version for iOS in December 2023. From the program notes, it looks like it was released to make the app compatible with iOS 17. Unfortunately, the latest release seems to create more issues than it solves. First, when I open the app after it automatically updated, I discovered that my chart records were no longer in the database. I went to the email that I had sent to back up my records, but find I cannot upload those records back to the app. I’m not sure why, and I’ve tried everything, but it appears with this new release that the uploading of a back up database to the app does not work the way it worked using previous versions of the app. This needs to be fixed right away. I am also getting a weird UI. I had upgraded my phone to an iPhone 15 a few months ago, and I was worried whether the app was going work with my new iPhone, and found that it worked like a charm, using an earlier version of jyotish dashboard that was released eight years ago. But with this most recent update, while the app works, in addition to the fact that I cannot upload back up chart records, the UI is no longer accurate, as its screens do not line up correctly. As others have written, I would contribute to having this program fixed because it’s the best Jyotish program out there in my opinion, and I’ve been using it for almost as long as it’s been on the market. But if the issues that I raised are not addressed, I am reluctantly going to have to move away from this application as it’s no longer feasible for me to continue to use. Or unless I’m given the option to roll back to a prior version.
5 stars
I love all the different calculation options for the research astrologer. Great app, would be nice if you included asteroids even though that’s not par of traditional jyotish.
Formatting is off. Showing one full chart and part of another chart.
Very disappointed
Shad Bal calculation wrong
The shad bal calculation is wrong, otherwise it seems quite handy
Dashas are wrong
Originally, I loved this app but over the past approximately two years I've noticed that it gets the Vimshottari dashas wrong. They're off by a good bit. the maha dashas are more or less correct but the antar dashas tend to be inaccurate. So this app is useful for most of the other metrics but wrong for dashas, so it's utility is greatly diminished. As most readers know, dashas are the key piece of jyotish that greatly increases the accuracy of jyotish versus other types of astrological systems. Please fix it! I bought this app when it first came out and helped them to fix various portions. And it was free. But now I don't use it very much.
No avakahda/ shatpad table and munthaha system
I’m giving you three star, due to avakahada chakram and munthaha chart are not providing, I would request you to add those.. thanks
Comlete useful
Amazing for being small app. If you can include muhurta it is even better. I still give you 5 for this program is very good and doesn’t crash. Danauris Mieses
Buggy and often won't open
This is a good app when it works. Unfortunately it doesn't like the latest iOs. This app is flawed and often fails.
Very good app
The app is really good and clear interface. It will be better if the charts can be extracted as pdf
Good
The app is good it’s just not always accurate. Doesn’t show that Moon is exalted in Scorpio etc or lagna is not always correct. Overall satisfying when you see what was the price
Saved charts gone automatically by itself.
😠 Secondly I can’t change the timings of transit to see my future predictions. Varshphal and dashas are not finely seen. Needs changes n updations.
