Simple
It’s grand, there aren’t that many lines or routes in Ireland so it’s not that complicated. Is handy for referencing time tables to have an idea of how to plan a journey.
Modified schedules don’t update
On a day where Irish rail know they are using a modified schedule; it would be great if the app train times reflected the schedule. Getting the dart from Sutton in to city on 29th December and the app train times are wrong by 15+ minutes. The screen/live updates board on the platform is accurate
Live-Map is not LIVE
The live map is aspirational and does not actually represent where each train is - just where it might be (or thereabouts) if it was running on time. Apart from that, the app is good.
Irritating
Whenever you try to enter a station name, always get not found error until give app location permission. That’s rubbish - if should be able to just type station name and that should always just work. App itself is pretty slow but live departures useful, esp when at rural stn with zero local info not even which platform train will arrive on
App shuts down
Everytime I search the train from one destination to another the app shuts down, wonder whats wrong, my iphone is xr
Not working since update 28-04-26
iPhone Irish rail app saying the resources could not be loaded because the app transport security policy requires the use of a secure connection So won’t work .. is it on developers side as Ive tried everything

Useless
Everything this app does it does fine. The issue is mainly that it doesn’t absolutely nothing of use. Usually, you’d expect that when a service offers a website and an app, the app would do as much if not more than the website. In this case you’d be wrong. You can’t log in, you can’t buy tickets, you can’t input your tickets to add to your wallet or journeys or live track your trains. It does very effectively tell you where your nearest station is with your location on and it does tell you what trains are going from that station soon. That is about all it does.
Live map is not in fact live
The live map in the app seems to be an animation of the timetable, rather than anything actually based on the location of physical trains. I had the joy of watching as a virtual DART (destination Greystones) approached Pearse Street today, virtually stopped directly in front of me and virtually moved off southbound. Sadly the train’s real world counterpart never materialized.
Buy a ticket online
Couldn't be better to have the choice to boom & pay online for a ticket?
Pointless app
Tried to book tickets , selected destination , time etc , just to be redirected to website. What is the point of this app ? Am I missing something

You can’t buy tickets on the app. You are directed to their website which then requires you to log in every time

The app doesn’t track train times accurately, doesn’t even have the train schedule correct. Pointless app, for scheduling stuck to google and for tickets just use the website. No idea why this app even exists
Pathetic
This is app is completely useless. I don’t know why downloaded it. I just want to buy and show my tickets. This app does neither.
