What people like
- Great for deep Bible study tools.
- Lots of free resources available.
- Easy to use and navigate.
What they complain about
- Spanish and Portuguese content is lacking.
- No syncing between iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
- Extra translations cost extra money.
Simple and effective
Thanks so much to Rick Meyers and all of the great work you have done in creating this low cost and versatile bible software. The Tyndale of the digital age. God bless you Rick, in the name of our dear Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
References
Why is the EWG comments or writings not available as a Bible reference? Instead you have this elementary opinions of Meyers, will delete this app as a result, a wasted purchase
Let down by lack of iCloud sync
A much loved app, that in the many years I have used it has become an indispensable aid to Bible study. But it's such a pity that the iPhone, iPad and Mac apps are all quite separate with no syncing of content/settings between them. For example, notes/highlights added to one device require repeating a laborious backup/export/import workaround to be replicated on the others, which are instantly out of sync as soon as another note/ highlight is added. Would be such a blessing to see iCloud sync enabled in a future update.
Maps?
How can I access the maps like on the picture?
Has enriched my study
I pretty much use this resource everyday. Thank you so much for making it so easy to use.
Obtain Bible licenses!
Can you obtain licenses? A lot of Bible apps obtain those licenses, and offers it for free, (some of them use our personal information to submit to the publisher). This is a lazy app! Come on, like damn!
Sword Bible. app.
This app. Is very well laid out and useful. One exception that I have is to copy verses together and print them. The bible help, for the verses you are looking at is very good too. I am happy with this App.
Inferior a MySword
Not what I expected
I am not happy I paid for this and most of the bibles I want aren’t even available, the interface is dated looking, I use bible gateway app and bible app they offer the Amplified and Geneva Bible while this app doesn’t, you have to purchase on top of what you have already paid for this app.
Perfect Study Resource
I loved this app on PC and now on ipad its still as good if not better. Plenty of free materials to download and even more for purchase if you are looking to expand your library with excellent resources. The best app in terms of resources avaiable and very easy to use. Would love to have icloud backup and integration on this app. Thanks, God bless.
Good but...
It’s undoubtedly good bible app but i wish its made to support Apple Pencil to make note taking fluid and easy.
Expensive
I agree the other bible versions are very expensive. Also why can't we buy them from within the app instead of logging on to Esword. Also why are all the prices in dollars. App deleted.
Grandiosa app
Wonderful study aid!
eSword is a great study aid, especially when travelling or on holiday. To have a choice of Bible versions and commentaries at one's fingertips is so useful. To be able to immediately jump from a text to the right place in a commentary saves a lot of time, so I use it for home study too.
Very costly to buy Bible translations
Very disappointed that I paid AUD 7.99 and then to access any translation that is NOT KJV have to pay a further USD 20 per Bible translation. Whaaat? You Version Bible is free with free translations.
Stephen Palmer
I have been enjoying this program so much , even as a study tool for bible studies thanks guys
Expensive for more popular translations
I was disappointed to find the cost of the translations that I wanted - the NIV and NLT. These are free with other apps. Also Bibles only seem to be able to be bought in dollars.
Basic Bible
This is a basic Bible app without a lot of bells and whistles. The add on modules are very well priced but some of the books could use page numbers as far as I can tell. Nonetheless functional and useful providing basic Biblical references and software.
Love eSword
I just love this piece of software. It enables me to have the tools I like at hand as I read the Bible. I especially love to look up the meanings of words using the Lexicons available. Only thing I am not happy with is the current audio bible versions as I prefer audio without accompanying sound effects but I am sure that will also become available at some point.
Critique
It's annoying that you have to buy the app before you can try it out. There is no text to speech reader. The KJV is not the genuine KJV but is an 'update'. You feel ripped off. Also I had to write this feedback 3 times because every time it tells me my 'nickname' is taken instead of allowing me to alter it, it makes me go back to the beginning again. - pretty poor effort.. What's with the 'nickname' anyway? Has it something to do with old nick?
Great app
I wish one could buy other materials/ resources from within the app because it’s difficult to buy from another source before you can use the code to download. I gave up on my resources purchased because it will always say code not correct. Otherwise it’s a very useful app. Tony.
E-Sword review
E-Sword is an incredible Bible Study tool. It is extremely user-friendly, yet quite comprehensive. The layout is intuitive and the formatting simple. It has thoroughly revolutionised my study of the Bible and I have freely and unequivocally recommended it to friends, family, brethren and whoever cares to listen. Thank you Rick and the team. May God bless you and reward your work and labour of love.
All but...
I guess I'm used to the PC version but after using the iPad version for a year now I have the following comments. This would be a great 5 star app if the 'book and verse' index were more intuitive. Trying to find your book reference both across and down is much less intuitive than just scrolling down a list. The same goes for the chapter and verse indexes. Having to load a new concordance every time you switch from the OT or NT is also quite inconvenient. Also, not sure why a split screen isn't used to reference the editors. I have two large Apps on Physiology and Anatomy, and the other a 100 volume plus reference work, that have these features. I have supported this Ministry because of the great work they do, and will continue to do so, but everything can be improved. : )
Link iPad app with iPhone app?
Is possible to link my iPad data with my iPhone? Do I have to purchase twice the app?
Brilliant resource...
I’m grateful for the access and use of this resourceful material. And I pray for God’s blessings and abundant provisions to the human architects of this intellectual property in the name of Jesus
Mr
A Grate Bible app all versions in one place
Vamos agir pessoal. Aguardo resposta. Pr. Jozué Fernandes

Exceptional
I Have used Esword from the time it was available on palm devices. I fell in love with it then ...it was so much that I resisted getting an apple device for the mere fact that they could not be downloaded on them. It's been a delight to now be able to access it on my apple device
A Very Convenient App.
Because we use our bibles in church, and I help my 93 year friend to find the books in her bible, it's great for me to be able to access the necessary readings quickly, and this app allows rapid access.
No computador tenho além dessa, a NVI, Católica, Viva, NTLH. Se tivessem essas ajudaria muito.
A Great Help
This Bible app is a great tool for Bible Study. My favourite is the compare tool which lets me see the different meanings in the translations or versions of the Bible. And for someone without easy access to credit cards, most of the versions are free. This is all very helpful. I would recommend this app to anyone who wants to devout time to the study and appreciation of the Bible.
Using it constantly
Excellent app. Especially as I managed to buy the NIC NT commentary when it was on sale. How about the OT too...? :) The ability to have an incredible theological/devotional library - all on the iPad is what makes this kind of app just brilliant. Gone are the days of trying to remember where in the house a certain commentary is. Would have given this app 5 stars but I think there are still a few minor tweaks required; parallel reading option of bible text and commentary at the same time is the major one I can think of. Nevertheless, this app is still a daily staple for me.
Pst
Great study resource
E sword iPad
This is the first version I downloaded and find it so easy to navigate and read and has been a great help in my course the second version for my Mac isn't as easy or intuitive maybe that's because I used this iPad version first but a great resource
